Chapter 32
Su Xiang Wei had delicate and gentle features. She spoke softly and seemed like a good girl, but in reality, she was more stubborn than anyone else.
Li Jin Yue had a more masculine appearance. She had thick, dark eyebrows, a high nose bridge, and was quite tall, about 5’7″. Just looking at her appearance, Li Jin Yue looked like an ancient female general, valiant and dashing.
But Li Jin Yue’s personality wasn’t like that. She was a bit clingy and a little timid.
Sa Ren had the typical Mongolian features. Her face was round like a silver basin, her eyes like water apricots, and she looked very blessed.
Lin Shu Yin thought Sa Ren looked like a popular Mongolian female singer from her previous life.
They looked very similar, both with very grand features.
As for Lin Shu Yin herself, the original owner was very beautiful.
Especially her eyes. She didn’t know what shape they were, something between almond eyes and phoenix eyes. They were very seductive and looked very affectionate.
The original owner’s appearance was bright and glamorous.
She had never worn a red dress. Lin Shu Yin thought that if the original owner had her hair permed in big waves, worn a red dress, and put on red lipstick, she would have been a killer!
Beautiful women are often a bit insecure. Li Jin Yue said, “I don’t think I’m pretty.”
“I feel like I look like a boy.”
“And my eyes are too big. They look like cow eyes. I don’t like my eyebrows either. They’re too thick and dark.”
“I like your eyes, Shu Yin. I like your eyebrows, Xiang Wei. I like your lips, Sa Ren.”
Sa Ren had a smile line, a standard M-shaped lip.
Lin Shu Yin liked it too.
Su Xiang Wei, “My eyebrows are drawn on. You can draw them on too.”
Sa Ren, “What’s so good about my mouth? I don’t like my mouth at all.”
As people say, it’s too perfect, too much like a lip.
Li Jin Yue, “I like it. Xiang Wei, why don’t you shape my eyebrows for me?”
She wanted to make some changes to her features. She couldn’t change her eyes, so she would shape her eyebrows and draw on her lips.
Su Xiang Wei, “Okay.”
They had nothing to do in the afternoon, so the three of them decided to give Li Jin Yue a makeover.
Li Jin Yue’s eyebrows were indeed thick. Usually, men’s eyebrows are a little thicker than women’s, but Lin Shu Yin felt that Li Jin Yue’s eyebrows were thicker than men’s.
Li Jin Yue wanted eyebrows like Su Xiang Wei’s. Su Xiang Wei had willow eyebrows, so they shaped them into willow eyebrows. People with thick eyebrows don’t need to draw them on even after shaping. They have wild eyebrows.
After Su Xiang Wei shaped her eyebrows, she shaved the fuzz on her face. This girl had a little mustache.
Out of the four of them, Su Xiang Wei had the most makeup. The other three only had a jar of face cream.
Of course, even with more makeup, there wasn’t as much as in later generations.
Su Xiang Wei only had eyebrow pencil, pearl powder, lip liner, body lotion, and hair oil.
But that was enough.
Li Jin Yue went to wash her face, and then Su Xiang Wei did her makeup.
After her makeup was done, Li Jin Yue looked at her face in the mirror and exclaimed in surprise, “Wow, I’ve changed so much. I finally look a little bit like a girl.”
Her eyebrows and eyes had been too thick before. After shaping her eyebrows, her eyes looked softer.
Sa Ren, “Then you should dress like this from now on.”
Li Jin Yue nodded, “Yeah, yeah.”
Then she thought, “Isn’t pearl powder expensive?”
Su Xiang Wei, “Three cents a bag.”
Li Jin Yue, “Then I can afford it.”
Out of the four of them, Li Jin Yue’s family was struggling financially. Her father had passed away, and she had younger siblings who were still in school. The burden fell entirely on her mother.
Luckily, she joined the army. She got a monthly allowance of six yuan, which helped her family a little.
Lin Shu Yin thought she wouldn’t see Shen Guan Nan until next Sunday. But she saw him again tonight.
“Why are you here again?”
Although she said that, Lin Shu Yin was happy inside. She was sweet.
“I missed you. I couldn’t help but come.” Shen Guan Nan naturally took her hand.
Lin Shu Yin teased, “Oh, Battalion Commander Shen, you’ve fallen into the trap of love.”
Shen Guan Nan chuckled, “Let me fall. I’m willing to be shot by you!”
Shen Guan Nan was a natural. He didn’t know anything about dating before, but after dating for less than half a day, he was already spouting sweet nothings.
Lin Shu Yin blushed.
She lightly pinched his waist, “Who taught you to say that?”
Shen Guan Nan looked innocent, “No one. I just said it when I saw you.”
“Do you know why?”
“Why?”
Shen Guan Nan, “Because I love you.” He said it with affection and seduction.
Lin Shu Yin was a little overwhelmed. This guy had been flirting with her for only half a day. What was he up to? Didn’t they say that people in this era were very reserved?
“Do you love me?” Shen Guan Nan asked.
Lin Shu Yin, “I love you. I love you very much.”
Shen Guan Nan, “Then kiss me.”
Lin Shu Yin, “…….Why can’t you kiss me?”
Why does she always have to be the one to kiss?
“You said it.”
Shen Guan Nan’s lips curled into a smile. Lin Shu Yin felt like she had been tricked. Was she the one who had fallen into the trap of love?
“Honey, can I call you that?” Shen Guan Nan’s voice was husky.
Lin Shu Yin blushed, “You can, in private.”
Shen Guan Nan, “Honey, your mouth is so soft and sweet. Did you eat candy?”
She was so embarrassed. This man, so serious on the surface, was so flirty in private.
Lin Shu Yin, “I don’t eat candy.”
“Ah, you don’t eat candy?” Shen Guan Nan suddenly asked.
Lin Shu Yin, “What’s wrong? I’m a singer. I try to eat less sweets. Otherwise, my voice will get hoarse and I won’t be able to sing high notes.”
Shen Guan Nan got up, “I bought you some food. There’s candy in it.”
“You bought me food?”
Shen Guan Nan opened the car door, “Yeah. I was afraid you wouldn’t have enough to eat here, so I bought some food. You can eat it when you’re hungry or if the food here isn’t good.”
“Are the sponge cake and almond cookies okay to eat?”
Lin Shu Yin shook her head, “Those are fine.”
Shen Guan Nan had bought her a big bag of snacks: sponge cake, rice cakes, almond cookies, two bags of milk powder, two cans of malt extract, two pounds of Big White Rabbit milk candy, and two cans of fruit.
He also had a jar of face cream.
“You can drink a cup of milk powder or malt extract every day. It’s nutritious. You’re nineteen now. You should still be growing. Put the face cream on your hands. Otherwise, your fingers will get chapped from working in the fields…” Shen Guan Nan nagged like an old father.
Lin Shu Yin wrapped her arms around his waist and looked up at him, “You’re so good to me?”
Shen Guan Nan stroked Lin Shu Yin’s hair and kissed her forehead, “Of course. You’re my wife. Who else would I be good to?”
Lin Shu Yin leaned her head against his chest and acted cute, “Guan Nan, I like you so much.”
She had dated four or five people in her previous life, but no one had ever taken care of her like this. It was a waste of time.
“Me too.” Shen Guan Nan stroked her hair.
“You see, we’ve only been dating for half a day, but I feel like we’ve been dating for months. We’re so familiar.” Lin Shu Yin mumbled.
Shen Guan Nan smiled, “Do you feel that way too? I told you, we’re a perfect match.”
He had felt it the moment he saw her on the train last year. It was destined, a feeling that they would be together.
