Chapter 20 : Is this the feeling of being in love?
Ye Suiwan looked into Jiang Suiran’s eyes, filled with anger.
“I like him. I fell in love with him at first sight. Don’t you know me? How could I marry him if I don’t like him?”
Jiang Sui observed Ye Suiwan and realized she was being sincere.
“Okay.”
“Jiang Sui, thank you!”
Ye Suiwan felt a slight tear in her eyes.
“Don’t cry. It’s my fault for not taking better care of you. If your second brother finds out, he’ll definitely blame me. You should talk to him more when the time comes.”
Jiang Sui’s tone softened.
“Okay, my second brother listens to me the most.”
“I’ll go first, they’re still waiting.”
Ye Suiwan said with a playful smile and left.
Zhou Jingjing and Miao Yan had been watching closely. If Jiang Sui had dared to hurt Ye Suiwan, they would have stepped in.
“I was scared to death. Jiang Sui was so scary just now.”
Miao Yan patted her chest in relief.
“He won’t hurt me.”
“Let’s go see that guy!”
Ye Suiwan didn’t even want to say his name.
“Okay, let’s go. Suiwan, is she…?”
Ye Suiwan turned to look at Zhou Jingjing, who had a curious face.
“I understand, I understand everything!”
Zhou Jingjing spoke proudly, as if she were an older sister who knew all the details.
“You guessed it right!”
Ye Suiwan satisfied her curiosity, knowing that Zhou Jingjing wouldn’t gossip.
“Oh my god, she must have offended someone!”
Miao Yan was confused but didn’t ask more, simply listening when told.
By the time Sun Qianqian returned to the dormitory, Li Luo and another female educated youth, Qin Fang, were already there. They clearly knew what was going on.
“Suiwan, I knew you’d come. You’re the only one who can help me. I don’t want to marry that man. I don’t want to.”
Sun Qianqian cried as she saw Ye Suiwan at the door.
“No one can help you with this. No one needs to explain your situation to you now.”
“If you don’t get married, I’m afraid the one who will find you will be someone else.”
“Or you could report it to the police.”
Ye Suiwan knew that Sun Qianqian wouldn’t dare do that, so she proposed it.
“Sun Qianqian, my dad can’t help you, but he’ll look after you in the future.”
“Anyway, I’m leaving. The Xiao family will come to propose marriage tomorrow. There’s nothing wrong with marrying a local!”
“After all, you’re marrying a gangster, while I’m marrying an officer.”
With those words, Ye Suiwan turned to leave, glancing back with a dangerous yet beautiful smile.
“You should rest early, we’re leaving too!”
Li Luo didn’t want to stay either. She hadn’t expected Sun Qianqian to be like this.
“Let’s go!”
Sun Qianqian couldn’t understand why the fate that should’ve fallen on Ye Suiwan was now on her.
She didn’t dare report to the police.
Did she guess who those people were?
She hadn’t expected that Wang Erniu would actually be willing to marry her. But if she didn’t, she would be criticized, and her hair would be shaved. She didn’t want that.
She thought it was fine to marry first, and soon, Uncle Ye would be her father.
Her mother was powerful enough to make sure Uncle Ye would marry her, and then he would definitely arrange for a divorce.
Even if it meant marrying for a second time, she wouldn’t be criticized or sent to a farm full of prisoners.
Besides, didn’t Ye Suiwan also marry a peasant?
So what if he’s an officer? He’s still a peasant.
Ye Suiwan didn’t know that Sun Qianqian would accept this reasoning.
She was in such a good mood.
As soon as she returned to her room, she entered the space.
“Ahhh~”
She shouted toward the misty mountains in the distance.
[Master, are you feeling well?]
Xiaobao asked nervously.
“Hahaha, Xiaobao, I’m so happy.”
“Those who bring evil upon themselves deserve retribution.”
“Don’t you think?”
She was thrilled with the success of her plan. Though the details weren’t clear, the goal had been achieved.
[Yes, yes, yes, everything the master does is right. Since you’re so happy, why not plant a few more acres of land to celebrate?]
Ye Suiwan: “…”
[Master, please don’t leave…]
After returning to her room, Ye Suiwan brushed her teeth, washed her face, and prepared to pack her luggage.
Her dowry would be 50 kilograms of flour, 50 kilograms of rice, and 20 kilograms of peanut oil.
She also had two boxes of biscuits, four cans of braised pork, a thin quilt and a thick quilt items her family had sent to her.
She thought of everything Sun Qianqian had taken from her and planned to have her mother return them.
She had to write a list.
“Xiaobao, do you have space for flour, rice, and peanut oil?”
Xiaobao: “…” Humph. Xiaobao has a temper.
“No words? Then I’ll stop farming!”
“Fine, I won’t bother you anymore. But not farming will definitely have consequences.”
[Yes, you can plant wheat and peanuts tomorrow, and flour, rice, and peanut oil will be produced automatically after the harvest. You don’t need to do anything except for planting.]
“Oh, I see. Get back, I need to work!”
Actually, Ye Suiwan: “… Ahhh, this is amazing, so happy!”
But Xiaobao must never know this, or he’ll be so proud.
She continued rummaging through her luggage. There were so many wonderful things!
She packed everything, except for some things she planned to take to the Xiao family, and stored the rest in the space.
There was also furniture.
The two wooden boxes, the dressing table, the chairs, the small dining table, and the bathtub were all crafted by a carpenter after she arrived.
In addition, she had thermoses, iron pots, casseroles, and small stoves. Everything was so complete.
She would take these items to the Xiao family.
She wouldn’t take them with her when she joined the army. She’d buy new ones when the time came, hoping that her time mall would open by then.
She eagerly anticipated what was inside.
It was getting late, and time to rest.
Ye Suiwan looked out the window and realized Xiao Yuyan hadn’t come tonight.
Just as she was about to turn off the lights, she heard a soft knocking sound.
“Ayan?”
Ye Suiwan quickly walked to the window.
“It’s me!”
The window was open, and his handsome face appeared.
“Missed me?”
Ye Suiwan smiled sweetly and softly spoke, her voice sounding even more tender.
“Well, did I disturb you by saying goodnight?”
Xiao Yuyan hadn’t originally intended to knock on the window. He simply came to look at her, and then he’d leave. He missed her terribly.
He’d arrived, saw the light in her room, and couldn’t resist saying hello.
Of course, he wasn’t going to admit this.
“No, I’m happy you came. I missed you, too.”
“I was just getting ready for bed, tidying up.”
Ye Suiwan turned sideways, letting him take a look.
“I’ll help you, then. Don’t tire yourself.”
Xiao Yuyan frowned.
“Okay, go back. I’ll wait for you tomorrow.”
As he spoke, he pulled her gently towards him and gave her a light kiss.
When he tried to withdraw, Xiao Yuyan held her and deepened the kiss.
After everyone left, Ye Suiwan rolled over in bed, covering her face.
Is this what it feels like to be in love?
