Chapter 36 : Get the marriage certificate and take wedding photos.
[Master, you have to get up early tomorrow morning, go to bed quickly.]
[There’s no rush to learn, learning never ends!]
Xiaobao continued to chatter.
Ye Suiwan looked at the time. It was already past 8 PM outside. It was time to go to bed.
“Xiaobao, you will be my favorite Xiaobao from now on. Don’t worry, I will farm well and study hard. You really helped me a lot. Good night, I’m going out now.”
Ye Suiwan didn’t give Xiaobao a chance to react. She closed the book and left the space.
She was really excited!
And she was certain that she was genuinely interested in books and research on weapons.
Besides, if she made achievements in her studies, she had a legitimate reason.
Her grandfather and father were both soldiers, though her grandfather had died heroically.
As a descendant of a military family, it wouldn’t be difficult for others to believe that she loved weapons, studied them, had great talent, and was self-taught.
Look, she had already thought of all this, so what reason did she have not to study hard?
And if she truly got the attention of the higher-ups, she would request to keep her identity confidential.
Unless absolutely necessary, this little secret would stay hidden until the time came for a grand reveal. As for what title or position would make others fear her, that would depend on how they arranged it.
Because weapons experts were different from other professions, they might often have to conduct research in closed laboratories. But Ye Suiwan didn’t want to stay in a lab forever; she had more things to do.
Moreover, certain countries and organizations would try every means to take her life.
After all, if weapons with great destructive power were developed, the consequences would be severe!
Therefore, the organization should leave her alone and simply receive her designs and research results regularly.
Of course, all of this depended on whether she was truly extraordinary!
After all, only capable people had the right to make demands. At this moment, though, she was just making plans for the future.
She decided to study in the space for six hours daily, leaving only half an hour outside. Finding that half hour alone wouldn’t be too difficult.
As she lay on the bed thinking, Ye Suiwan drifted off to sleep, dreaming of a bright future.
—
The next morning, when Xiaobao woke her up, there was a smile on her face. She got up in a good mood, freshened up, and went out.
Today, she was going to get her marriage certificate!
Did this mean she had achieved success in both career and love?
When she opened the door of the educated youth center, Xiao Yuyan was already waiting.
The man was dressed in a military uniform, looking incredibly handsome, exuding an irresistible charm.
Ye Suiwan was momentarily dazed.
A moment later, she said shyly, “Ayan, you’re here?”
“Yeah, very excited.” I barely slept all night.
He had never imagined he would be able to marry the woman of his dreams, and he could see the love for him in her eyes.
The revolutionary friendship they had built while running toward each other would surely bring them happiness.
“Let’s go!”
Ye Suiwan, flustered from accidentally admiring his good looks, hurriedly jumped onto the back seat and wrapped her arms around his waist.
From the start, she hadn’t done this out of gratitude but because she had truly fallen for this man.
They were destined to be together in this life.
On the way, the two remained silent, each lost in their thoughts.
Both assumed the other was just being shy.
Soon, they arrived at the commune’s marriage registration office.
The moment they entered, they caught the attention of the staff.
They had seen many couples before, but never one so well-matched and pleasing to the eye. Naturally, the phrase “a match made in heaven” came to mind.
But the young couple before them was the first to truly deserve such words.
The man was handsome, and the woman was fair-skinned and beautiful.
Xiao Yuyan walked up to a middle-aged woman and placed a handful of wedding candies on the table.
“Hello, comrade, we’re here to register our marriage.”
After speaking, he handed over the necessary documents.
The middle-aged woman snapped out of her daze and, seeing the handful of White Rabbit milk candies, immediately smiled.
These days, generous people would give two pieces of hard candy, while stingy ones gave nothing. It was rare to see such generosity.
“Alright!”
After reviewing the documents, she kept nodding in approval.
No wonder the man had an extraordinary aura. He wasn’t just wearing a borrowed military uniform, he was an active-duty officer.
Soon, the two of them received their marriage certificate, which looked like an award certificate.
They smiled at each other, bid farewell to the staff, and left.
—
After stepping outside, Xiao Yuyan was in an exceptionally good mood.
“Wife, let me hold it.”
Saying this, he put the certificate into his military bag.
Ye Suiwan, caught off guard by his use of “wife,” nodded without thinking.
It would be best to store it in her space, but she hadn’t told Xiao Yuyan about her spatial ability yet at least not now.
“Wife, shall we go to the county town to take wedding photos?”
He wanted to carry it with him at all times. Today was their wedding day, a moment worth commemorating.
Ye Suiwan had no objections. She also wanted to buy a watch for Xiao Yuyan and hoped to come across one.
“Alright!”
“Then let’s go. I’ll drop off the bicycle at Song Ning’s place first.”
“Oh, by the way, wife, do you know how to ride a bicycle?”
Xiao Yuyan suddenly thought to ask.
“Yes.”
Then, he would give her a little surprise on the way back.
They passed by a state-owned restaurant, where Xiao Yuyan went in and bought six large meat buns.
He figured his wife hadn’t had breakfast.
Once they got on the bus, they ate quickly, planning to have a proper meal at a state-owned restaurant at noon.
“I’m full,” Ye Suiwan said after eating just one bun.
“Alright.”
Xiao Yuyan finished the rest.
“Ayan, aren’t your younger brothers studying in the county school? Should we pick them up today?”
“And your eldest sister, let’s have her come too.”
Ye Suiwan suddenly felt like she had forgotten something!
“Okay, then let’s go to their school after taking the photos. I think Hehe should be able to come home tomorrow.”
It was more complicated for Xiao Hehe to take leave from work, but the two younger boys could easily get leave from school.
“Yes, sounds good!”
Xiao Yuyan didn’t ask how she knew about this. It seemed like he had never mentioned it, and in truth, he had been too busy to even remember. He just assumed she had heard it from the villagers.
As usual, Ye Suiwan took a nap on the bus, and when she woke up, they had just arrived.
Xiao Yuyan took her to the photo studio first.
Back then, there was only one state-owned photo studio in the county, and it wasn’t too busy since not many people took photos.
The two had great chemistry, and at the perfect moment, they both smiled at the camera, capturing a beautiful image.
“Hahaha, what a feast for the eyes! I haven’t seen such a good-looking couple in a long time,” the photographer praised enthusiastically.
“How many copies do you want?”
“I want one in every size, including the negatives. Please don’t display our photos publicly, I’m an active-duty soldier,” Xiao Yuyan replied.
“Oh, good thing you mentioned it! I was about to suggest using it as a display poster. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to give you the negatives.”
“The photos will be ready in three days not sooner, but possibly later.”
The photographer gave his instructions.
“Alright, thank you, sir. We’ll be leaving now.”
After paying and receiving the receipt, the two left.
“Ayan, let’s split up. You go find my sister and brothers, and I’ll shop at the department store.”
“If I finish first, I’ll wait for you at the state-owned restaurant.”
“Don’t worry, I can handle this myself,” Ye Suiwan assured him confidently.
