Chapter 373: I Can’t Bear to Part with This Motion Sickness Pill

Mother Jiang looked at the neighboring carriage with both amusement and frustration. “Where else could he go? He’s over there already. That old man, once he feels better, goes to chat with people.”

“This is Wu Wei, Wu Dage’s son. He said he had something to discuss with the third family.” Jiang Father quickly explained the person behind him to his son and daughter-in-law.

Wu Wei glanced at the family, especially when he saw Jiang Hong’s imposing manner. He immediately sensed that Uncle Jiang’s son was a soldier.

“Hello, I’m Wu Wei. My father and Uncle Jiang are chatting buddies. I overheard Uncle Jiang mention that he felt better after taking a motion sickness pill, so I came over to ask about it.” Wu Wei didn’t try to hide his intentions and explained right away.

Li Yiyi didn’t expect that Wu Wei had come because of the motion sickness pills. Although she wasn’t sure what he wanted, the family still made room for him to sit. After all, a guest was a guest.

“Sorry to interrupt your meal. Don’t worry about me, please continue eating.” Seeing that the family was eating, Wu Wei looked apologetically at them.

Jiang Hong waved his hand. “No need to be polite. If you have something to say, just go ahead. We’ll listen while we eat. Also, have you eaten? If not, you can call Uncle Wu over, and we can all eat together.”

Li Yiyi spoke up. “You mentioned the motion sickness pills earlier. Did you or your father get motion sickness? If not, I can give you some pills.”

When she stood up to fetch the pills, Wu Wei quickly explained, “No, neither my dad nor I get motion sickness. The thing is, I run a business where I travel from one place to another, bringing goods back to sell. I spend most of my time on trains. I’ve seen many people get motion sickness on trains, but they don’t sell motion sickness pills here, so I was thinking of getting some from you to sell on the trains.”

“I’m sorry, I only brought a small amount with me. There are about ten or so pills left. If you’d like, I can give them to you.” Since they would reach their destination the next day, the remaining pills would have served their purpose.

“Give them to me? Is that okay? If you don’t mind, I’ll pay for them,” Wu Wei quickly said.

“You don’t need to pay. It’s not worth much. If you want them, I’ll give them to you. We’ll get off the train tomorrow, so we won’t need them.” Li Yiyi stopped him from insisting on paying.

Wu Wei saw that she was genuinely offering them and didn’t push it further. He thanked her repeatedly.

The next day, when they were about to get off the train, Wu Wei hurriedly caught up with them.

“Comrade Li, Comrade Jiang, this encounter feels like fate. Could we exchange contact information? Maybe we can keep in touch in the future.” Wu Wei said enthusiastically.

Li Yiyi smiled and gave him the address where she worked.

After a few more exchanges, the family said their goodbyes and got off the train.

On the train, Wu Wei’s father, Old Wu, looked at his son in confusion. “Son, why do you seem so reluctant to leave that family in the neighboring carriage?”

Wu Wei chuckled. “Dad, you’re right. I’m reluctant, but it’s not because of the family. It’s because of the motion sickness pills they gave me. They’re really good. Unfortunately, there aren’t many. If there were more, I could sell them on the train whenever I travel and make some extra money.”

“These motion sickness pills can make money?” Old Wu couldn’t believe it after hearing this.

Wu Wei laughed. “Dad, in today’s world, if you’ve got a sharp mind, you can make money with anything.”

At this point, Li Yiyi and Jiang Hong had already gotten off the train and were in a car arranged by Zhang Jia, heading towards Zhang’s house.

“Sis, Brother-in-law, you’re finally back! You’ve only been gone for a short time, but everyone at home has missed you,” Zhang Xisheng said, driving.

Zhang Xisheng froze at first but then confidently said, “Sure, no problem.”

After bragging to his sister, Zhang Xisheng happily greeted Jiang Father and Mother. “Uncle, Aunt, hello, I’m Zhang Xisheng, my sister’s younger brother. She’s your third daughter-in-law.”

“Hello, hello! The third son’s younger brother looks so good, like a young girl, so fair and clean.” Mother Jiang smiled and complimented him.

When Zhang Xisheng heard this compliment, his fair face immediately stiffened.

Li Yiyi, sitting in the same car, couldn’t help but chuckle quietly.

“Aunt, I’m a man! It’s fine to say I look handsome, but don’t say I look like a young girl!” Zhang Xisheng quickly corrected her, still smiling.

Jiang Hong held back his laughter and interrupted his mother, who was about to speak again. “Mom, let’s go to my father-in-law’s house first. After we finish eating, we’ll head back to the military district. How does that sound?”

“Sure, that’s fine. We’re here, so we should visit the in-laws first,” Mother Jiang agreed immediately after hearing her son’s explanation.
