Chapter 89: Choice
“Ling Yao.” Wu Xin called out softly, her eyes filled with admiration.
Ling Yao smiled back and pointed outside, “I’ll go take a look first.
Listen to my instructions.” She was worried that there might be some who had escaped.
Opening the warehouse door, Ling Yao slipped out gracefully. She walked around the factory and found that everyone had passed out.
She found some rope and tied everyone up.
After doing all this, Ling Yao returned to the warehouse and pushed open the door.
Suddenly, a gun was pressed against Ling Yao’s head, “Don’t move!”
Ling Yao turned and saw that the woman holding the gun was wearing a floral shirt and black pants.
This woman was also imprisoned with them. Before, she had always kept her head down, timid and fearful. Ling Yao hadn’t paid much attention to her.
She didn’t expect her to be someone the others had deliberately placed among them to prevent them from escaping.
She had underestimated them. They still had a trick up their sleeve.
The woman held the gun in one hand and controlled Wu Xin with the other, choking her neck, “Get down.”
“Ling Yao, I’m sorry… It’s all my fault… It’s all my fault.
Don’t worry about me…” Wu Xin’s face was full of guilt, her eyes filled with self-blame and pain.
If she hadn’t wanted to take the old lady home, she and Ling Yao wouldn’t have been caught.
“Shut up!” The woman kicked Wu Xin mercilessly.
Wu Xin fell to her knees in pain, and tears instantly flowed down her face.
“Don’t hit her. I’ll do whatever you say.” Ling Yao walked over and squatted down.
The woman glared at Ling Yao fiercely, then turned to a thin little girl, “You, go tie her up.”
The little girl trembled with fear, but she dared not disobey the woman’s orders.
She walked tremblingly to Ling Yao’s side and picked up the rope on the ground.
The little girl’s hands trembled violently. It seemed like she was using all her strength to tie the rope around Ling Yao.
When the little girl finished tying Ling Yao, the woman pressed the gun against Wu Xin’s forehead, walked step by step in front of Ling Yao, “Where’s the antidote?”
Fortunately, the boss had a backup plan. Otherwise, this woman would have really succeeded.
“There’s no antidote. They’ll wake up soon.”
The woman was skeptical. She had the little girl who had tied Ling Yao search her thoroughly.
She found nothing on Ling Yao and had to give up.
The woman didn’t relax her guard even though Ling Yao was tied up. She held the gun against Wu Xin and walked out.
Ling Yao didn’t move. She knew that she wouldn’t have another chance to act for a while.
Besides, the woman was now on her guard. She would definitely control Wu Xin to restrain her.
The young man woke up slowly. He frowned, slowly opened his eyes, and swept his cold gaze around.
He saw the woman standing there, still controlling Wu Xin.
He endured his physical discomfort and climbed up from the ground, “What happened?”
“It was the woman we caught today who drugged you. I have her under control now.
This is her accomplice.” The woman briefly explained what had happened.
The young man’s sinister eyes seemed to be filled with a raging storm, revealing a chilling gloom and terror.
He gritted his teeth and squeezed out a sentence, “Bring her here.”
To dare to act under his nose, that reckless woman, he would make her experience what it meant to live a life worse than death.
“No, please, don’t. If you’re going to kill, kill me…” Wu Xin cried and begged, tears streaming down her face. Ling Yao was caught because of her.
It was all her fault. She would rather bear all the pain than see Ling Yao hurt.
The woman kicked Wu Xin hard and cursed viciously,
“Shut up! If you keep making noise, I’ll shut your mouth!”
Wu Xin was kicked to the ground. She was in so much pain that she almost fainted, but she still stubbornly begged the young man.
She crawled to him, step by step, “Please don’t hurt Ling Yao… Please…”
The young man sneered, his eyes showing no sign of compassion. He was never a soft-hearted person.
Once someone crossed his line, he would eliminate them mercilessly, no matter who it was.
Ling Yao was soon brought over.
The young man’s gaze fell on Ling Yao’s face. His cold stare was like a venomous snake, “You’re the one who drugged us.”
Ling Yao didn’t speak. She just looked at the young man. Now that Wu Xin was in their hands, she had only one chance to save Wu Xin: to control the young man in front of her.
So, she was waiting for the right moment.
The young man sneered coldly, reached out, and squeezed Ling Yao’s chin, “Do you know what the consequences of offending me are?”
Ling Yao winced in pain.
“What a beautiful face.” The young man’s fingers traced Ling Yao’s features.
A bloodthirsty killing intent flickered in his cold, cruel eyes,
“It’s a pity she’s not obedient. And I hate disobedient people most of all, so…”
Ling Yao had been waiting for an opportunity. Seeing that the young man had completely let down his guard, she quickly grabbed his hand, twisted it hard, and then turned around, quickly grabbing his neck from behind.
A look of surprise flashed in the young man’s eyes. He chuckled, “I underestimated you.”
“Let her go, or I’ll kill him.” Ling Yao tightened her grip on the young man’s neck.
She could only gamble, gamble that the young man’s men cared about his life.
The woman hesitated and looked at the young man.
The young man was not at all flustered. He even had a smile on his face, “Go ahead and kill me. Do you dare?”
He winked at the woman. The woman immediately drew a dagger and stabbed Wu Xin’s arm hard.
“Ah!” Wu Xin let out a piercing scream, a heart-wrenching sound.
“You!” Ling Yao didn’t expect the young man to be so crazy.
The young man turned his head, a smirk playing on his lips.
His gaze fell on Ling Yao’s face, as if scrutinizing her courage and determination, “Want to gamble? See who dies first, me or your friend?”
He winked at the woman.
The woman’s dagger pressed firmly against Wu Xin’s neck. With a little force, a streak of blood seeped out from under the blade.
Wu Xin’s face turned pale, her eyes filled with fear and despair, “Ling Yao, don’t worry about me…”
“Choose. You have ten seconds to decide.” The young man looked at Ling Yao provocatively, his eyes full of mockery and ridicule.
He enjoyed the thrill of controlling other people’s fates. In his eyes, Ling Yao was a trapped prey, with nowhere to escape.
Ling Yao clenched her fists tightly, suppressing the killing intent in her heart.
She knew this man was crazy. If she dared to make a move, Wu Xin would definitely die.
“Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five…”
