## Chapter 8 Will Your Dad Recognize You?

Wen Zhile knew very well that the security guards would definitely stop her. She asked this question on purpose.

Fang Xiuxiu pondered for a moment. “The security guards will indeed stop people. Jingzhou University is very strict. You have to show your student ID or staff ID to get in.”

“Oh, okay.” Wen Zhile looked dejected.

Fang Xiuxiu already felt sorry for her. Seeing this, she felt even softer. “But my brother is a student at Jingzhou University. I can ask him to take you in. You just need to register at the entrance.”

Wen Zhile’s eyes lit up instantly. “That’s great.”

She reached into her pocket and took out ten yuan. “Xiuxiu Jie, this is for you and Big Brother Fang’s hard work.”

She genuinely wanted to express her gratitude. Under the circumstances where they might not be in contact later, giving money was the fastest way to show her appreciation.

Fang Xiuxiu was surprised by her words. She grabbed the money and stuffed it back into her hand. “That’s a lot. Keep it. You don’t need to pay for your own brother.”

Her monthly salary was only sixty yuan. Ten yuan was five days’ worth of her salary. How could this girl be so careless with money?

She was a little curious about how Wen Zhile developed this habit, but she didn’t say anything. She just sternly warned, “Little Dai, you have to keep your wealth hidden when you’re out. Ten yuan is a lot. Don’t just give ten yuan to people like that in the future.”

Wen Zhile smiled. “I understand.”

Her brother and sister helping her enter the school was a crucial step in her plan to reconnect with her family. Five yuan each wasn’t really much.

So, she insisted on giving the money to Fang Xiuxiu. “Xiuxiu Jie, please take it. I’ll probably need your help a lot while I’m staying here for seven days.”

“I’ll go back to my room first.”

Fang Xiuxiu looked at the money being shoved into her pocket, feeling a headache. “Okay. I’ll let you know when we’ve decided on a time!”

Wen Zhile went back to her room and washed her face. She had been sweating from talking back and forth with Xiuxiu Jie.

After drying her hands, she counted her money.

She had used up all the change Zhou Jihuai had given her. Wen Zhile took out a hundred-yuan bill and placed it on the bedside table. Then she heated some water and went to the bathroom at the end of the hallway, locking the door and quickly washing up.

When she went back, she took off her clothes and washed them, hanging them to dry by the window.

The sun was shining brightly at noon. She woke up from her nap, and her clothes were almost dry.

She had just put them on when Fang Xiuxiu knocked on the door. “Little Dai, my brother is here. Shall we go now?”

“Coming!”

At two thirty in the afternoon, Wen Zhile followed Fang Xue into Jingzhou University.

Seeing familiar sights, her nose twitched.

In her previous life, she had been admitted to this university at sixteen and stayed there until she was twenty-three, working as a teacher. She spent most of her day at the school. It was like her second home.

Fang Xue was a computer science student, a junior. He was tall and thin.

He was shy and quietly introduced the school to Wen Zhile.

Fang Xiuxiu had to go to work and didn’t come. Wen Zhile noticed Fang Xue’s discomfort and took the initiative to say she would go explore on her own.

After parting ways with him, she headed towards Building Houde, Room 205, with a clear goal in mind.

In her previous life, Wen Zhile often went to her parents’ classrooms to listen to lectures. She was very familiar with the route. Building Houde, Room 205, was her father’s usual classroom.

He worked in the Economics Department and became a full professor in 1985.

It was currently lecture time. Wen Zhile quietly entered from the back door. The classroom was packed, with no empty seats. She stood in the corner.

Wen Shuren’s gaze swept across the room, pausing on Wen Zhile’s face.

Wen Zhile noticed his gaze and her eyes instantly turned red.

She quickly lowered her head, but the sadness and tears welled up, making her take a while to regain her composure before raising her head again.

Half an hour later, the bell rang for the end of class.

Wen Shuren put down the chalk and took a sip of water.

As he drank, his eyes unconsciously looked towards the little girl standing at the back.

Wen Zhile had already made friends with the girls in the back row, calling them “elder sister” and complimenting their skin and looks.

Wen Shuren put down his cup, thought for a moment, and walked down from the podium towards her.

As he got closer, he felt a sense of familiarity wash over him.

This child’s eyes and brows were strikingly similar to his own when he was young.

[Sister, will your dad recognize you?]

Wen Zhile silently thought, her heart aching. “I don’t know.”
