Chapter 28 : So she wants to destroy her!
After returning to the house, Ye Suiwan locked the door and looked at the items in the bag.
A piece of red cloth, two cans of food, two bottles of malted milk, two tins of biscuits, a flashlight, and two bottles of vanishing cream ten items in total, all exquisite and generous.
However, Jiang Sui had always been very generous to her. She would treat him well in the future and make more food for him.
Other than the red cloth, these things weren’t immediately useful, so she stored them away.
She checked the time. It was still early the sky hadn’t completely darkened yet, and Xiao Yuyan wouldn’t be coming until later. She decided to enter her space and take a quick shower first. The weather outside was still stuffy, and she smelled of oil and smoke from cooking earlier.
After her shower, Ye Suiwan lit the kerosene lamp and took out her sewing kit. There happened to be a piece of red cloth in it. She planned to sew herself a short-sleeved red blouse to wear on her wedding day. She would pair it with black straight-leg pants and white Warrior sneakers, perfect.
As for the military uniform, she didn’t want to wear it, so she would let Xiao Yuyan wear it.
She had worn them since childhood, her family never lacked military uniforms.
Ye Suiwan had learned to sew from her mother, who often made clothes for her when she was little.
The design popped into her mind naturally as she thought about it.
Was this considered a golden finger?
Without overthinking, she quickly started working, first cutting the fabric and then preparing to sew it.
Summer clothes were relatively easy to make.
Just as she finished cutting, she heard a knock on the window.
Ye Suiwan knew it was Xiao Yuyan. They had a prearranged signal.
She wrapped the pancakes from dinner in oiled paper, placed them in a small basket, and then opened the window.
“What time are we leaving tomorrow morning?”
Ye Suiwan asked with a smile, her bright eyes dazzling even in the dim light.
“Six o’clock?”
“Would that be too early for you?”
Xiao Yuyan was momentarily dazed by her smile, then reached out, ruffled her hair, and asked.
“Six is a bit late! Let’s go at five, I can wake up.”
Ye Suiwan thought for a moment and realized she would be heading to bed soon, so getting up early wouldn’t be a problem.
“Alright!”
Xiao Yuyan didn’t mind, any time worked for him.
“Here, I made these this afternoon. Take them back for Auntie and Nuannuan, they can have them for breakfast.”
“They should be fine overnight, but just in case, you can hang them in the well to keep them fresh.”
Food was scarce these days, and most families never had leftovers.
“Mmm, I can smell how good they are. Thank you for your hard work, Wanwan.”
Xiao Yuyan felt a warmth in his heart. His wife was turning out to be even more interesting than he had imagined.
“Then go home. You have to wake up early tomorrow!”
Seeing that the man had received his gift, Ye Suiwan gave him a little push to send him off.
“Wanwan!”
Xiao Yuyan called out in a low voice.
Ye Suiwan felt like he was teasing her.
“Come closer.”
He pecked her lips.
“Satisfied? Let’s check tomorrow and see if our marriage approval has been processed.”
Sigh, this man really couldn’t wait to marry her!
“Alright!”
Xiao Yuyan obediently closed the window and walked away reluctantly, fearing that if he stayed longer, he wouldn’t be able to hold back.
Ye Suiwan returned to the table, put away her unfinished sewing, and decided to finish it tomorrow.
Time for bed.
To ensure a good night’s sleep, she drank a glass of spiritual spring water.
Meanwhile, at Wang Erniu’s house in the village—
“You little bitch, because you offended Ye Suiwan, we didn’t even get a share of the pork today!”
“Give me some money. I want to eat pork, hurry, hurry!”
“You wretched girl, my son is so unlucky. He marries you, so you’ll be our servant for life!”
Widow Wang kept twisting Sun Qianqian’s arm. Sun was already barely conscious from what Wang Erniu had done to her, yet Widow Wang still needed to vent her anger.
“Mom, don’t go too far. We need to wait until her mother comes from Beijing.”
Wang Erniu reminded her while sitting leisurely at the door, smoking.
“I know, I know, son, don’t worry.”
“Are you talking about Ye Suiwan…?”
“Mom, that’s not someone we can afford to mess with. Just stay away from her next time, got it?”
Before Widow Wang could finish her sentence, Wang Erniu cut her off.
He had no interest in provoking that living hellhound. Who would have thought someone so delicate-looking could be so ruthless? And that was before even considering Xiao Yuyan.
Thinking about Ye Suiwan, Wang Erniu resented Sun Qianqian even more.
If Sun Qianqian hadn’t gotten involved, wouldn’t his life have been fine?
Now, what about his future?
Damn it. Why had he agreed to help her in the first place?
He had been careless. He hadn’t paid enough attention to the village and hadn’t done his research beforehand.
He had only thought about making easy money. Who knew he’d end up tangled in such a big mess?
He needed to plan his next steps carefully. He had a feeling that Ye Suiwan and Xiao Yuyan wouldn’t let them off so easily.
They probably had something up their sleeves.
So, before anything happened, he had to squeeze everything he could out of Sun Qianqian and then get rid of her. Once he had enough money, he could buy another virgin girl.
“Alright, Mom understands!”
Widow Wang was a notorious shrew in the village, but she was utterly obedient to her son.
A few years ago, he used to bring back large stacks of cash, and she never questioned where they came from. She just thought her son was capable.
Now, he had even quietly married a beautiful female educated youth from a wealthy Beijing family.
Her good days were just beginning!
It didn’t bother her how her daughter-in-law was treated. After all, weren’t all daughters-in-law treated this way?
The only downside was that since this girl came into the house, her son never went out anymore.
Was he not making money?
Before, he would disappear for days.
What could she do? She could only keep demanding money from her daughter-in-law.
Meanwhile, Sun Qianqian, half-conscious, felt as if she were trapped in hell. The endless curses around her rang in her ears. She wanted to wake up, but she couldn’t open her eyes.
She missed her mother.
She never should have come to the countryside.
Why? Why?
She had only ever had a father who died early, while Ye Suiwan’s father held a high-ranking position.
She had a selfish mother who saw her as nothing more than a pawn, while Ye Suiwan had a wealthy mother who always cared for her.
She was alone, but Ye Suiwan had two brothers who adored her.
Ever since entering the compound, she had been nothing more than Ye Suiwan’s little follower.
Then, one day, she realized she could control Ye Suiwan.
And from that moment on, she wanted to take everything from her. But in the end, she had only set herself up for destruction.
The next day, Sun Qianqian woke up screaming.
Seeing the dark, filthy hut, she ran outside and vomited.
“You little bitch, hurry up and get to work! Or do you want to pay for your work points?”
Widow Wang beat her with a stick.
