Shen Guannan had never seen Lin Shuoyin sleeping before. He leaned over and examined her carefully. Her eyelashes were so long, like a little brush.

He gently poked her cheek with his finger. It was so soft. He leaned closer and sniffed her. She smelled fragrant.

He decided that once the marriage report was approved, he would take leave and go see his parents.

He wanted to marry her, to marry her soon. He wanted to see her every day.

Lin Shuoyin slept soundly. She didn’t dream. Shen Guannan eventually fell asleep too.

When he woke up, he asked, “Are you hungry?”

Lin Shuoyin rubbed her eyes, “Not really. What time is it?”

“It’s two in the afternoon.”

“I slept for two hours. You should move around. Your limbs must be numb.”

Shen Guannan moved his feet, “They are a bit numb.” He lifted his leg and got out of the car with difficulty. He took two steps and almost fell. He quickly grabbed the car for support.

He held onto the car with one hand and his waist with the other.

Lin Shuoyin walked over to him, “Let me massage your back.” Your back must be sore from sitting for so long.

“Are you ticklish?”

“No.”

Shen Guannan put his shirt back on and pinched her nose, “Comrade Lin Shuoyin, you’re quite the lustful woman.”

Lin Shuoyin crossed her arms and said confidently, “I’m a woman. Of course, I lust after handsome men.”

Shen Guannan couldn’t argue with that.

“Let’s go eat.” He said helplessly.

Lin Shuoyin, “Okay.”

By the time they finished eating in the city, it was already four o’clock. It was getting late, they had to go back.

Shen Guannan sighed, “It’s time to separate again.”

Lin Shuoyin, “A brief separation is for a better reunion later.”

Even though he was reluctant, Shen Guannan had to send Lin Shuoyin back.

Sa Ren, Li Jin Yue, and Su Xiang Wei had already returned.

“Shuoyin, where did you go sightseeing today?”

They asked. Lin Shuoyin, “I went hiking. Big Green Mountain. We stayed on the mountain for a while, then went to eat, and then came back.”

“You bought shoes? No, wait, didn’t Shen Battalion Commander buy them for you?” Sa Ren stroked his chin.

Lin Shuoyin, “I went to the department store to buy yarn. He bought me a pair of shoes I don’t know when.”

“They look good. This year’s new style leather shoes. They cost eight yuan.”
