Chapter 124: Love Time
Yu Xiangyang stood between them, separating their gazes, and said to Cheng Jingmo, “I’m a guest! I want braised pork.”
Cheng Jingmo’s gaze went past Yu Xiangyang, looking at Yu Xiangnian, “Can you tell me how to make it?”
Yu Xiangnian recalled the recipe she had seen in short videos and gave a rough explanation.
Cheng Jingmo said, “I’ll make it. It’ll be ready soon.”
Yu Xiangyang: “…”
He wasn’t even asked about his preferences! Was he not eating then?!
Watching Cheng Jingmo enter the kitchen, Yu Xiangyang took a closer look at Yu Xiangnian.
He initially wanted to give her some advice on how to tease Cheng Jingmo in the future, but he noticed Yu Xiangnian’s lips were red and swollen, with a small bruise on her lower lip.
Cheng Jingmo’s injury was in that exact spot.
Even Yu Xiangyang, who had never encountered such a situation, understood what was going on now!
He felt a pang of sourness in his heart, like seeing his own cabbage being trampled by pigs.
It was the same feeling as when Yu Xiangnian got married.
Yu Xiangnian then noticed Yu Xiangyang staring at her and remembered what happened last night, so she asked, “Yu Xiangyang, are you in a relationship? I saw you at the cinema last night.”
Yu Xiangyang replied irritably, “Who am I in a relationship with?! I was at home last night, stop making things up!”
Yu Xiangnian wondered if she had really mistaken someone.
“Then why are you so angry for no reason?” she asked.
Yu Xiangyang was even more upset, “Cheng Jingmo said you’re a dog!”
Yu Xiangnian’s face flushed slightly.
How could Cheng Jingmo talk about everything with Yu Xiangyang!
“He said I’m a dog, and you didn’t beat him up to get revenge for me?” she asked.
Yu Xiangyang: “…”
At that time, he actually thought there was a real dog at home! He was foolishly looking for the dog!
“I’ll go beat him up now!”
Yu Xiangyang followed into the kitchen, where Cheng Jingmo was preparing dough.
“Cheng Jingmo, you’re the real dog!” Yu Xiangyang said indignantly.
Cheng Jingmo said, “Peel two potatoes.”
Yu Xiangyang picked up the potatoes and started peeling them, “You’re doing this on purpose! I’m worried sick about you two, and you’re deliberately showing off in front of me?”
Cheng Jingmo said, “Also, pick some green beans.”
Yu Xiangyang said, “Xiangnian is closest to me, so from now on, I’ll make her ignore you!”
Cheng Jingmo said, “You should also stir-fry some tomatoes, and pick a tomato.”
Yu Xiangyang slammed the potatoes onto the counter, “Are you addicted to bossing me around? I’m your older brother!”
Cheng Jingmo said, “You’re only one year younger than me.”
“Then you’re just an old cow eating tender grass!”
“I’m going to tell Yu Xiangnian now that the person at the cinema last night was you.”
Yu Xiangyang: “…”
He shouldn’t have come today!
He ate very little of the braised noodles, feeling like he had eaten a mouthful of dog food, and grumbled back to his dorm!
After dinner, Xiao Jie went out to play, and Cheng Jingmo and Yu Xiangnian walked around the family quarters to digest.
The residents had slowly gotten used to seeing the two of them appearing like a couple, and there were no more whispering groups like before.
Back at home, Cheng Jingmo really started studying.
He began with the first-grade textbooks, mastering the knowledge quickly, finishing in just over half an hour.
Then, he eagerly glanced towards the bedroom, waiting with anticipation.
But soon, he went back to studying.
When Yu Xiangnian came out to take a break, Cheng Jingmo had already moved on to second-grade textbooks.
“Is there anything you don’t understand?” Yu Xiangnian asked.
The two of them agreed that if they encountered any issues, they wouldn’t disturb Yu Xiangnian immediately but would wait until she took a break to explain.
“There’s nothing,” Cheng Jingmo said.
“That’s good. Keep up the good work,” Yu Xiangnian replied.
She stretched her neck, twisted her waist, and moved around a bit to loosen her muscles before returning to the bedroom to continue working.
Cheng Jingmo studied earnestly, and the night passed quickly.
After everyone had washed up, they each went to their rooms.
As soon as they closed the bedroom door, the two of them eagerly kissed.
The time spent in romance was sweet and flew by quickly.
In mid-November, Yu Xiangnian finished translating a book and received a payment of 1,060 yuan.
Another publisher contacted her, asking her to translate for them at the rate of two yuan per thousand words, which Yu Xiangnian gladly accepted.
It was Sunday, and the three of them got up early to go to the beach to gather seafood.
While chatting with Cheng Jingmo, Yu Xiangnian found out he had never been to gather seafood before, so she decided to go today.
They rode bicycles for over an hour to reach the beach.
The three of them wore hats and rain boots and carried buckets, shovels, and tongs as they walked along the sand.
The tide had just receded, leaving many things behind on the beach.
They picked up things as they walked. Yu Xiangnian found a cat’s eye shell and deliberately held it up to Cheng Jingmo’s face to show him.
At the same time, she splashed water on him by squeezing the shell.
Cheng Jingmo wiped his face with his hand, and Yu Xiangnian laughed heartily.
There was a crab ahead, and Yu Xiangnian used the tongs to scare Cheng Jingmo.
The crab waved its large pincers in front of Cheng Jingmo’s face, and Cheng Jingmo stared back at it.
Cheng Jingmo grabbed a shrimp and placed it on Yu Xiangnian’s hand in retaliation!
Xiao Jie watched the two of them and thought it was better to play at home.
His uncle, who always had a cold expression, was now being teased by his aunt, and was smiling helplessly and affectionately.
Now, the two of them were standing by a large rock.
His aunt held an oyster and whispered something in his uncle’s ear, causing his uncle’s ears to turn red.
Then, his uncle warned his aunt in a serious tone, “Yu Xiangnian, stop talking nonsense.”
His aunt said, “I’m not talking nonsense. If you don’t believe me, try it yourself!”
His uncle replied, “Are you brave enough to try it?”
It was rare to see his aunt shrink back, and she timidly said, “Let’s talk about it later, okay?”
“Yu Xiangnian, you’re driving me crazy.”
Two hours later, the tide started coming in, and the three of them had filled a bucket. They prepared to go home.
Back at home, they put the collected seafood into containers and each went to take a shower.
For dinner, they had a table full of seafood: steamed crabs and shrimp, and stir-fried various kinds of scallops.
There were also two octopuses and a few oysters in a bucket, saved for the next day.
The evening with the three of them was particularly warm and fulfilling.
Yu Xiangnian was translating in the bedroom while Cheng Jingmo and Xiao Jie were studying in the living room.
In the past, when Yu Xiangnian talked to Xiao Jie about the importance of studying, he didn’t care much. Now, under Cheng Jingmo’s guidance, Xiao Jie had started studying on his own initiative.
Every night when the bedroom door was closed, it was Cheng Jingmo’s happiest and most difficult time.
Through recent practice, both of their kissing skills had greatly improved.
Cheng Jingmo was no longer satisfied, but Yu Xiangnian kept refusing.
Tonight, Cheng Jingmo’s lips had reached Yu Xiangnian’s collarbone, but he was stopped again!
