Chapter 42: I Love You So Much I Can’t Control Myself
Ji Lele seemed a little confused, but also a little understanding.
“Mom, the bank is really good at business.” They use other people’s money to make a lot of money and then give a small portion to the owner of the money.
“Mom, why don’t we open a bank?”
Su Ai was so happy she slapped her thigh. She didn’t expect her son to be a money-lover too.
The bank teller was also amused by the little guy again.
“Little guy, if you want to open a bank, you need a lot of money to start with.”
“Otherwise, people who deposit money with you will be afraid you’ll spend it.”
“Your mom’s ten thousand yuan isn’t enough to open a bank.”
The teller said a few words with a smile.
Lele wasn’t afraid; instead, he blinked his clear eyes and said, “How much money do you need?”
“A lot, and you need more than just money.”
“Comrade, we’ve finished counting; it’s exactly ten thousand yuan.”
“Are you sure you want to deposit it?”
“Yes.”
“But for the ‘big red flower’ ceremony, we need to go through the process and submit your application.”
“It won’t be quick; it might take two or three days.”
“Okay, no problem.”
After depositing the money and taking their things, they left the bank. Lele kept asking, “Mom, can’t we really open a bank?”
“If we make money, we’ll give a little bit to the money owners.”
“What if we don’t make money?”
“If we don’t make money, we’ll take their money and say we lost money. Didn’t Mom say that businesses have both profits and losses? It’s normal.”
“Hehe.”
Su Ai didn’t expect her son to have the potential to be a ruthless businessman at such a young age. Su Ai happily continued to teach her son:
“That’s not called taking it away.”
“Then what’s it called?”
“Bankruptcy.”
“That’s not called losing money either.”
“Then what’s it called?”
“Temporary losses.”
No business is without cunning; too kind businesses rarely survive. This was Su Ai’s experience from her past life.
Mother and son chatted and laughed as they went to a state-run restaurant and packed some food before going home.
They caught up with the villager pulling the cart carrying their things as they approached the village.
They successfully brought him home.
It was almost one o’clock in the afternoon.
Ji Yang was heating up the buns in the kitchen.
The buns that tasted so good in the morning were tasteless at noon.
The yard was unusually quiet.
The quietness was unsettling.
There was no sound of Lele, and no sound of Su Ai.
Ji Yang checked the time again; only a minute had passed.
Why did this minute feel so long today?
Suddenly, Ji Yang heard some noise outside.
“Mm?”
“Dad!!”
“Dad!!”
The happy voice of his child came, and Ji Yang felt alive again.
He picked up his cane and quickly stood up: “Hey!!”
“Lele.”
Su Ai pushed open the door and saw Ji Yang standing at the kitchen door, smiling faintly at them.
She was immediately in a good mood.
Finally, coming home wasn’t just to an empty house.
The feeling of having someone waiting at home was wonderful.
She pushed the cart inside: “Haven’t you eaten yet?”
Ji Yang said somewhat embarrassedly: “Not yet. I helped someone see a doctor this morning and was busy for a long time.”
“What kind of illness? Was it serious?” Su Ai asked casually.
“Zhang Datou, he got drunk last night and jumped off a mountain. Someone found him this morning while cutting wood on the mountain and brought him down.”
Su Ai stopped pushing the bicycle.
“Is he dead?”
Ji Yang shook his head: “He probably won’t die, but he’ll be disabled, and he might become a fool.”
“Serves him right.”
Su Ai nodded: “Mm.” That’s no different from being dead; no need to worry about him.
“I just started the fire, and you’re back.”
“No need to cook; I packed some food from the state-run restaurant; just heat it up and eat.”
“Okay.”
“Didn’t you and Lele go shopping?”
“Why didn’t you buy…”
“Huh?”
Ji Yang looked at the fully loaded cart that came in behind his wife and son.
Huh??
“I did buy things.”
The man looked at the stunned Ji Yang, then at the extravagant mother and son, and without saying anything, quickly helped unload the cart.
He had already been paid, so he quickly left with his cart.
Even if the couple fought later, it wouldn’t affect him.
“I’m done unloading; I’ll go now.”
The man piled everything in the yard and quickly left with his cart.
Su Ai chuckled: “He’s afraid we’ll fight.”
Ji Yang helplessly walked over with his cane.
“Do you think I bought too much?”
Su Ai glanced at the people outside peeking in, many of them looking at their house with curious eyes.
“Lele, go close the door.”
You have to pay to watch a monkey show.
“No,” Ji Yang looked at the mountain of clothes.
“You rarely buy clothes; you should get some new ones.”
“I was just thinking that the closet might not be big enough; should we get someone to make a couple more?”
Su Ai looked at Ji Yang with a faint smile; he looked serious: “I’ll ask Old Zhu to make two more closets tomorrow…”
His rambling was really cute.
“Mwah~”
Ji Yang froze, immediately turning to see if Lele was around. Luckily, Lele had gone inside.
“Su Ai!”
“Don’t…”
Su Ai hummed softly, interrupting Ji Yang: “What’s the point of saying that?”
“You always say that, and I always do what I should do.”
This was the first time Ji Yang had seen someone so brazenly justify their unreasonable behavior.
It’s like, you say what you want; I’ll listen or not.
Now it’s like, don’t say it; I’m not listening anyway.
Ji Yang sighed helplessly.
“It’s not good for Lele to see.”
“What’s wrong with that?”
“It’s just a kiss; don’t you kiss him?”
Ji Yang: …
“I do kiss him, but it’s different.”
“What’s different? Don’t you kiss him because you love him?”
“I love you so much I can’t control myself; is it wrong to kiss you?”
“Is there a problem with letting Lele see his parents getting along well, living in a loving family?”
When Su Ai said all this, it sounded different to Ji Yang.
It sounded like: I love you.
Only those three words were clear and pleasant.
His face reddened even more; he stopped talking.
But his eyes clearly showed uncontainable joy.
Su Ai looked up and really felt she couldn’t control herself.
She simply cupped Ji Yang’s face and kissed him hard on the lips, her eyes full of triumphant glee.
“I must have saved the universe in my last life.”
“That’s why I have such a great husband this life.”
“You go sit inside; I’ll tidy up.”
“I’ll be done soon.”
“You’re affecting my work efficiency.”
Lele ran out shouting: “Mom, I’ll help you.”
The child came out too. Ji Yang was afraid that if he stayed, Su Ai would kiss him again and again, and Lele would see it, so he went to the kitchen.
“The fire’s already on; I’ll heat up the food.”
“Don’t worry; I’ve been lying in bed all morning; it’s time for me to move around.”
“Okay.”
Su Ai quickly tidied up, and Ji Yang heated up the food.
Su Ai propped one wheel of the wheelchair on the ground, spun it around, and placed it in front of Ji Yang.
“With this, you don’t have to lie in bed all the time.”
“You can move around.”
“I also bought a big bathtub; you can soak in a bath with your injured leg outside. I’ll heat the water for you after dinner.”
“Take a bath and then try on the clothes I bought for you. I think the sizes should be right, but if there’s a problem, I’ll exchange them for you.”
Only then did Ji Yang realize that many of the things on that cart were for him.
Looking at Su Ai, he felt his throat tighten and his nose clog.
