Chapter 15: Taking Her Home

Ling Yao’s heart beat uncontrollably faster, “Then I’ll trouble you.” She had to admit that Lu Qingyun looked really handsome when he smiled.

“Don’t be so polite. I’ll call right now.” Lu Qingyun looked at Mr. Yang, “Grandpa Yang, can I use your phone?”

“Sure.” Mr. Yang nodded with a smile.

Lu Qingyun walked over, picked up the phone, and dialed a number.

After answering, he spoke briefly to the other party and hung up the phone. He walked to Ling Yao and said, “It should be approved soon.”

“Thank you!” Ling Yao smiled and thanked him. She felt a little more fondness for Lu Qingyun.

Lu Qingyun shook his head and smiled. He admired Ling Yao. She was a very special and excellent woman.

“I’ll take you both.” Old Lady Yang escorted Ling Yao and Lu Qingyun to the door and watched them leave.

Their figures gradually faded into the distance, soon disappearing into the twilight.

“I’ll take you back.” Lu Qingyun looked at Ling Yao. It would be dark in two hours, and it wouldn’t be safe for a girl to go back alone.

Ling Yao shook her head with a smile, “No, I’ll just take the bus back. Thank you for today.” Lu Qingyun had helped her a lot. As long as the Food and Drug Administration approved it, her plan could be implemented.

“Don’t be so polite. I’m going to the hospital anyway. I’ll take you back on the way.” Ling Yao had a very gentle aura, and it was comfortable to be around her.

“Then I’ll trouble you.” Ling Yao knew that if she refused again, she would be ungrateful.

“Let’s go.” Lu Qingyun took Ling Yao to the parking lot.

Xiao Liu saw Lu Qingyun coming and immediately ran over, “Commander! Do you need the car?”

The car was quiet all the way.

Lu Qingyun turned his gaze to the rearview mirror, his eyes falling on Ling Yao in the back seat. Seeing her peaceful sleeping face, he couldn’t help but smile slightly.

Ling Yao slept soundly all the way until Lu Qingyun’s deep and pleasant voice sounded in her ear. She woke up slowly, looked around, and remembered that she was in Lu Qingyun’s car. She looked at Lu Qingyun with a hint of embarrassment.

Lu Qingyun smiled slightly, his deep voice sounding again, “We’re here.”

Ling Yao thanked Lu Qingyun and got out of the car.

After waving goodbye to Lu Qingyun and Xiao Liu, Ling Yao walked towards the village.

“Let’s go.” Lu Qingyun looked away and instructed Xiao Liu to drive.

“Oh.” Xiao Liu came back to his senses and immediately stepped on the gas.

The car, like a whirlwind, quickly disappeared at the end of the road.

Zhou Yu walked out from behind a tree and looked thoughtfully at the departing car. That car was clearly a military vehicle. When did Ling Yao get to know such a big shot?

Ling Yao walked back home with a light step.

Ling Xuemei was cooking dinner in the kitchen. Hearing footsteps, she turned her head and smiled at her, “Yaoyao, Mom made your favorite braised pork today. Go wash your hands and get ready to eat.”

“Okay, Mom.” Ling Yao took off her backpack and placed it on the table, then went to the well in the yard to wash her hands.

Ling Xuemei brought all the dishes to the table.

After Ling Yao came in, the mother and daughter began to eat dinner.

“Yaoyao, what have you been busy with lately? Why do you always come back so late?” Ling Xuemei wasn’t worried that Ling Yao would do anything bad, but she was a girl, and she couldn’t help but worry when she came back so late.
