“Really?” As soon as Gu Weiwei heard this, she immediately looked at her with eyes full of admiration.

Li Yiyi smiled and said, “Didn’t Hong Shuo tell you what I do?”

“He did, he said you’re a very skilled traditional Chinese medicine doctor,” Gu Weiwei replied without thinking.

Li Yiyi smiled and replied, “No need, I already have everything ready. I’m here just to accompany you shopping.”

Gu Weiwei’s face showed her gratitude. “Thank you, Li comrade, you’re so kind. No wonder Hong Shuo always talks about you and your husband as good people. I believe him now.”

“Didn’t you believe him before?” Li Yiyi teased with a smile.

Gu Weiwei, panicked, quickly waved her hand to explain, “No, no, I believed him before. I just believe it even more now.”

Seeing her flustered expression, Li Yiyi chuckled and reassured her, “Alright, I believe you now. Since we’ve finished shopping, let’s go eat. I’m a bit hungry.”

“Sure, but I’ll pay for this meal. You can’t steal my treat!” Gu Weiwei said quickly.

Li Yiyi opened her mouth but, seeing how sincere she was, she didn’t want to reject her. After all, she could always make it up after the meal. “Alright, I won’t be polite then. You pick a place.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Weiwei immediately smiled widely. Anyone who didn’t know might think someone else was treating her to a meal.

The town they were in was a county-level city with good development, a department store, and a few state-run restaurants.

After a short walk, the two found a state-run restaurant still open. However, since they arrived a bit late, many of the dishes were sold out.

In the end, Gu Weiwei had to pay twice as much to have the chef prepare two additional small dishes.

“Li comrade, I’m sorry that the food came so late. There aren’t many good dishes left. After this mission is over and we go back, I’ll take you to the Overseas Chinese Restaurant for a meal,” Gu Weiwei explained with a somewhat embarrassed expression, looking at the three dishes in front of them.

Li Yiyi had already figured out that Gu Weiwei’s family conditions were probably not bad.

“Sounds good, I won’t be polite,” Li Yiyi readily agreed.

Gu Weiwei smiled happily, quickly handing her a pair of chopsticks. “Don’t wait any longer, let’s eat quickly. I’m starving after walking around so much!”

Li Yiyi smiled, took the chopsticks, and started eating with her.

They ordered three dishes, each cooked with meat, and the taste was naturally quite good.

Each of them had a bowl of rice, paired with the three dishes on the table. In half an hour, they finished all the food.

“I’m so full. I feel like I’m alive again, but I’m a bit stuffed,” Gu Weiwei said, rubbing her slightly bloated stomach and smiling apologetically at Li Yiyi.

Li Yiyi smiled and without saying a word, turned around and pulled out a small package from her bag. Inside were her precious items.

“Here, eat this and you won’t feel so full anymore. Otherwise, you’ll have a stomach ache when you sleep tonight.” She smiled and handed over a pill.

Gu Weiwei looked at the pill with a surprised expression, hesitated for a moment, and then asked excitedly, “Li comrade, are you really giving me your own pill?”

Li Yiyi smiled at her surprise. “Yes, didn’t you just say you’re stuffed? This pill, although I made it myself, works well and won’t harm you. Are you brave enough to take it?”

Without a second thought, Gu Weiwei quickly took the pill from Li Yiyi’s hand, tossed it in her mouth, and swallowed it without water.

Li Yiyi watched her with admiration. “Don’t you need water?”

Gu Weiwei smiled shyly. “No, I’ve been taking medicine since I was little, and I don’t need water.”

Li Yiyi smiled and nodded. Suddenly remembering something, she pulled out a bottle from her bag. “This is for you, just as a thank you for treating me to this meal.”

Gu Weiwei’s eyes widened as she looked at the bottle in her hands, clearly shocked. She shook her hand frantically. “No, no, you’ve already treated me to dinner. I can’t accept this medicine.”

Seeing her refusal, Li Yiyi smiled and handed her the bottle. “Take it. I’ve enjoyed our time together, and I want to give it to you as a gift.”

Gu Weiwei stared at the bottle in her hands, her head still a bit dizzy.

“My goodness, I actually have a pill made by you, Li comrade! I’m so lucky!” She pressed the bottle to her face, looking blissful.
