Chapter 29
After having lunch at the state-owned restaurant, Du Yimeng suggested taking the four brothers to visit the courtyard, and they were all very happy.
Half an hour later, the few of them looked at the weed-covered yard and were no longer happy. It seemed that they understood why she ignored the feelings of her wallet and ordered a large plate of braised pork for them.
“What are you still hesitating about? Isn’t the braised pork delicious?” Du Yimeng said slowly. Don’t they understand that there is no free lunch in the world?
It doesn’t matter if they don’t understand, she will make them understand this truth deeply.
“Be careful when pulling weeds, don’t cut your hands.” Du Yimeng did not forget to remind them.
After instructing them to pull out the weeds, she began to walk around. This yard, although it was called a small yard, was actually not small at all.
Aside from some weeds in the yard, the house is well maintained and basically no money was spent on it.
There are four main rooms in the main house, except for one which is the living room, the other three are the main rooms. There is a main room on the west side, with the living room in the middle, and then there are two main rooms connected to the east side.
There are two wing rooms on the east and west sides. The west side has two living rooms, and the east side has one storage room and the other is a kitchen.
Her eyes fell on the weeds in the yard again. If this piece of land could be used as a vegetable garden, her family would no longer have to buy vegetables.
As for planting flowers, she had never thought about it. Firstly, it was not practical, and secondly, she was worried that when the wind blew, the flowers in the yard would become a reason to attack her.
Suddenly her gaze stopped. The weeds in the middle of the yard looked like they had been stepped on, and the marks were very fresh. It was obvious that someone had been here not long ago.
She walked forward along the traces that had been stepped on, and when she saw what was at the end of the traces, her face was filled with surprise.
She never expected that the end of the trace was at the pool. Then her eyes fell on the brand new faucet. She turned on the faucet and the water was clear.
This courtyard was ownerless before it was allocated to her, so after it was allocated to her, someone came here and helped her replace the faucet with a new one.
Could it be that Director Yu hired someone to do it?
This seems to be the only possibility…
As Du Yimeng walked out, a voice caught her attention.
“Niece…” When Moon Lee heard some noise next door, she came over curiously to see what was going on.
Mainly, I want to find out what kind of people my future neighbors are like and whether they are easy to get along with.
If you get along well with others, you can interact more with them. If you don’t get along well, you can close the door and live your own life. But as soon as I walked to the door, I saw a familiar figure.
“Second aunt?” Du Yimeng turned around and saw her so-called second aunt from third uncle’s family who was at the supply and marketing cooperative in the morning.
I didn’t expect to meet her here. Could it be that this ‘second aunt’ also lives here?
“What second aunt?” Yu Hongru, who was a step slower, looked at his wife in confusion, then at Du Yimeng. What was going on?
How come he doesn’t know that the Du family is his relative?
He specifically gave her this uninhabited courtyard next to his house, just to keep her under his watch. For talented people, they should be kept close by and under close watch.
“Director Yu?” Du Yimeng was also confused when he saw Yu Hongru. What was going on?
“I didn’t expect that my eldest niece works at the machinery factory.” Li Saifeng couldn’t help but sigh that this world is really small. The powerful technician in the machinery factory that Lao Yu mentioned turned out to be her.
Just as Lao Yu said, although he is young, he is very smart.
“No, how come you became Comrade Xiao Du’s second aunt?” Yu Hongru said that his mind was a little confused and he needed to sort it out.
Li Saifeng then recounted what happened in the supply and marketing cooperative that morning. After Yu Hongru learned about the situation, his face was complicated. He had wanted to get a bicycle ticket for Du Yimeng, but he didn’t expect that the ticket for his family’s bicycle was still hers.
How should I put it? This feeling is like getting something with great difficulty, thinking it is very valuable, and giving it to that person, only to find out that they already have it.
I feel powerless…
“My father is the third child and I am the second child in the family. It’s not wrong for me to call myself the second aunt.” Moon Lee said to Du Yimeng with a smile. She said that this young comrade was quite smart and she didn’t expect that she was right.
“Second aunt, I am the eldest in the family, and you are not wrong to call me niece.” Du Yimeng said with a smile. She didn’t expect that the ‘second aunt’ turned out to be Director Yu’s daughter-in-law.
Then should she call Director Yu “Second Uncle”?
Of course, she was just entertaining herself. If she really dared to scream, people would think she had no sense of propriety.
“I will also follow my husband and call you my niece. Don’t call me factory director in public. It seems a bit strange.” Yu Hongru thought for a moment and blurted out some words to try to get closer.
If he could become a relative of the Du family, he would be even less worried about Du Yimeng leaving the machinery factory.
“Second aunt, second uncle!” Du Yimeng was not a brainless person. Since people gave her a pole, how could she not climb it?
Du Yidong, who was busy pulling weeds and trying hard to pretend to be an invisible person, suddenly had his eyelids twitched. His father went back to his hometown every time.
His sister found an older sister named Yu for his father, and also found a brother-in-law who is a factory manager. I wonder if his father will be happy when he finds out?
He might feel more frightened!
He tried to lower his presence, and she seemed to be able to hear his inner voice, as if he was determined to go against him because she called them over.
He doesn’t want…
“Call someone…” Du Yimeng said to the four brothers. Why are they still standing there like idiots? The thickest thigh is right in front of them. Why don’t they hug it quickly…
“Second aunt, second uncle…” The four people’s voices were getting smaller and smaller, especially Du Yidonggang, who wished he could stuff his head into his stomach.
So embarrassing, isn’t it?
“You are all good kids. I’m a little rushed today. I will give you the gift when your family moves in.” Moon Lee looked at them and nodded with satisfaction.
From the time she came over until now, the children have been pulling weeds with their heads down, except for the youngest one who looked up at her at the beginning.
When many people heard that she was the wife of the director of the machinery factory, they tried to please her deliberately, but she happened to dislike such people.
The guest who praises me must have something to ask of me. She just doesn’t like dealing with people, it doesn’t mean she is stupid.
Some people say that you can tell what kind of people a father is by looking at his children. She didn’t know what kind of people the Du family’s parents were, but looking at these children, she knew that their parents should be good.
“No, you’re too polite!” Du Yimeng refused. The four brothers also shook their heads. It was just a joking name, so how could they accept a gift from someone?
“I have to let you know that I’m not calling you Second Aunt for nothing.” Moon Lee raised her chin slightly in a proud manner. She is not short of money…
Her parents’ home is in the capital, and her only daughter is also married in the capital. She has been in Changde for more than ten years and doesn’t know many people, so she basically doesn’t go out on weekdays.
She was bored staying at home every day, and she longed for the outside world. It was rare that she liked these children, so she wanted to walk around more and have someone to chat with when she was bored.
