“Xu Mo, can’t you just have a good talk with Mom? How can you say things like this…” Xu Wanting paused, unable to continue.
Xu Mo looked at her calmly and smiled. “I’ve always been talking reasonably. It’s you guys who aren’t! Look at me, how calm I am!”
“Is this your doing?” Xu Wanting stared at Xu Mo.
Xu Mo shrugged. “You can blame me if you want. It’s not the first or the last time! But let me warn you, Xu Wanting, this is just the beginning!”
“Isn’t almost bankrupting my company enough? This is just the beginning?” Xu Wanting continued to stare at him.
Xu Mo chuckled. “But it hasn’t gone bankrupt yet, right? Isn’t it still running? Don’t worry, Xu Wanting, it’ll go bankrupt sooner or later! You try your best to save it! Restore Deverna with all your might!”
“Xu Mo, what exactly do you want before you… forgive us?” Xu Shuying couldn’t help but speak, her tone shifting towards the end.
Perhaps she was also annoyed by the appearance of Lu Xiangru and her daughter.
Xu Mo glanced at her and chuckled, “Dr. Xu, let’s not joke around! Weren’t you planning to get me too? Weren’t you planning to bankrupt me as well? I remember that day on the Tsinghua campus, this person clearly told me they were going to destroy me!”
As he spoke, he looked at Xie Bingyan and smiled, “Isn’t that right, Xie Bingyan? Isn’t it so?”
Xie Bingyan trembled upon hearing this.
“My company is gone!” Xu Mo laughed. “Of course, that’s nothing! After all, I foresaw that you wanted to destroy me, so I took a step ahead and sold the company! Made a decent profit too! But, you don’t think it ends here, do you? No way, right? You really don’t think so, do you?”
Xu Wanting and Xu Shuying were stunned, mouths agape.
“I was just giving you a taste of your own medicine. It’s hardly a great evil! And Xu Deming, didn’t you want to support Xu Junzhe against me? I know very well!”
Xu Mo glanced back at them and smiled. “So, don’t accuse me here. You have no right! I just used your own tactics against you a bit. It’s not a big deal, no need to be so angry!”
“Xu Mo, isn’t this enough?” Xu Shuying’s eyes reddened.
“How could it be enough? Dr. Xu?” Xu Mo looked at her. “Why would you think this is enough? This is far from the torment I’ve endured all these years! I think letting Aunt Lu Xiangru into our family is a good choice, at least it can balance our family’s relationships!”
“You…” Xu Wanting and Xu Shuying stared wide-eyed, unable to continue, their breathing heavy.
“Even if you disagree, it doesn’t matter! I’ll work on it slowly, one step at a time! One day, it will happen!” Xu Mo smiled.
“You can try!” Xie Bingyan retorted, gritting her teeth, eyes blazing with fury.
Xu Mo chuckled again, shrugging at her. “I’ve been trying all along, never stopping! You don’t have to stare at me like that. I’ve just done what I could do! There’s no need to act so aggrieved or harbor such deep hatred. There isn’t that much deep hatred. I’ve simply used your own methods against you!”
“You…”
“I know you’ve always despised me! Coincidentally, I’ve always despised you too! So, just you wait! Wait until the day you can’t even cry! I’ll definitely set off fireworks to celebrate!”
“…”
“Xu Mo…” Xu Deming furrowed his brow.
Xu Mo turned back to him with a smile. “You should take full responsibility for this matter! But considering the future, I won’t say more for now! Let’s settle Aunt Lu Xiangru and Sister Hongluan first! I hope to cure her heart disease as soon as possible!”
“Alright, alright!” Xu Deming nodded eagerly when he saw Xu Mo wasn’t angry with him.
It seemed that as long as his son was here, Xie Bingyan and the others were completely irrelevant.
“Hongluan, let’s go!” Xu Mo said to Lu Hongluan.
Lu Hongluan hesitated for a moment, then nodded and left. She looked timid, clearly shaken by what had just happened.
“Mom!” She turned back to look at Lu Xiangru.
“Let’s go!” Lu Xiangru didn’t hesitate either and got up to leave.
Seeing this, Xie Bingyan seemed unable to contain her anger. She suddenly grabbed a cup from the table and fiercely threw it at Xu Mo.
Xu Mo had anticipated this move and dodged slightly. The cup smashed against the wall nearby with a sharp sound.
Xu Wanting and Xu Shuying were stunned, their eyes wide and their faces instantly pale.
“Mom—”
They couldn’t believe Xie Bingyan would strike.
Even Xu Yuanchan was stunned.
Seeing Xie Bingyan still poised to strike, Xu Wanting and Xu Shuying hurriedly stopped her. “Mom, what are you doing? How could you…”
Xu Wanting couldn’t continue, too frightened.
Although Xie Bingyan had hit Xu Mo before, even more than once, this time was clearly different from before.
Under these circumstances, it was hard to predict how badly their relationship would deteriorate in the future. Perhaps it could never be repaired.
“Xu Mo, don’t be angry! Mom didn’t mean it. Please leave quickly!” Xu Shuying cried in fear, hastily pleading.
Xu Mo, however, calmly watched the shattered teacup on the ground. Without panic, he picked up a broom and dustpan nearby, gently sweeping the shards into the trash bin. He sighed softly.
After finishing this, Xu Mo finally looked up at them, his gaze calm and composed.
Xu Wanting and Xu Shuying were speechless, their breathing labored, unable to predict what would happen next.
Xu Mo seemed on the verge of extreme anger.
Quiet, deadly silence! You could hear a pin drop.
Xu Wanting was pulling Xie Bingyan away, while Xie Bingyan looked towards Xu Mo with a face full of suppressed anger, gritting her teeth.
Xu Mo didn’t make many moves. After a moment, he suddenly smiled, turned, and walked towards the door with Lu Hongluan.
“Xu Mo…” Xu Shuying called out.
“Xu Mo! Mom didn’t mean it, it wasn’t intentional…” Xu Wanting cried out.
Pausing for a moment, Xu Mo turned his back to them, waved his hand in farewell.
“I will make Xu Junzhe pay! I mean it! Not even Jesus can save him!”
…
Having said that, Xu Mo and the others had already disappeared at the door.
“No, no…”
“No—”
“Waa!”
Someone started crying, wailing uncontrollably.
Almost collapsing on the ground.
Xu Wanting glanced at Xu Shuying, then turned back to Xie Bingyan, crying out, “Mom, what are you doing? Just now you wanted to hit him? Why would you want to hit him?”
Xie Bingyan remained silent, immediately sitting down on a chair.
“This isn’t years ago anymore! Xu Mo is already an adult, he’s been one for a long time!” Xu Wanting cried, “What exactly do you want to do to him to be satisfied? How much more do you want to torment him? Isn’t our family’s situation enough already?”
Xie Bingyan remained silent, slouched in the chair, her face creased with wrinkles, appearing to have aged a decade in an instant.
“I know you’re feeling wronged! I know you’re hurting inside, unable to accept this situation! You blame Dad, you blame Xu Mo! If it weren’t for Xu Mo’s birth, you wouldn’t have lost your charm, none of this would have happened! But for twenty years, you neglected him for fourteen years, tormented him for another four, isn’t that enough? What more do you want?” Xu Wanting cried incessantly.
Still, Xie Bingyan said nothing, her body trembling.
“We’ll handle that woman, why can’t you give us some time? Why did you have to throw something at him? This isn’t like before anymore!” Xu Wanting cried out, heartbroken and devastated.
