Chapter 160 : Proud Little Rooster
When they arrived at the gate of Qingshi No. 1 Primary School, they saw four large posters displaying the class assignments for the first-year students.
Fang Xiaoluo looked around and found Shen Haiping’s name on the list for Class 1, Grade 1.
There were signs for each class on campus, and the head teachers were organizing the first-year students into lines.
Fang Xiaoluo and the others had arrived early. After settling Shen Haiping, Shen Haifeng ran over and said, “Mom, our teacher Ding is looking for you.”
Fang Xiaoluo followed Shen Haifeng’s direction and saw Ding Xiuying waiting outside.
“Mother of Shen Haifeng, I know you must want to ask about Teacher Zhou Yueshan. Our Principal Bi is in the office.”
Fang Xiaoluo patted Shen Haifeng on the shoulder and said, “Go ahead and listen to the class carefully.”
Shen Haifeng nodded and went back to his classroom.
Bi Xiujie’s office door was open, so Ding Xiuying took Fang Xiaoluo inside.
When Bi Xiujie heard the voice, he immediately stood up and came over to greet her.
Ding Xiuying introduced, “This is our principal Bi.”
“Principal Bi, this is Shen Haifeng’s mother.”
Bi Xiujie extended his right hand, “Bi Xiujie.”
Fang Xiaoluo shook his hand, “Fang Xiaoluo.”
“Please take a seat.” Bi Xiujie gestured for Fang Xiaoluo to sit down and went to pour her some water.
Fang Xiaoluo looked at Bi Xiujie. It turned out that the principal of Qingshi No. 1 Primary School was quite young. He looked younger than Vice Principal Tian Min and seemed to be around 30 years old.
It was truly remarkable that he had become a principal at such a young age.
“Comrade Fang, regarding the incident at the end of last semester with our teacher Zhou Yueshan, our school has already dealt with it. This semester, the Chinese teacher for Class 2, Grade 2 has been replaced by a very responsible teacher.”
Fang Xiaoluo was happy to hear that Zhou Yueshan had been replaced.
She didn’t want Zhou Yueshan to continue teaching and causing trouble for Shen Haifeng.
Bi Xiujie continued, “We have also punished Zhou Yueshan by making him wait for three months…”
After listening to this, Fang Xiaoluo said, “In that case, I will also fulfill my promise to buy new teaching aids for Qingshi No. 1 Primary School and sponsor new desks and chairs for one grade. I will definitely not go back on my word.”
Bi Xiujie smiled and said, “Comrade Fang is really a straightforward person.”
Fang Xiaoluo stood up and said, “I will definitely do what I promised. At the very least, I want to set a good example of integrity for my son. Of course, I also hope that Qingshi No. 1 Primary School can do better under your leadership, Principal Bi.”
Bi Xiujie nodded, “I will definitely not let you down.”
After the school matters were settled, Fang Xiaoluo went home.
She called Wei Yan’s factory and said she wanted to order a batch of tables and chairs.
Wei Yan said on the other end of the phone, “Xiaoluo, just tell me how many sets you want. I’ll give them all to you for free.”
Fang Xiaoluo quickly replied, “Wei Yan, this really can’t be given as a gift. Let’s keep things separate. If you give me something as a gift every time I ask you to buy something, I won’t dare to ask you again next time. We are friends for friendship, and business is business.”
Wei Yan was embarrassed. “Look, you and Captain Shen always think of me when doing business. I’ve been making things for the army recently, which is a big business. You’re sending me money again. Xiaoluo, you are simply my God of Wealth.”
Fang Xiaoluo said, “Then it’s not counted as a favor when you help me. What we’re doing is called mutual help.”
“I don’t know the size of the table and chairs. You can ask someone from the factory to go to Qingshi No. 1 Primary School to measure, or they can do it on-site. Just order 200 sets. Tell me the price after you calculate it, and I’ll go to Jiangcheng in two days to give you the money.”
Wei Yan was very happy, “Okay, got it. Don’t worry, I guarantee they’re all the best quality!”
After school at noon, Shen Haifeng and Shen Haiping would come back together, so Fang Xiaoluo didn’t have to worry at all.
She checked the time and went to the kindergarten gate to pick up Shen Jinxia.
Since it was Zheng Lanhua who had dropped her off in the morning, Shen Jinxia specifically asked Fang Xiaoluo to pick her up at noon.
Fang Xiaoluo was fine, and of course, she wouldn’t let Shen Jinxia down.
Even though today was the first day for the children to be sent to kindergarten, not many parents had come to pick them up.
After all, the kindergarten was located inside the military compound, and the children were used to running back and forth.
There was no child who didn’t know the way home, not to mention, where could be safer than inside a military compound?
There were two classes in the small class: Class One and Class Two.
Shen Jinxia and Yu Xiaopang were both in the first-grade class.
Fang Xiaoluo arrived at the kindergarten gate and chatted casually with the parents who were waiting there.
When the time came, the children from each class lined up and were led out by their teachers.
The small class was the first to finish school. Fang Xiaoluo spotted Shen Jinxia, who was standing at the front of the class, at a glance.
Shen Jinxia felt very new to school on her first day.
But she was also wondering whether Fang Xiaoluo would come to pick her up at noon.
The first thing she saw when she walked out was Fang Xiaoluo waiting at the door, and she immediately smiled widely.
Her mother was the most beautiful and stood out particularly when standing at the door.
Once the children were free to disperse, Shen Jinxia threw herself into Fang Xiaoluo’s arms, “Mom, I miss you so much!”
Fang Xiaoluo hugged Shen Jinxia and said, “I missed you, too.”
Shen Jinxia arched her back in Fang Xiaoluo’s arms, her little arms hugging her tightly, warm and soft.
Fang Xiaoluo asked, “Did Xiaxia cry today?”
“Of course not, I am brave and strong,” Shen Jinxia said.
Fang Xiaoluo asked again, “Are there other children in your class crying?”
Shen Jinxia shook her head, “No, why would anyone cry?”
Fang Xiaoluo remembered the news she had seen before: when school started, many parents were crying in front of the kindergarten gate.
There was even more crying and shouting in the kindergarten, and she felt very sympathetic toward the kindergarten teachers.
But on second thought, these children really had nothing to cry about now.
The children in the compound, who could run, mostly played within the compound, with the younger ones chasing after the older ones, so the children were rarely at home.
The children who came to kindergarten mostly knew each other.
Maybe for them, this was just a change of place to play. The only difference was that here there were teachers to control them, and they might have felt a little uncomfortable. But they really didn’t cry.
Fang Xiaoluo praised, “You’re all great.”
“Auntie, we are all super awesome too, right?”
When Fang Xiaoluo lowered her head, several little boys surrounded her, as if asking for praise.
These little boys looked familiar. She could call out the names of two of them, but not the other three.
Fang Xiaoluo smiled and said, “You all didn’t cry, which means you are all great.”
The children were very happy to receive praise.
Yu Xiaopang jumped out from behind and said, “Auntie, can I come to your house for lunch?”
Fang Xiaoluo put Shen Jinxia down, held her with her right hand, and reached out with her left hand to pull Yu Xiaopang over, “Okay, let’s go. I just made something delicious for lunch. You can ask your mother and Feixu to come over to eat.”
Yu Xiaopang happily followed Fang Xiaoluo and Shen Jinxia.
After walking a few steps, he turned around and made faces at the little boys, then looked at them very proudly, like a proud little rooster!
