70s Rebirth: The Captivating Beauty’s Flash Military Wedding Chapter 34

Chapter 34 : If I Reject You, Will You Not Kiss Me?

“The day after tomorrow, I’ll trouble you, Auntie,” Xiao Yuyan thanked her. Since he didn’t have many relatives in Xiangyang Brigade and the banquet required extra hands, he didn’t refuse her help.

“Yuyan, come with me,” Jiang Aijun called.

He happened to have the necessary document at home, so he could fill it out on the way and avoid making an extra trip to the brigade.

“Okay, Uncle,” Xiao Yuyan replied.

As he walked inside, he placed his basket next to Ye Suiwan’s.

Aunt Hongxia noticed and smiled.

“Come, girl Ye, chat with your aunt for a while. Then I’ll have Yuyan take you back to the educated youth camp,” she said.

“Okay, Auntie,” Ye Suiwan agreed.

Aunt Hongxia quickly poured a bowl of water, and the two of them sat on a stone bench in the yard.

“Aunt, on my way here, I overheard some of the other ladies talking about the secretary’s daughter,” Ye Suiwan said, hinting at her question without revealing too much.

“Don’t believe them,” Aunt Hongxia waved it off. “Let me tell you, Yuyan only comes back once every few years. If you showed him the secretary’s daughter now, he probably wouldn’t even recognize her.”

“But I won’t hide it from you. For the past year, that girl has been openly or subtly claiming she’s interested in Yuyan. She’s a grown woman, yet she has no shame.”

“By the way, she and her mother went to the county for a few days, but they’ll be back tomorrow.”

“Oh, don’t be alone tomorrow,” Aunt Hongxia warned. “I’m afraid that girl will try something against you. The secretary’s family spoils her too much, she’s lawless.”

“Once you and Yuyan are officially married, if she still tries to interfere, it’ll be considered an offense against a military marriage.”

“Don’t worry, the secretary is a smart man. He’ll probably keep her in check, but you should still be careful,” she advised.

Aunt Hongxia had learned about the military marriage law from her husband and shared what she knew.

Ye Suiwan had no prior knowledge of this.

It seemed she would have to deal with it as it came.

With Xiao Yuyan’s handsome face and military status, it was inevitable that women would take notice. There would likely be similar troubles in the future.

After all, not everyone understood boundaries when it came to other people’s men.

But Xiao Yuyan was hers now. If someone kept eyeing him, that would be disrespectful. And if they actually tried something, she wouldn’t hold back.

No matter who they were, the daughter of a secretary or not she wasn’t going to let anyone cross the line.

“Okay, thank you, Auntie,” Ye Suiwan smiled.

“No need to thank me,” Aunt Hongxia waved it off. “If she bullies you, come straight to me. I’ll go to her house and deal with her myself! Others might be afraid of the secretary’s daughter, but I’m not.”

“Ah, if only I had a daughter like you,” Aunt Hongxia sighed. “My household is full of mischievous boys.”

“Auntie, you’re so lucky! You raised your sons very well. I saw them yesterday,” Ye Suiwan praised sincerely.

“Hahaha!”

Aunt Hongxia had three sons, which made many women in the village envious.

Just then, Jiang Aijun and Xiao Yuyan returned.

“Boss, Yuyan, are you done with your work?” Aunt Hongxia asked.

“Yes, Auntie. I won’t keep you up any longer. I’ll take Wanwan back now,” Xiao Yuyan said. “And I’ll trouble you again on the day of the wedding banquet. You and Uncle must come and have a drink with us.”

“Why are you being so polite, boy? Go on now. If you hadn’t come, I would’ve had to send my sons to escort Ye girl back!” Aunt Hongxia teased.

She walked them to the gate, and Xiao Yuyan thanked her before they left.

By now, it was already dark, and the villagers had all gone home.

Without hesitation, Xiao Yuyan took Ye Suiwan’s hand.

“Wanwan, I didn’t expect you to be here too. Are we this in sync?” he asked, tilting his head slightly to look at her.

Ye Suiwan smiled, her face looking even fairer under the night sky.

“Yes. Now take me back so we can get some rest. Didn’t you already nap earlier?” she asked.

“I did, but I was cleaning up our wedding room,” he admitted.

“Wanwan, I’m really looking forward to it,” he said, his voice husky with anticipation.

The deep timbre sent shivers down her spine, making her slightly uneasy.

“Shut up,” she muttered.

As they neared the educated youth camp, Xiao Yuyan suddenly pulled her behind a large tree near the entrance. He had already checked, there was no one around.

“Can I kiss you?” he asked, his large hand brushing against her lips.

“If I say no, will you really not kiss me?” she challenged, looking him straight in the eyes.

The next second, his lips were on hers.

Xiao Yuyan’s kiss was deep and possessive, stealing her breath little by little.

When she was nearly out of air, he finally let her go.

“Wanwan, I’ll treat you well,” he promised.

“Mm… You should go back now. I’ll go inside myself,” she said, still catching her breath.

“Let me hold you a little longer,” he murmured.

She didn’t refuse, though her body still felt weak.

A moment later, she dashed straight into the educated youth camp and locked the door behind her.

Only then did a thought hit her, how had Xiao Yuyan been sneaking in at night before?

“Did he climb over the wall?” she whispered to herself before heading toward the dormitory.

“You’re back?”

Jiang Sui’s voice startled her.

“You idiot, Jiang Sui! Don’t you know scaring people like that can kill them?” she scolded, patting her chest.

“Who knew you’d be so lost in your thoughts?” he chuckled.

“I was worried because you were out so late.”

“Did he send you back?”

Jiang Sui bombarded her with questions.

“Yes, I’m back,” she confirmed.

“Oh, by the way, when you call my second brother, don’t forget to call home as well. Go ahead and join the army,” she reminded him.

“Got it. I’ve already arranged for someone to look into what you asked me about,” Jiang Sui reassured her.

“Besides, I’ll definitely wait until you’ve settled into the army before I leave. Otherwise, I’ll come with you just to see where you live,” he added.

“No need. Wait until I’m settled first. Then you and my second brother can come visit me,” Ye Suiwan insisted.

“Alright, that works too. Now go shower and get some sleep. You have to get your marriage certificate first thing in the morning,” Jiang Sui urged.

“Yeah, you should sleep too! I’m heading home now,” she said before heading off.
