Chapter 79: : Yang Guofu

Yang Mei stormed into the kitchen.

As soon as she saw Ling Yao, she remembered what happened that day, and a surge of anger uncontrollably filled her heart.

 If it weren’t for her uncle being the head chef at the state-owned restaurant, she wouldn’t have found a job until now.

Yang Guofu was putting the stir-fried dishes onto plates. Seeing Yang Mei’s gloomy expression, he asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I ran into that woman who fired me that day.” Yang Mei’s voice was filled with anger and grievance.

Yang Guofu knew about the incident, “You were indeed wrong in that situation. They only fired you. It was already merciful.”

Yang Mei felt even more wronged. Tears welled up in her eyes, “But I didn’t get the TV, and I already apologized.

Why did she have to fire me? Also, if she hadn’t fired me and Yang Li, would Wu Qin have beaten me?” Wu Qin was Yang Li’s wife.

Knowing that Yang Mei had caused Yang Li to lose his job, she beat her up and cut off all ties with their family. It was all Ling Yao’s fault.

Yang Mei picked up the dish and walked outside.

“What are you doing?” A woman in a luxurious dress was going to the bathroom.

 She saw Yang Mei spitting into the food and her face instantly changed. She felt a wave of disgust.

Could the food she ate also have saliva in it? She couldn’t imagine eating someone else’s saliva. It was simply disgusting.

She looked at Yang Mei, her eyes filled with anger and disgust.

Yang Mei was startled by the woman’s gaze. She lowered her head, not daring to meet the woman’s eyes,

“I’m going to complain to your manager.” The woman felt even more disgusted. She dry-heaved a few times.

“I know I was wrong. Please don’t complain about me. I won’t do it again. Please give me another chance.”

Yang Mei begged the woman. If she lost this job, she wouldn’t be able to find another one.

The woman ignored Yang Mei and walked directly towards the manager’s office.

Yang Mei quickly stepped forward to stop her and knelt down, “Please don’t go. I won’t do it again.”

The situation quickly attracted a crowd of onlookers.

“I’m going to take a look. Do you want to come?” Li Ling asked Ling Yao.

Ling Yao shook her head uninterestedly. She took a sip of soda and turned to look at the scenery outside the window.

 Her eyes were filled with a chilling coldness. With her sharp hearing, she had already heard what happened.

She couldn’t believe that Yang Mei was unrepentant and had actually spat into the food. It was obvious that the dish was for their table.

Well, then she couldn’t blame her.

The manager of the state-owned restaurant quickly learned about the incident. He was furious and roared at the kitchen, “Yang Guofu, get out here!”

Yang Guofu’s hand trembled in fear. He almost dropped the pot in his hand.

He called his apprentice over and asked him to continue stir-frying the dishes he hadn’t finished. Then, he wiped his hands and walked out.

The kitchen was filled with the sounds of stir-frying. He could only faintly hear the commotion outside.

He didn’t know what had happened. Besides, the restaurant was so busy.

 He didn’t have time to worry about other things.

Walking out of the kitchen, he saw the manager with a dark face, and Yang Mei was standing beside him, crying.

 Yang Guofu had a bad feeling, “Manager, what happened?”

“Ask her what she did.” The manager pointed at Yang Mei angrily.

Yang Guofu looked at Yang Mei, “What happened?”

Yang Mei just cried and didn’t say anything.

“I saw her spitting into the food. It was so disgusting.” The woman who saw Yang Mei spitting said.

 Her face was still not looking good. She decided that she would never eat at the state-owned restaurant again.

“What?” Yang Guofu couldn’t believe his ears. He glared at Yang Mei angrily, wishing he could slap her twice, “How could you do that?”

Yang Mei lowered her head and cried even louder. She just wanted to disgust Ling Yao. She didn’t expect to be seen.

“Manager! It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have hired her. Do whatever you want to do with me.”

Yang Guofu was now filled with regret. He wished he hadn’t been soft-hearted and hired this troublemaker.

The manager glanced at Yang Guofu, “This incident is related to our restaurant’s reputation.

We have to call the police. And… you’ll leave the restaurant starting today.”

He admired Yang Guofu and didn’t want him to leave, but this incident had to be dealt with seriously to serve as a warning to others.

The state-owned restaurant wasn’t as prosperous as it used to be. Various private restaurants had sprung up, taking away a lot of the state-owned restaurant’s business.

 The restaurant’s profits were already bad, and now this incident happened.

 It would definitely affect the state-owned restaurant. So, he had to make a decision quickly.

“Please don’t call the police. I won’t do it again. Please give me another chance. I really know I was wrong.”

Yang Mei was truly scared. She had only spat twice. She didn’t expect the consequences to be so serious.

“I understand.” Yang Guofu replied dejectedly. He really didn’t want to leave his beloved job, but he knew it was pointless.

Why did he have to be so compassionate and meddle in Yang Mei’s affairs?

The police arrived quickly. After understanding the situation, they took the crying Yang Mei away.

Li Ling returned to the table and said angrily, “Ling Yao, do you know? We almost ate the food that was spat on.

That Yang Mei is so disgusting. It’s good that she was arrested.”

“Alright, don’t be angry. Birthdays should be happy. Come on, cheers! Happy birthday!”

Ling Yao raised her soda and clinked glasses with Li Ling. As for Yang Mei, she would make her suffer a bit more this time.

“Cheers!” Li Ling smiled.

Ling Yao and Li Ling chatted and laughed as they walked out of the state-owned restaurant.

 They saw Yang Guofu squatting alone in the distance, staring at the state-owned restaurant with red eyes.

“Uncle Guofu is so pitiful. It’s all because of that Yang Mei.” Li Ling said sympathetically.

 She worked at the state-owned restaurant, and Uncle Guofu always took care of her.

 He would often leave her some food to take home.

Ling Yao thought Yang Guofu looked familiar, “What’s his full name?”

“Yang Guofu.”

Ling Yao nodded. No wonder she thought Yang Guofu looked familiar. She had once watched a show called “Master Chef.”

Yang Guofu had represented the Dragon Nation team and defeated representatives from various countries.

He won the competition and became the Master Chef.
