The Green Tea Supporting Character Disgusts The Male Lead Chapter 13

Return to the Old House

Ruan Yuexi was startled by Shang Yao’s roar, leaning back with an innocent expression on her face. “Brother Yao, it does hurt, but after a while, your spine will definitely feel better.”

He responded with a cold, piercing glare. Ruan Yuexi, unfazed, moved closer to him again. “Don’t be too touched. This is what I should do as your wife.”

Shang Yao: “… Can you stop talking?” His voice was so cold it seemed to freeze.

Ruan Yuexi immediately covered her mouth. “Brother Yao, whatever you say, I’ll listen. After all, you’re the boss.”

Shang Yao: “…” He seemed to be struggling to contain something.

Luckily, Ruan Yuexi really stopped talking after that. Shang Yao’s icy, gloomy expression gradually eased.

When the dishes were served at the dining table, Ruan Yuexi was already quite hungry. She started eating lunch quickly. Halfway through the meal, she noticed something interesting: Shang Yao seemed to have a cleanliness issue. He never picked food from the dishes she had touched with her chopsticks.

And she was using serving chopsticks okay! Ruan Yuexi’s eyes darted around. She used the serving chopsticks to place a piece of food into Shang Yao’s bowl.

Shang Yao’s movements paused. He looked up and stared at Yan Xiyu coldly, seemingly on the verge of erupting.

Ruan Yuexi showed no fear and continued to smile brightly. “I know why Brother Yao doesn’t take any food. It’s because you want to save the best for Xi’er. But how could Xi’er bear to take it all? This braised pork is so deliciously fatty, one bite and the juices just flow.”

“If you don’t believe me, I’ll eat it for you to see. I guarantee it will make your mouth water.”

Shang Yao, apparently unable to bear it any longer, interrupted her with a cold command. “If you say one more word, just try.”

Ruan Yuexi could understand his underlying message: try and you’ll regret it.

“I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare. I’m just eating.” She hastily took a bite of her food to avoid provoking him too much.

Shang Yao coldly glared at her for a couple of seconds before continuing to pick up his chopsticks. He reluctantly ate the braised pork from his bowl, though he did so with a frown.

Ruan Yuexi watched with satisfaction. Wasting food is just bad.

The room fell silent again. After a moment, the butler, Li, walked over with a phone call from the old house.

“Master, your father has requested you return to the old house in two days.” Butler Li was somewhat worried for Ruan Yuexi. If she went back to the old house, she would likely face more criticism.

Shang Yao elegantly dabbed at his mouth with a napkin. “Hmm, I understand.”

Ruan Yuexi swallowed a mouthful of pork belly. “Do I have to go with you?” She wasn’t too keen on going to the old house.

The old house is a bit scary. Shang Yao suffers from claustrophobia, which was caused by living in the old house, so Shang Yao almost never goes back to the old house.

Moreover, Shang Yao’s father, Shang Lie, although not a bad person, was cold and distant. He could go days without speaking to his son or wife, which gradually warped Shang Yao’s personality.

Shang Yao ignored Ruan Yuexi’s question. Butler Li, seeing Shang Yao’s cold expression, didn’t dare to answer on his behalf. Poor Madam.

After spending some time with him recently, Ruan Yuexi wasn’t concerned about his indifference.

“Well, if Brother Yao is going back, I’ll go back too.” She tried to probe.

Shang Yao seemed to see through her reluctance. He looked at her and said, “Then let’s go together.”

Ruan Yuexi: “…” She regretted probing and should have directly said she wouldn’t go.

Shang Yao, his gaze indifferent, withdrew his attention and left the dining table, heading upstairs.

Ruan Yuexi quickly gulped down a glass of juice. Butler Li worriedly advised, “Madam, drink slower.”

She downed the juice in one go. “No worries. I’ll follow Brother Yao upstairs.” She quickly ran after Shang Yao.

Butler Li could only shake his head helplessly. Madam had become increasingly rash recently.
