When I Woke Up, My Billionaire Wife’s Childhood Friend Was Back Chapter 7

Chapter 7

When Qin Yi returned home, Qin Nian immediately ran up to him and whispered, “Daddy, you’re finally back! Mom just called me and asked why you weren’t with me.”

Qin Yi immediately felt tense and carefully asked, “Sweetheart, what did you tell Mom?”

“I said Daddy went to the bathroom!”

“Sweetheart, you really are Daddy’s little quilt!”

Hearing this, Qin Nian felt a little shy. She mimicked a character from a TV show and rubbed her fingers together at her father.

At first, Qin Yi didn’t understand what his daughter meant. Only when he noticed her staring at his phone did he realize she was angling for a reward.

“Nian, you really are Daddy’s daughter—just like me, you love money!”

He said this while picking her up and heading toward the living room sofa.

Half an hour earlier, Qin Nian had been sitting alone on the living room sofa watching cartoons when Su Xiaowan’s call came through on her children’s smartwatch.

“Mom, Daddy hasn’t come back yet!” she whispered into the watch.

“Okay, got it. Remember, don’t let Daddy know about this, or you won’t get any rewards from me later.”

“Don’t worry, Mom! Daddy hasn’t suspected me. But you…” Qin Nian trailed off, embarrassed.

“You little money-grubber, got it! After you hang up, I’ll transfer some money to you.”

Meanwhile, in the Yiwang Group CEO’s office, after hanging up, Su Xiaowan quickly transferred another sum to Qin Nian’s account.

Afterwards, she opened the photos sent by the unknown number earlier that afternoon.

The images clearly showed her husband entering a private room in a club with several very beautiful women.

Although she didn’t know exactly which club, she guessed it was most likely the Red Horse Club—after all, she had been to every similar venue in Tianhai City because of her husband.

Looking at the photos, Su Xiaowan fumed and muttered to herself, “Husband, if you don’t satisfy me tonight… humph! You’re dead meat!”

Checking the time, she realized her husband should be on his way home. To be safe, she decided to leave work a little later today—not because she feared Qin Yi, but because she didn’t want an awkward encounter.

At home, while Qin Yi and Qin Nian were playing on the sofa, Su Xiaowan quietly snuck up behind them and lifted her daughter.

“Mom! You scared me! I thought a kidnapper had broken in to steal me!”

“Nian, your imagination really comes from your daddy!”

“But Nian is my daughter—if not like me, who else would she be like?”

Qin Yi had already noticed Su Xiaowan entering the living room. To play along, he deliberately distracted Qin Nian so she wouldn’t see her mother come in.

As Su Xiaowan held Nian, she casually checked Qin Yi’s clothes. Finding no strange smell, she finally relaxed.

After playing with Qin Nian for a while longer, Su Xiaowan signaled Qin Yi to follow her to the study.

Sitting cross-legged, Qin Yi looked at his beautiful wife and joked, “My lady, what’s your command?”

Although Su Xiaowan wasn’t top-tier beautiful, on a scale of 100 for appearance and figure, she was easily a 90. Qin Yi felt lucky just to have married her.

“I had someone investigate the Red Horse Club today,” Su Xiaowan said bluntly.

Qin Yi knew she might investigate, but he hadn’t expected her to act so quickly.

“I’m sorry, wife! But I only looked at the women there—I didn’t do anything else!”

“Explain why you went to such a secretive place! Why not go to any of the other transparent clubs?”

“I have my reasons, wife!” Qin Yi said, helping his wife sit down.

He didn’t want her to be tired—she was the source of his sustenance.

Once she was seated, he continued, “It’s because the people I invited are sensitive figures.”

Su Xiaowan gave a wry smile. “The real reason is you’re afraid I’d find out, right?”

“Wife, don’t you know the principle of ‘see but don’t reveal’?”

Su Xiaowan sighed helplessly. “I don’t understand why you insist on playing with people who hold no real influence in their families. If you were hanging out with legitimate heirs, I wouldn’t mind.”

“Wife, my position only allows me to hang out with those abandoned by their families. Don’t underestimate them—the information they inadvertently reveal can sometimes help our group avoid unnecessary losses.”

Before Su Xiaowan could respond, Qin Yi continued, “Even if I shamelessly tried to befriend the heirs, they wouldn’t tell me the truth. They’d just mock me instead.”

Su Xiaowan’s expression immediately turned cold. “How dare they!”

At that moment, she radiated the presence of a true Su family lady.

Qin Yi, seeing his wife’s reaction, felt a warmth in his chest.

He realized his efforts hadn’t been in vain—even though he had indulged his desires at the club.

After all, the women there were indeed stunning—some even more beautiful than his wife.

He had, in essence, seen every type of beauty he had once read about online in his past life.

Though he hadn’t gone further, he felt satisfied.

Qin Yi embraced his wife seriously and said, “By the way, wife, I got concrete news today—the southern district won’t start construction for at least three years. We need to sell our land now while prices are high.”

He continued, “We sell high now, and later, when some companies run into financial trouble, we can buy back at a discount. The southern district will definitely see major development in the future.”

Hearing her husband’s confident answer, Su Xiaowan immediately thought about the land transfer contract between Yiwang Group and Yi Group.

If what Qin Yi said was true, buying that land from Yi Group might put Yiwang Group’s finances at serious risk in the future.
