Chapter 114: Thoughts
Gu Qingan furrowed his brow and thought carefully for a moment. Soon, he remembered the girl’s identity.
He had indeed seen her before. She was the niece of their division commander.
She had even accompanied the commander to their unit a while back.
Thinking of this, Gu Qingan flashed a charming smile, “I’m really sorry about that. I was in a hurry. How about this, I’ll treat you to dinner as an apology.”
Meeting Gu Qingan’s smile, Jiang Lan’s face flushed red instantly, and her heart beat wildly uncontrollably.
She shyly lowered her head, “No need to go through all that trouble. I didn’t get hurt.”
“No trouble, it’s the least I can do. It was my fault for not looking where I was going and bumping into you.
I really wouldn’t feel right if you didn’t let me treat you to dinner.” Gu Qingan looked at Jiang Lan with sincerity.
Hearing Gu Qingan’s sincere words, Jiang Lan hesitated for a moment and nodded slightly, “Then… okay.”
“Do you like Suzhou cuisine? I know a very good Suzhou restaurant.”
“I’m fine with anything.”
“Then let’s go there.” Gu Qingan’s lips curled up slightly, a faint smile on his face. He gracefully gestured for Jiang Lan to go first.
Jiang Lan slowly raised her eyes, her gaze gently falling on Gu Qingan, “Okay.” This man was gentle and refined.
His every move exuded a unique aura, completely different from the rough and bold men she had met before.
“By the way, I forgot to ask. What’s your name? My name is Gu Qingan.
I’m currently the platoon leader of the Third Regiment of the Beijing Military Region.” Gu Qingan said softly.
Hearing this, Jiang Lan looked up in surprise, her eyes sparkling with excitement,
“You’re from the Beijing Military Region? That’s a coincidence. My uncle also works in the Beijing Military Region.”
“What a coincidence.” The smile on Gu Qingan’s face became even brighter, his brows and eyes even clearer, like the glow of the spring sun.
His voice was low and magnetic, making people involuntarily intoxicated.
Jiang Lan’s heart was pounding like a deer. Her heartbeat quickened uncontrollably.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, “I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name is Jiang Lan. I’m a nurse at the Military Hospital.”
“So you’re a nurse who saves lives and heals the sick?” Gu Qingan’s lips curled up slightly, revealing a gentle smile,
“No wonder when I saw you for the first time, I felt a unique aura about you, one that makes people feel at ease.”
Jiang Lan turned her head slightly, her gaze falling on Gu Qingan. She smiled faintly, “You soldiers are the ones who deserve admiration.
If it weren’t for you standing guard on the front line of national security, using your flesh and blood to withstand all kinds of dangers and challenges, how could we have the peace and harmony of society today?”
She was born into a military family, so she naturally understood the hardships of soldiers.
Gu Qingan smiled in appreciation, “Miss Jiang’s words touched me.
But this is the responsibility of a soldier. Miss Jiang, may I have the honor of being friends with you?”
“Okay.” Jiang Lan smiled and nodded. She liked Gu Qingan very much.
Gu Qingan’s eyes showed a hint of a triumphant smile. It wouldn’t be bad to befriend Jiang Lan.
Maybe he could even use her connections to climb higher in the future. But the most important thing now was to divorce Zhou Yu.
Only after the divorce would he be free of worries.
Ling Yao carefully wiped Lu Qingyun’s face. The towel gently brushed across his face.
His features were like they were carved by a chisel. His tall, mountain-like nose gave him a sense of determination and steadiness.
His deep eyes were like a pool of spring water, filled with endless tenderness and affection. His thin lips slightly curled up, revealing a subtle smile.
The hint of rose-colored glow added a touch of alluring charm, making people want to kiss him.
Ling Yao realized her thoughts and instantly blushed, as red as a ripe apple.
Lu Qingyun keenly noticed the change in Ling Yao’s face and couldn’t help but smile.
“What’s wrong?” He asked softly, his voice low and magnetic, as if it could penetrate one’s soul.
Ling Yao turned her head in a fluster, not daring to meet Lu Qingyun’s gaze, “No… nothing.”
She turned around, put the towel back in the basin, wrung it out again, and then began to gently wipe Lu Qingyun’s neck.
Lu Qingyun’s neck was long, with smooth and natural muscle lines, exuding a masculine aura unique to men.
As the towel moved, Ling Yao’s fingers accidentally touched Lu Qingyun’s Adam’s apple.
It was like an electric shock. Lu Qingyun trembled, and his Adam’s apple rolled up and down, very sexy.
“Yaoyao, let me wipe it myself.” His voice was hoarse, as if he was suppressing something.
Ling Yao quickly handed the towel to Lu Qingyun.
Lu Qingyun took the towel and wiped it haphazardly. It was comfortable to have Yaoyao wipe him, but it was too tempting.
He was a patient now and couldn’t handle such stimulation.
“Yaoyao, I’m done.” Lu Qingyun handed the towel back to Ling Yao.
He was wrapped in bandages everywhere except his face and neck, so he could only wipe his face and neck.
“Oh.” Ling Yao quickly took the towel, put it in the basin, and then quickly walked out with the basin, “I’ll go pour the water out.”
Lu Qingyun watched Ling Yao’s retreating figure and smiled.
Ling Yao walked out of the ward and took several deep breaths before her heartbeat returned to normal. Lu Qingyun, that devil, was so alluring.
Night fell, and the city lights came on.
Ling Yao had Xiao Zhou help Lu Qingyun sit up. Then, she picked up the chicken soup that Lu Qingshuang had brought in the afternoon and carefully fed it to Lu Qingyun.
Lu Qingyun pushed the spoon towards Ling Yao’s mouth and said softly, “You drink some first. I’ll drink later.”
Ling Yao smiled slightly and obediently opened her mouth to take a sip.
“Yaoyao, I’ll have Little Liu drive you home later.” Lu Qingyun’s eyes showed a hint of reluctance, but then he thought that they weren’t married yet.
If he let Yaoyao stay here, it would affect her reputation. He loved Ling Yao and wouldn’t let anything like that happen.
Ling Yao understood Lu Qingyun’s concerns and nodded lightly, “I’ll go back after you finish the chicken soup.”
After Lu Qingyun finished the chicken soup, Ling Yao took a pill out of her bag and handed it to him, “Take this medicine.”
“Okay.” Lu Qingyun opened his mouth and swallowed the pill.
Ling Yao smiled and stood up, “Then I’ll come see you tomorrow.”
“Okay. Be careful on the road.” Lu Qingyun watched Ling Yao leave the room, his eyes filled with longing and reluctance.
Ling Yao returned home and saw Ling Xuemei and Ji Yanting sitting in the living room watching TV, “Dad! Mom!”
