Chapter 49: The Fake is Exposed
Zhou Yu’s face turned pale when she saw the scene in the room.
Zhu Yuhu was wrapped in a blanket and sobbing softly.
A dark-skinned man with thick eyebrows and big eyes was putting on his clothes beside her.
That man wasn’t Ji Yanting. He was the gardener who took care of the garden.
“What happened?” Ji Yanting’s authoritative voice came from behind.
Zhou Yu shivered in fear. She lowered her head and squeezed into the crowd. She couldn’t let Ji Yanting know that this was related to her.
Zhu Yuhu heard Ji Yanting’s voice and quickly covered her head with the blanket. How could she face Ji Yanting after what happened?
The gardener walked over nervously, “Sir, I was cleaning up yesterday and was about to go back to take a shower and sleep.
Miss Zhu dragged me to your room. She kissed and touched me. I couldn’t resist, so I…”
“You’re lying! I didn’t.” Zhu Yuhu threw off the blanket and roared angrily at the gardener. She had come here yesterday.
She had just taken off her clothes and was about to pounce on Ji Yanting when she was knocked unconscious.
When she woke up, she found herself naked and lying in bed with the gardener.
Ji Yanting’s cold gaze fell on Zhu Yuhu, “Then, Miss Zhu, explain. How did you end up in my house?”
He spoke every word slowly. His voice was like a howling north wind, chilling people to the bone.
“I… I…” Zhu Yuhu didn’t know how to explain. She covered her face and cried out loud. She couldn’t tell the truth.
She couldn’t say that she had colluded with Zhou Yu.
Zhou Yu had drugged Ji Yanting’s food, and she had taken advantage of the situation to come here, wanting to force Ji Yanting to do something with her.
“What happened?” Old Master Ji walked over with his cane.
The servants quickly parted to the sides.
Old Master Ji walked to Ji Yanting’s side and saw Zhu Yuhu wrapped in a blanket in the room. His heart skipped a beat,
“Did you have relations with her?” He looked at Ji Yanting. His son had finally come to his senses.
“He had relations with Miss Zhu.” Ji Yanting pointed to the gardener beside him.
Old Master Ji looked in the direction of Ji Yanting’s finger. The gardener was standing there with his head down, his clothes disheveled.
He almost couldn’t stand. How could Yuhu be with a gardener? Didn’t she like Yanting?
“Call Old Master Zhu and have him come to take her away.” Ji Yanting said in a deep voice and turned to leave.
“Brother Yanting, don’t go. I like you. I was framed. Zhou Yu framed me. She invited me to the Ji family.”
Seeing Ji Yanting about to leave, Zhu Yuhu didn’t care that she was naked.
Wrapped in a blanket, she cried and chased after Ji Yanting. She couldn’t marry a gardener. She was the esteemed Miss Zhu.
Ji Yanting stopped and his sharp gaze fell on Zhou Yu in the crowd.
Old Master Ji also looked coldly at Zhou Yu. He had said that this fake had ulterior motives. Sure enough, something happened.
“No, it wasn’t me. I didn’t… I didn’t do it…” Zhou Yu shook her head, desperately trying to defend herself.
She had finally come to the Ji family and become Miss Ji. She couldn’t be kicked out.
“I believe her. This has nothing to do with her.” Ji Yanting walked forward, came to Zhou Yu, and comforted her with concern,
“Dad believes you. Don’t be afraid.”
Old Master Ji was furious. He was red in the face and his neck was thick, “You’re a scoundrel!
You’re still protecting her after all this. You must kick her out of our Ji family today.”
“She’s my daughter. I can’t kick her out.” Ji Yanting protected Zhou Yu behind him.
“She’s not your daughter at all. She’s a fake.” Old Master Ji roared angrily.
“She has my jade pendant. If she’s not my daughter, who is?”
Old Master Ji almost choked on his own blood, “Your daughter’s name is Ling Yao. She’s not this fake.”
Zhou Yu’s face turned pale. It turned out Old Master Ji knew about Ling Yao’s existence.
A smile curved Ji Yanting’s lips. He knew his daughter wasn’t dead.
Old Master Ji saw the smile on Ji Yanting’s face and understood. He had fallen into his trap.
“You… you…” Old Master Ji pointed at Ji Yanting, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
Ji Yanting reached out to support Old Master Ji and instructed the butler beside him,
“Take Old Master back to rest. Call Doctor Wang.” He still had to deal with the matter at hand.
“Yes!” The butler responded and, with another servant, helped Old Master Ji leave.
Ji Yanting turned his gaze to Zhou Yu. His peach blossom eyes now held a chilling light, like a sharp blade, capable of piercing through anything,
“Tell me, who are you? Why are you impersonating my daughter? Where is my daughter now?”
Since she dared to impersonate his daughter, she must know his daughter. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know about the jade pendant.
That jade pendant was a love token he had given to his wife. He and his wife each had one.
Zhou Yu’s jade pendant was very realistic, but the size was clearly wrong. It didn’t fit together with his jade pendant.
He had known that Zhou Yu was a fake for a long time. He kept her by his side just to force his father to tell the truth.
Another reason was that he wanted to get some information about his wife and daughter from Zhou Yu.
That way, even if his father refused to tell him, he could still find them.
“I…” Zhou Yu was both flustered and confused. She didn’t know what to say. She simply closed her eyes and pretended to faint.
Ji Yanting sneered mockingly. Such a trick was childish and ridiculous in his eyes.
“Take her back to her room and lock her up. No one is allowed to give her food or water.” His voice was filled with unquestionable authority.
Zhou Yu’s body flinched, but she didn’t dare to open her eyes. She had been exposed now.
All she had to do was escape. Otherwise, she would suffer.
Ji Yanting seemed gentle and like a courteous gentleman, but she had seen his methods in her previous life.
He was ruthless towards his enemies and would never show mercy.
After Zhou Yu was dragged away, Ji Yanting looked at Zhu Yuhu, his eyes filled with mockery and contempt, “Miss Zhu, you’ve really opened my eyes.”
“I was really framed. The person I love is you. It’s true.” Zhu Yuhu cried, looking at Ji Yanting with affection in her eyes.
“Miss Zhu’s love is something I can’t afford.” Ji Yanting turned and left.
“Brother Yanting, don’t go. Brother Yanting…” Zhu Yuhu cried and chased after Ji Yanting.
Her foot accidentally stepped on the blanket, and she fell forward. The blanket fell off, exposing her entire body.
The servants all looked away. It was too eye-catching.
“Ah!” Zhu Yuhu reacted and screamed loudly. She hurriedly pulled the blanket over to cover her body.
Ji Yanting didn’t even stop. Zhu Yuhu got what she deserved. If she hadn’t conspired with Zhou Yu to frame him, she wouldn’t have ended up like this.
