Zhou Jinchuan heard a howl coming from the alley and immediately rushed over.
When he entered the alley, he saw a familiar figure raising a stick to strike someone on the ground.
Zhou Jinchuan’s heart tightened, and he rushed towards the figure he had been thinking about, “Su Yi!”
Su Yi was just about to give the loudest one a final blow with her stick when she heard Zhou Jinchuan’s voice.
She was so startled that she dropped the stick.
“Zhou, Zhou Jinchuan? How did you come back?”
Zhou Jinchuan didn’t bother explaining, he ran over and hugged her into the light, “Let me see, are you hurt anywhere?”
Su Yi’s nose turned sour, and she said in a wronged tone, “I’m not hurt, but I almost scared myself to death.”
She then burrowed into Zhou Jinchuan’s arms, “Tianhua and I were riding our bikes past here, and these people stopped us. They didn’t say a word and knocked Tianhua unconscious. I don’t know if he’s okay now?”
Zhou Jinchuan checked her face and body with his eyes, seeing that she was really fine, he finally breathed a sigh of relief, “Tianhua is fine, he just fainted. Don’t worry.”
“But you, you scared the life out of me.”
The people lying on the ground had been howling, but when they heard someone coming, they all shut their mouths in fright.
But seeing the two of them talking to each other, they knew that the man was the famous Zhou Jinchuan.
They didn’t want to be discovered by him.
But their bodies were in so much pain that they couldn’t help but cry out, “Commander Zhou, you’re finally here. We’re about to be beaten to death!”
“Yeah, we were just passing by and trying to scare her, but she’s trying to kill us.”
As he spoke, Xie Xiaojun and Li Jianguo ran in as well.
They were also stunned when they saw the scene before them.
Seeing everyone howling, Zhou Jinchuan, who was holding Su Yi, finally remembered to ask, “What’s going on here? Did you do this?”
Su Yi gave a dry laugh and pulled at her lips, “I was so scared just now, I just happened to grab a stick, I had to—”
Before Su Yi could finish her sentence, Zhou Jinchuan nodded, “I understand. Where’s the stick?”
Su Yi quickly picked it up and handed it to him.
She was about to explain that she was acting in self-defense.
But Zhou Jinchuan took the stick and roared at the group, “All of you, get down in a line! Put your heads down and don’t move!”
Then, he told Xie Xiaojun to go report to the police and have them come handle it.
While they were waiting, many people had gathered around to watch the commotion.
Earlier, many people had heard the commotion coming from the alley.
They had only heard a few men screaming, but now that they were at the scene, they realized that the ones being beaten were the town’s notorious troublemakers.
“Serves them right! These guys are always loafing around, and now they dare to beat people and rob them. They deserve it!”
The few hooligans felt wronged, “You guys judge for yourselves. We weren’t beating anyone, we were clearly the ones being beaten. We didn’t even touch a finger.”
The few people knew how serious the situation was, especially with Zhou Jinchuan’s sudden return.
Now they were caught red-handed, and there was no way to frame someone else like they had planned.
They all wanted to downplay the situation and try to gain sympathy from everyone and forgiveness from Su Yi by using their injuries.
So, before the police arrived, they began kowtowing and apologizing to Su Yi.
“Boss Su, you’re a generous person, don’t hold a grudge against us. Although we hit your man with a stick, we each took more than ten sticks from you. It’s even now.”
“Yes, please have mercy and let us go!”
Su Yi saw how they were claiming in front of everyone how fierce she was and how she had beaten up so many people by herself.
She felt incredibly embarrassed.
She felt that her reputation for being tough would spread throughout the entire town starting tomorrow.
She wasn’t sure if it would affect her business.
Now that Zhou Jinchuan was by her side, she didn’t want to be in the spotlight anymore.
She just tugged on his arm pitifully, “They said it was a woman named Bai who came looking for them, asking them to lie in wait and harm me. She also said that after it was done, they should make it look like the escaped criminal.”
Zhou Jinchuan’s face turned as black as night when he heard that someone had deliberately tried to harm her and what they planned to do.
He asked in a stern voice, “Where is she? Where is she now?”
The few people dared not lie, so they quickly told him what they knew, “We don’t know where she went. She said she’d meet us at our shop after it was done tonight, but now that the situation has blown up, she definitely won’t come.”
“Yeah, but we sent someone to secretly follow her today. We found out she rented a room on the second floor across from Ruyi Sichuan Cuisine. We don’t know if she’s there now.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Xie Xiaojun arrived with the police.
Zhou Jinchuan quickly told Xie Xiaojun to go with the police to catch Bai Ruolin.
The rest of the police took the group of thugs away.
As they were leaving, the officer looked at Zhou Jinchuan, “Comrade Su, you’ll have to go with us and make a statement as well.”
Zhou Jinchuan glanced at Su Yi standing beside him, “She’s quite scared, I’ll take her back to rest for a night. We’ll go see you tomorrow morning.”
The officer saw Zhou Jinchuan say this and could only smile wryly, “Okay then.”
When he came earlier, he saw that the group of thugs had swollen eyes, only a slit remaining, and their bodies were covered in bruises.
Someone was even scared to pee their pants.
As for Su Yi standing before him, aside from her slightly messed up hair, he couldn’t tell she was scared at all. Her mental fortitude was truly impressive.
Those thugs were unlucky to have run into her.
But thankfully, nothing serious happened. If anything had happened to Su Yi, they wouldn’t have had an easy time later on.
As soon as the thugs were taken away, Xie Xiaojun ran over.
“Commander Zhou, no one’s in the room. It seems she never went back.”
“Call our people to help and continue searching. Seal off all the exits. We must find Bai Ruolin.”
“Yes.”
As soon as Xie Xiaojun agreed, he saw Lu Changzheng leading a group of people rushing over.
Apparently, he had just heard the phone call from the guard post saying something had happened in the town. He immediately led his men to the scene.
He was also terrified on the way here.
He didn’t know how to explain to Zhou Jinchuan.
But when he arrived, he saw Zhou Jinchuan and Su Yi standing together, looking fine.
It was the thugs who had just been taken away who looked terrible.
He quickly rushed up in relief, “Old Zhou, you came back just in time! Did you beat those people up?”
Su Yi, standing beside him, felt embarrassed again.
Before either of them could speak, Qin Yunfeng squeezed in quickly, “Su Yi, are you alright?”
