Chapter 52: Nine Heavens Formula
Ling Yao finished her homework and walked out of her room. Ling Xuemei had already prepared dinner.
“Yaoyao, dinner’s ready.” Ling Xuemei handed Ling Yao a bowl of rice.
Ling Yao took the rice and picked up a piece of mushroom, putting it in her mouth. It tasted delicious, “Mom, a friend of mine has a birthday this Sunday.
What do you think I should get him?” She had been thinking about it, but she didn’t know what to get Wu Ziyu.
“Is it a girl or a boy?” Ling Xuemei picked up the meat from the fish’s belly and put it in Ling Yao’s bowl.
The meat from the fish’s belly had no bones and was very tender.
“A boy. He’s from a wealthy family. Mom, don’t just give me all the food. You eat too.”
Ling Yao picked up a braised lion’s head and put it in Ling Xuemei’s bowl.
Ling Xuemei smiled happily, “Does he smoke?”
Ling Yao thought for a moment and nodded. When she was close to Wu Ziyu, she smelled a faint scent of smoke on him. She guessed he smoked.
“You can buy him a lighter.”
“A lighter?” Ling Yao thought for a moment and shook her head, “That’s not very suitable either. I’ll think about it again.”
Although she had given Gu Qingan many things in her previous life, those things were more suitable for people with intimate relationships.
They weren’t appropriate for ordinary friends.
“Yaoyao, Mom wants to open a clinic here.” Ling Xuemei said her thoughts. She wasn’t a person who could sit idle.
Being idle every day made her feel like a useless person.
So, she still wanted to continue running a clinic so that she could feel fulfilled.
“Okay. I’ll help you prepare the medicinal herbs and equipment.”
Although Ling Yao didn’t want Ling Xuemei to be too tired, she also knew her mother’s personality, so she didn’t object.
“Mm.” Ling Xuemei smiled happily and gave Ling Yao several more chopsticks of food.
That night, Ling Yao continued to enter the space. Ever since the space absorbed the soul that day, the mist in the space had become much thicker.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t take the mist out and use it for her mother.
But these past few days, she would secretly add some herbs from the space to her and her mother’s meals.
Now, her mother’s condition was clearly better than it was in Hongqi Village.
A few days ago, her mother had even smiled and told her that the house seemed to be very nourishing.
Since they moved here, she had been sleeping soundly, her spirit had been better, her skin was whiter than before, and she even seemed to have gotten younger by a few years.
Ling Yao was walking through the medicinal herb field when she suddenly noticed something glowing in front of her.
The light was particularly dazzling in the dark medicinal herb field, like a star that had fallen to earth.
She quickly walked over, her heart filled with curiosity and anticipation.
When she got closer, she realized that there was a black cauldron on the ground. She squatted down and examined it carefully.
She noticed that there were characters on the cauldron, but they were very blurry. She couldn’t make out what they were.
She wanted to pick up the cauldron and examine it carefully, but she found that although it looked small, it was very heavy.
It was difficult to even move it, let alone pick it up.
Ling Yao tried several times, but the cauldron wouldn’t budge. She could only give up.
Ling Yao walked around the cauldron several times, “Does this cauldron also need blood to activate?”
Thinking about this, she took out a silver needle, pricked her finger, and dropped blood onto the cauldron.
As soon as the blood dropped onto the cauldron, the originally black cauldron emitted a dazzling light. Ling Yao’s eyes widened in surprise.
She was about to step forward to see what changes had happened to the cauldron when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head. The pain felt like it was going to blow her head open.
Her thoughts became chaotic. Countless strange lights appeared before her eyes, flickering like stars, making her feel as if she was in the universe.
Ling Yao held her head and crouched on the ground in pain. She regretted it a little. She shouldn’t have dropped blood on it.
Suddenly, Ling Yao’s eyes blurred, and a golden book appeared in front of her, as if it had fallen from the sky. It emitted a mysterious light.
On the cover of the book, the four large characters “Nine Heavens Formula” shone brightly. Ling Yao stared at it, and her heart skipped a beat.
She hesitated for a moment, carefully reaching out to pick up the book and take a look.
The moment her fingers touched the cover, the book suddenly turned into a small golden dot, like a shooting star, and quickly entered her brow.
Ling Yao’s eyes widened in surprise. Before she could react, she felt a powerful flow of information rushing into her mind.
In her mind, various miraculous formulas appeared like an avalanche: Jiazi Pill, Beauty Pill, Rejuvenation Pill, Healing Pill… Each formula was presented in detail before her eyes.
These formulas each had magical effects, capable of curing various diseases and revitalizing people.
Ling Yao was overjoyed. It felt like a traveler in the desert suddenly discovering an oasis. She felt like she was in a magical world.
With these formulas, how could she not reach the peak in the future?
Ling Yao’s gaze fell on the cauldron on the ground. It had changed its appearance.
It was no longer black. Its exterior had become golden, like a precious work of art.
The characters on the cauldron were now clearly visible to Ling Yao. The two characters “Shennong” shone brightly.
A faint medicinal fragrance emanated from the cauldron. The fragrance made people feel refreshed and relaxed, as if they were in a medicinal herb garden.
Ling Yao saw that it was still early and felt like trying it out.
She chose a relatively simple formula in her mind, then went to the medicinal herb field and collected the necessary herbs.
She began to put these herbs into the cauldron in order, following the formula.
Her movements were gentle. She placed each herb into the cauldron and then stirred them gently with her fingers, allowing them to blend fully.
“Pop!” The cauldron suddenly made a soft sound. Then, a burnt smell wafted out, signaling that Ling Yao’s first attempt at alchemy had failed.
Ling Yao was stunned for a moment. She stood up and continued to collect herbs from the field.
She knew that refining the pills in those formulas wasn’t that simple.
Until dawn approached, Ling Yao still hadn’t succeeded. She could only leave the space helplessly.
She planned to try again tonight. As long as she didn’t give up, she would succeed one day.
Lu Qingyun arrived in Yuncheng and stayed at Wu’s house.
That night, Wu Ziyu and Jiang Jianfei invited him to a new private restaurant.
“Cousin, I also invited Ling Yao for this Sunday. You wouldn’t believe how much Ling Yao has changed.
You won’t recognize her when you see her.” Wu Ziyu couldn’t help but smile when he thought of Ling Yao.
Ling Yao was his savior. He had always been grateful to her. Since it was his birthday, he invited Ling Yao.
A beautiful figure flashed through Lu Qingyun’s mind. He didn’t know why, but after seeing that woman at the department store, he always felt like she had Ling Yao’s shadow.
“How much could she have changed? She’s still just a little fat girl.” Jiang Jianfei hadn’t seen Ling Yao again since that time.
However, he had asked the principal of No. 2 High School to take extra care of Ling Yao. If anything happened to Ling Yao, he would call him directly.
