Chapter 39: Do You Believe I’ll Beat You to Death?
Li Yiyi couldn’t stand the way he was looking at her anymore. She walked up and kicked him down. “What are you staring at? If you want to look, go look at your woman. If you look at me again, believe me, I’ll beat you to death!”
He Erpao, who had never been hit by a woman before, climbed off the bed with a vicious expression, stomping onto the ground as he cursed, “Stupid woman, don’t think that just because your man is in the army, I won’t dare to kill you.”
Li Yiyi watched as he rushed toward her, and immediately took out the stun baton from her pocket, turning it on and shocking him without mercy.
In the next second, He Erpao, who had been looking fierce a moment ago, suddenly trembled and collapsed to the ground, his eyes full of fear as he looked at the stun baton in her hand.
“What is this thing? What did you do to me?” he asked, his face pale, staring at the baton in terror.
Li Yiyi sighed and spoke to him in a calm tone, “I was planning on talking to you nicely, but you wouldn’t listen. You insisted on forcing my hand. I had no other choice.”
She then walked closer to him, holding the baton in her hand.
Having just experienced such a terrifying shock, He Erpao couldn’t help but feel fearful as soon as he saw the baton, quickly pleading, “Li Yiyi, I know I was wrong. Don’t come any closer. Please, I’ll listen to whatever you say, is that okay?”
Just as Li Yiyi was about to scare him further, she suddenly heard hurried footsteps from outside, making her quickly put the stun baton away.
As she tucked the baton back into her pocket, Jiang Hong’s figure rushed in.
Seeing his calm wife, Jiang Hong exhaled lightly.
“No trouble, right?” After a moment, he walked up to her, looking concerned.
Li Yiyi turned to him with a smile, asking, “Everything’s fine. What about you? How’s the preparation going? Have you arranged for the person to meet?”
“Yes, it’s arranged. She’ll be waiting in the bamboo forest on the back mountain. Now, we just need the wind to carry us there.” After answering, he looked down at He Erpao, who was sitting on the floor.
He Erpao, scared by Jiang Hong’s gaze, stiffened and, with a near tearful expression, explained, “Brother Jiang Hong, please don’t look at me like that. I didn’t hurt your wife. I didn’t even touch her. Just look at me—I’m the one who’s been done in by your wife. I’ve really had a miserable time.”
Jiang Hong glanced at He Erpao, who seemed completely unharmed, then snorted coldly. “He Erpao, we finally meet.” He then walked up and placed a hand on his shoulder, applying a little pressure and squeezing it lightly.
He Erpao, who had been grinning in a flattering manner, suddenly screamed in pain, his face turning pale as he begged, “Brother Jiang Hong, what are you doing? My shoulder, it’s about to break! Please, let go!”
Instead of releasing him, Jiang Hong increased the pressure slightly. “This is a small warning. Keep those filthy thoughts to yourself. If you touch even a hair of my wife, I’ll break your arms and legs.”
He Erpao, nearly collapsing from the pain, weakly tried to explain, “Brother Jiang Hong, I won’t dare again. Please let go! My shoulder, really, it’s going to break!”
At this moment, Li Yiyi stepped forward and lightly tugged on his sleeve. “Don’t break him. I still need him for something.”
Hearing his wife’s reminder, Jiang Hong, though unwilling, finally released He Erpao with a glare.
“Alright, stop playing dead. Come with us to meet your future wife.” She kicked his leg and smiled mischievously.
He Erpao, looking at her eerie grin, suddenly had a sinking feeling. This woman was really terrifying.
After this incident, he realized something: no matter who he angered, he must never provoke Jiang Hong’s wife.
The three of them left He Erpao’s house and took a hidden path to the bamboo forest on the back mountain.
After walking for five or six minutes, they stopped in front of a small, run-down bamboo hut deep in the forest.
“Let’s go inside. She’s waiting in there. If you dare mess this up or mention anything about my wife and me, you’ll be tasting the same punishment you got earlier,” she said, gesturing to the stun baton in her pocket.
He Erpao, seeing her signal, quickly shrank his neck, nodded, and obediently answered, “I understand. I won’t say a word.”
He had also come to terms with the situation. In the end, he wasn’t at a loss—he would get a wife who would cook and wash clothes for him. It wasn’t a bad deal at all!
Thinking of the woman waiting inside, He Erpao licked his lips, grinning lecherously as he walked toward the hut.
Not long after they entered, the sound of Yang Tao’s angry scream echoed from inside.
“Jiang Hong, don’t you think this is a bit too despicable?” Hearing the scream, Li Yiyi suddenly glanced at Jiang Hong, trying to gauge his thoughts.
Jiang Hong held her hand and replied, “What are you talking about? I think what you’re doing is just right. There’s a saying in our team: showing mercy to the enemy is cruelty to oneself. You did great. When I’m not around, you’ll need to protect yourself like this. Understand?”
Hearing his sensible words, Li Yiyi smiled. No wonder she fell for this man!
“I like that answer. I’ll reward you,” she said, then quickly tiptoed and kissed him on the lips before darting into a nearby hiding spot.
Jiang Hong, still in a daze, touched his lips with his hand, a foolish smile slowly spreading across his handsome face.
Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly heard noises behind them. He quickly stopped himself from talking and ducked behind his wife, hiding.
The couple, one in front and one behind, hid in the bamboo forest. Not long after, they heard a group of villagers excitedly walking toward the small bamboo hut.
“I say, Jiànshè, you’re not tricking us, right? You really saw a wild boar, about the size of a half-grown pig, running into the bamboo forest?” someone called out to Jiang Jiànshè, who was walking in front.
Jiang Jiànshè quickly turned his head and answered, “I really saw it! A wild boar, about fifty or sixty kilos. I saw it with my own eyes.”
The villagers’ faces lit up with excitement as they heard this.
They hadn’t had a good meat meal in a long time, and if they caught this wild boar, they would finally get to eat some meat.
As they neared the hut, Jiang Jiànshè suddenly shouted, “I think I hear the boar inside! It might have gone in there!”
