Chapter 479: Really Dead?

Half an hour later, Li Yiyi arrived at the hospital.

As soon as she entered the lobby, she saw He Wenyin and the others waiting for her.

“Dr. Li.”

“Sis.” The three of them walked toward her one after another.

“Why are you three here? Don’t you have to work?” She asked curiously when she saw them.

“Sis, half of the doctors in the entire hospital have been called to the operating room. Sis, I heard the person who had the accident is from R Country, is that true?” Zhang Xingsheng asked with curiosity.

“Yes, it’s someone from R Country, you’ve probably heard of him—Tanaka Ichiro,” she told them.

“Really, from R Country? Why should we save him? They’ve done so many heinous things on our soil, it would have been fine if we hadn’t killed them, and now we have to save him? This absolutely cannot happen,” He Wenyin said, her face filled with anger.

At this point, Ji Jun looked at her and asked, “Dr. Li, are you here to save the R Country person?”

“Kind of, but maybe I don’t have to treat him.” If her guess was right, Tanaka Ichiro was definitely beyond saving.

The three of them froze after hearing her response, as though they couldn’t understand why she would intervene to save someone from R Country.

They were too young, and their faces had already betrayed their thoughts.

Li Yiyi glanced at their faces and immediately understood what they were thinking.

She smiled slightly and explained, “It’s not because I want to save him. First of all, as doctors, it’s our duty to treat patients. If there’s a patient, we naturally have to help. Secondly, this R Country person cannot die in this hospital. That’s the most important thing.”

After hearing her explanation, the three of them realized they had been too narrow-minded and apologized in unison.

Li Yiyi smiled, “It’s okay, I’m not blaming you. Your patriotism is commendable. Now go back to work, I’m going to head inside.”

After finishing her words, she quickly turned and walked towards the operating room.

When she arrived, she saw a group of people from R Country anxiously waiting at the door.

As soon as she appeared, Ito Keisuke and Tanaka Koya saw her.

They both hurriedly walked toward her.

“Dr. Li, please save my father, please,” Tanaka Koya said with red eyes.

Li Yiyi pursed her lips and didn’t nod. She just looked in the direction of the operating room, “How long has he been in?”

“Two hours,” Ito Keisuke quickly replied.

After answering, Ito Keisuke looked at her with guilt, “Dr. Li, we should have listened to you. The medicine must have been problematic.”

Li Yiyi finally turned her head and glanced at him, “It’s too late to say that now. Let’s leave it to fate. But I’ll make it clear: the patient might not survive the surgery, so you, as family, should be mentally prepared.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Tanaka Koya squatted down and held his head, crying in pain.

“Dr. Li, you’re finally here. Hurry, Professor Tan is looking for you,” a young male doctor came running out of the operating room, and when he saw Li Yiyi talking to Ito Keisuke, he quickly ran over and pulled her to the side to the sterilization room.

Ten minutes later, Li Yiyi entered the operating room, fully prepared.

As soon as the head surgeon saw her, he looked like he had seen a savior, “Dr. Li, please come and diagnose.”

Li Yiyi nodded and immediately walked over. She first checked Tanaka Ichiro’s pulse on the operating table.

“The patient’s pulse is too weak. Even if we manage to bring him back, he won’t survive until tomorrow. We should give up.” After diagnosing, Li Yiyi shared the results with the medical staff present.

The staff members, although feeling regretful, didn’t show any sadness.

“Then let’s do this—save his life first, then let them take him back. He can’t die in our hospital,” Professor Tan quickly gave the order.

Everyone resumed their work, and Li Yiyi assisted as needed.

Half an hour later, the lights in the operating room dimmed.

Ito Keisuke and the others, who were waiting outside, quickly approached the doctors as they came out.

“How is he? Is my father okay?” Tanaka Koya asked anxiously.

Professor Tan glanced at them and responded in a cold tone, “He’s still alive, but everything depends on the patient’s will to survive. We’ve done all we can. If you have the means, you can take him back to your country for treatment.”

“How long does he have?” Ito Keisuke asked sadly.

“It’s hard to say. We can’t give an accurate time. Just find a better doctor if you can,” Professor Tan was eager to send the “bomb” out of the hospital as soon as possible.

“What about Dr. Li? Isn’t she the best? Can’t she save my father?” Tanaka Koya looked around with red eyes.

Professor Tan immediately interrupted, “Mr. Tanaka, Dr. Li can’t do anything. She’s a specialist in Chinese medicine. How could she possibly fight against death? Don’t you think so?”

“But…” Tanaka Koya tried to say something, but Ito Keisuke stopped him.

“Enough. Even if you talk, what difference will it make? Let’s not argue. If they’re not willing to treat him, can you force them?” Ito Keisuke sneered.

“Let’s arrange it. I’ll immediately arrange a flight to send Mr. Tanaka back to R Country.” He continued.

“But it’s so far! What if my father dies on the way?” Tanaka Koya asked with concern.

“I don’t know. Do you have any other options? They won’t treat him,” Ito Keisuke retorted.

Tanaka Koya was silent for a moment and then lowered his head, “I have no other way.”

Soon, Li Yiyi heard He Wenyin come back and announce that Tanaka Koya had been taken away by his people.
