Chapter 198: Tropical Rainforest
Arriving at the border, Ling Yao took out her legal exit documents and handed them to the staff for verification.
After the documents were approved, Ling Yao entered Myanmar through the entry point.
Myanmar was a completely unfamiliar and challenging place for Ling Yao. It had a completely different culture, customs, and social environment from Dragon Country. It had magnificent and beautiful natural scenery and a long history and culture, but it also had various complex and thorny problems: poverty, backwardness, political instability…
In her previous life, although she had never set foot in Myanmar, she had heard of the name of this country.
Almost every day, she would see videos about Myanmar on Douyin. Myanmar was a place full of mystery and danger. Various warlords were entrenched there, each ruling their own territory. There was constant fighting, and there was no peace.
Drugs, arms, and telecommunications fraud, among other illegal industries, also ran rampant in this land. Countless innocent people from Dragon Country had lost their lives there.
Many people were deceived by the prosperity that Myanmar presented on the surface. They mistakenly thought that there were dazzling gems and piles of gold everywhere. They didn’t know that once they stepped into Myanmar’s territory, it was like stepping onto a one-way street with no turning back.
Ling Yao took out a map and looked at it. Her eyes quickly locked onto the vast tropical rainforest surrounding Myanmar.
After confirming her route, Ling Yao set off.
Not long after, Ling Yao keenly sensed that someone was following her. She didn’t panic and continued to walk steadily towards the tropical rainforest.
“That woman is so beautiful! If we can take her back and offer her to Lord Aji, he will be very happy.”
The other person nodded in agreement, “Follow her. When there are fewer people around, we’ll make our move.”
Ling Yao didn’t pay attention to the two people following her. She kept walking forward. At this moment, she had only one thought in her mind: to find Qingyun in the rainforest as soon as possible.
The tropical rainforest was full of hidden dangers, with all kinds of poisonous snakes and insects. Every moment spent there increased the danger.
“Isn’t she heading towards the rainforest? Did she get lost?”
“Don’t worry about that. Just follow her.”
The two men followed Ling Yao closely.
When there was no one around, they finally couldn’t hold back and surrounded Ling Yao. In their eyes, Ling Yao was just a weak woman. They thought it would be easy to capture her.
Ling Yao stopped and swept her cold gaze over the two men, “What do you want?”
The two men looked at Ling Yao’s face for a moment, “As long as you come with us quietly, we won’t hurt you. If you dare to resist, hehe, then don’t blame us for being rude.”
“Rude?” Ling Yao’s lips curled up into a mocking smile.
The next moment, she flashed, her speed like lightning, and instantly appeared in front of the two men.
Before they could react, Ling Yao raised her foot and kicked them hard.
Then, two muffled sounds could be heard. The two men flew back like kites with broken strings, crashing heavily to the ground.
Ling Yao glanced at the unconscious men on the ground, her eyes flashing with disdain and contempt. She looked away and continued walking forward.
After walking for about two hours, Ling Yao finally reached the tropical rainforest.
The trees were lush and dense, blocking out the sun. As far as the eye could see, there was a boundless expanse of green. Being there, it was like entering a green world isolated from the rest of the world.
Soon after entering the rainforest, Ling Yao felt a humid and stuffy air rush towards her, making her feel a little suffocated.
“Xinghuo.” Ling Yao released Xinghuo from the space.
As soon as Xinghuo came out, it barked and rubbed its head against Ling Yao’s leg affectionately.
“Xinghuo, can you smell Qingyun?” Ling Yao asked Xinghuo.
“Woof!” Xinghuo barked. It wasn’t an ordinary dog. It ate spiritual herbs and pills from the space. Its sense of smell was incomparable to ordinary dogs.
Ling Yao smiled slightly, bent down, and reached out to rub Xinghuo’s head, “Lead the way.”
“Woof!”
Xinghuo sniffed carefully and ran quickly in one direction.
Ling Yao followed.
On the other side of the tropical rainforest, a group of people were walking slowly. Several of them were injured and were being supported by their companions.
Lu Qingyun stopped and let everyone rest for a while.
He vigilantly looked around, his eyes falling on a wild fruit tree not far away, “I’ll go pick some wild fruits.” They had run out of the dry food they had brought with them. Now, they could only rely on the water sources in the rainforest and the wild fruits on the trees to barely survive.
He reached the wild fruit tree and climbed up agilely. When he was halfway up, he suddenly saw a large snake, as thick as a bowl, coiled around a branch. Its cold, sinister eyes stared straight at him, and its red tongue flickered out from time to time.
Lu Qingyun stopped, facing the snake. The snake’s color was very similar to the leaves, and he hadn’t noticed it before. But he had encountered this kind of snake before. It was highly venomous. Once bitten, it would cause paralysis throughout the body, instantly rendering the victim unable to move.
The snake raised its head proudly, assuming a posture ready to attack.
Lu Qingyun narrowed his eyes, staring intently at the snake, not daring to relax for a moment.
The man and the snake stared at each other, neither making the first move.
Ling Yao was moving quickly through the rainforest. There were snakes, insects, and rodents everywhere, but Xinghuo, who was leading the way, had already cleared obstacles for Ling Yao, making the path smooth.
Xinghuo stopped, turned, and barked twice at Ling Yao behind him.
Ling Yao walked over and found that they were in front of a large swamp. She frowned slightly, took out the map, and saw that the swamp area occupied almost one-fifth of the rainforest. It was clear how vast this swamp was.
After carefully studying the map, Ling Yao found that if she wanted to bypass the swamp, she would have to walk at least another day. But crossing the swamp also had many potential dangers.
After thinking for a moment, Ling Yao decided to cross the swamp.
She took a wooden plank about two meters long from the space and threw it into the swamp. Ling Yao stepped onto the plank, then took out a bamboo pole and, using the pole to support herself, walked forward. This plank and bamboo pole were used to build houses in the space.
The plank slowly moved forward. When it was almost to the other side, the swamp suddenly churned. The plank shook violently.
“Woof! Woof! Woof!” Xinghuo bared its teeth and barked loudly at the swamp.
Suddenly, the swamp made a loud “whoosh” sound. A huge crocodile burst out of the swamp and lunged at Ling Yao and Xinghuo, snapping its jaws.
