However, just thinking about the fact that these fruits were nurtured by spiritual spring water, their flavor must be absolutely exceptional.
At half yuan per half kilogram, Boss Qian would definitely make a profit.
It wasn’t as if she was taking too much advantage; after all, it was well worth the price.
Seeing that Su Niannian agreed, Boss Qian started calculating the total amount behind her.
This time, there was no sorghum or corn, but the quantities of wheat and rice had increased, and there were also four additional types of fruit.
“The total comes to three thousand and six hundred fifty five yuan.” Boss Qian calculated the final amount.
Boss Qian handed Su Niannian the list of calculations.
Su Niannian glanced at it and confirmed that the amount was correct.
Boss Qian then began handing her the money.
Fortunately, Boss Qian had brought a lot of cash today, otherwise, it would’ve really been insufficient.
He counted out seven hundred and ten ten-yuan bills.
Since each bill of the “Big Unity” was worth ten yuan, it looked just as much as the seventy thousand yuan behind it.
Su Niannian smiled with joy as she looked at the stacks of money, feeling a surge of good fortune.
After confirming that the amount was correct, she casually tossed the money into her basket.
Boss Qian watched her careless gesture and, though he wanted to remind her, he held back. This money was valuable, and perhaps it would be better to keep it more securely.
He had thought about saying this the last two times as well, but he believed Su Niannian was someone with a good head on her shoulders, so there was no need for him to meddle.
He just smiled at her instead.
Since Su Niannian had agreed to test the space’s functionality with Gu Nan today, she wasn’t in a hurry to leave. Instead, she waited in the courtyard while Boss Qian and the others made two trips back and forth to move things.
“Miss Su, do you have some time today? How about having lunch with your older brother?” Boss Qian asked when he saw that Su Niannian hadn’t left yet, after all the items had been loaded into the car.
Su Niannian waved her hand. “Next time, I still have things to do later.” She smiled as she responded.
Boss Qian understood. Su Niannian was a capable person, and since she had other matters to attend to, he didn’t press her.
After he pushed the bicycle, which had been left outside the courtyard, into the yard, he gave a greeting and then left with his younger brother and the second batch of goods.
Su Niannian closed the courtyard gate behind her and entered one of the rooms.
Although the room was empty, there was still a dirt kang. Su Niannian sat by the kang for a while, waiting until it was 11 o’clock, before finally entering the space.
Once inside the space, Su Niannian immediately pressed the button on the clock to activate the outside time flow.
The little one sensed Su Niannian’s arrival in the space and immediately jumped out of the chicken coop, darting straight toward her.
Su Niannian smiled as she watched the little one approach and gently patted its head.
The little one, clearly happy, ran around her in excitement.
After playing for a while, a familiar figure appeared nearby Su Niannian.
Seeing that it was Gu Nan entering the space, Su Niannian smiled happily.
“As expected! This is really great!” Su Niannian patted the little one’s head with one hand, looking at Gu Nan and smiling as she spoke.
A deep smile also spread across Gu Nan’s face.
Since the first test had been successful, it meant that even if they were in different places, they could still meet—just in the space.
Gu Nan walked over to Su Niannian and gave her a hug.
“This is really good. From now on, we can secretly meet anytime,” Su Niannian said with a joyful laugh.
Gu Nan gently stroked her hair, his smile deep and warm.
“By the way, let’s check that screen,” Su Niannian said as she patted Gu Nan’s back.
Gu Nan released the hug, then, pulling Su Niannian with him, led her over to the table where the clock was placed.
At the moment, the situation was that the two of them had entered the space from different locations. As Su Niannian had expected, the screen on the table was split in two.
On the left side, it displayed the outside situation before Su Niannian entered the space, showing the house she had rented. On the right side was Gu Nan’s room.
After completing his work tasks in the morning, Gu Nan had returned home. After entering his room, he then entered the space.
“We can test the second function now,” Su Niannian said as she took Gu Nan’s hand and led him toward the outside of the space.
As a result…
Su Niannian stepped out of the space, but Gu Nan didn’t follow her. She looked back at him, feeling a bit disappointed that he hadn’t come along.
Originally, the two had speculated that if they entered the space from different locations and one of them led the other to their own entry point, it would essentially be like teleporting.
Wouldn’t that be amazing?
Gu Nan was in the military, and Su Niannian was in Kaoshan Village. If they entered the space separately, and then when Su Niannian left, she could bring Gu Nan from the military back to Kaoshan Village with her—that would have been incredibly convenient.
Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out as they had expected.
With a feeling of disappointment, Su Niannian returned to the space.
“Didn’t work,” Su Niannian said with a downcast expression, clearly feeling disappointed.
Gu Nan noticed that his little one was upset, and it made him feel uneasy as well. He walked over to Su Niannian and pulled her into his embrace.
“Look on the bright side. We can already enter from two different places, and then meet in the space. That’s pretty good already,” he said, gently soothing her. “And the spiritual spring space is upgrading too, just like you said before.”
“Maybe when it upgrades next time, this function will be unlocked?” Gu Nan smiled as he tenderly stroked Su Niannian’s head, holding her tightly in his arms.
Su Niannian thought for a moment. Every time she and Gu Nan grew closer, the space seemed to upgrade. From the very beginning to now, it had already gone through two upgrades.
“Maybe the space still has the potential to upgrade,” Su Niannian thought to herself. “Perhaps next time, the function to bring someone from one side to the other will be unlocked.”
Feeling Gu Nan’s warmth and hearing his gentle words, Su Niannian quickly brushed away the small disappointment she had just felt.
“Mm, then let’s look forward to the next space upgrade,” she said with a smile.
“Honestly, this is already pretty good,” Su Niannian continued, her mood lightening. “Look, the space has so many things, and if time allows, we can meet here every day!”
“And there’s paper and pens in the space too, so we can leave messages for each other!” Su Niannian smiled brightly, dispelling the earlier cloud of unhappiness.
It’s important to look at things in a positive light, and the current situation is already quite good.
Su Nian Nian smiled, and Gu Nan gently patted her head.
“The time flow outside is still on, I need to head out first. You should go home early too, I’ll be waiting for you at home!” After kissing Su Niannian on the forehead, Gu Nan said.
Even though the two of them had already become more intimate, Su Niannian still felt a tingling sensation, as if an electric current had run through her body, from just the kiss on her forehead.
