Reborn Back To The Time When I First Got A Job
Reborn Back To The Time When I First Got A Job | Chapter 6

The accountant at Feixiang Advertising is their boss’s wife, whose surname is Pei.

Yi Wei gave a brief introduction, and Lu Nan smiled and greeted Sister Pei.

Fortunately, after getting the materials, Yi Wei didn’t plan to squeeze into a bus again—with this pile of stuff, getting on a bus would be difficult; they had to call a small truck.

The small truck didn’t provide a receipt, and Lu Nan could tell that Yi Wei was feeling the pain judging by how hard he negotiated with the driver.

So, during lunch, she took the initiative to pay for their fast food.

Lu Nan paid swiftly.

The fast-food counter was crowded, and it would have looked awkward if they had stood there arguing over for ten or twenty yuan.

Yi Wei eventually accepted Lu Nan’s goodwill, and in return, he earnestly took Lu Nan to three more supermarkets after lunch. After distributing the materials, they couldn’t even afford the small truck anymore, so their mode of transport remained the bus.

The golden sun set in the west, marking the most punctual end of work Lu Nan had experienced since starting this job: Yi Wei! I really, thank you!

As they parted, Yi Wei said, “Write up today’s work report and send it to me. I’ll help you check it.” He was genuinely offering to help, as anyone could guess how brief the work reports from the newcomers Wang Xiaoxue and Sasha were on their first two days. Yi Wei thought since Lu Nan had treated him to a meal, he would teach her some tips on writing work reports.

Lu Nan thanked Yi Wei and then took a taxi home.

On the way home, she received a message from Yi Wei: “I saw you took a taxi? Remember to ask for a few more taxi receipts.”

Lu Nan: “Got it…”

…

Today’s phones didn’t have a step counter, but Lu Nan was sure she walked over 20,000 steps today.

Ah, I’m really exhausted. I’ll buy the sunscreen tomorrow. I just don’t want to move right now.

Lu Nan was grateful that she had completed more than her writing task yesterday, so today she could use yesterday’s quota and only write two chapters before lying down.

The next morning, her calves were still sore.

Gritting her teeth, Lu Nan struggled to get up and wait for the bus.

There were more people at the office today than in the past two days. Lu Nan saw her senior, Yan Kai, and walked over to greet him.

“How’s it going? Getting used to things?”

Lu Nan nodded, “Not bad. Senior, did you guys just get back from a business trip?”

Yan Kai whispered, “We came back last night. General Director Xiang, who is also the general manager of the provincial office and the boss of our province, and Manager Wang are in the small conference room. Let me tell you, take note of these people you haven’t seen. The first person on the left side of the conference table, with short hair and wearing a white dress, is Li Li. The long-haired beauty sitting on the left playing with a tablet is Zhou Tian. They are both provincial groups buying managers. The person sitting opposite Zhou Tian is Chen Xiao, the brand specialist for the classic wine series and was at the same level as the city manager. If nothing unexpected happens, you must be assigned from the group purchase channel…” The office structure was a bit complicated, so Yan Kai explained to Lu Nan, emphasizing the key point: these three were her superiors.

“I get it. The office and the brand department operate on a dual-track system. Once assigned to the group purchase channel, if I’m working on Classic Wine group purchase, my direct supervisor is Manager Li. My daily work follows the city manager’s arrangements, while brand activities follow the brand specialist’s instructions. If I’m working on Harmony Wine group purchase, my direct supervisor is Manager Zhou, and my daily arrangements are still arranged by Manager Wang. Meaning there is one less leader to put pressure on me, right?”

Yan Kai nodded, “Smart! No wonder you’re my junior. You’ve only been here a few days and already figured out the structure of the provincial and municipal offices.”

Lu Nan pretended to nod proudly and thought to herself: I know more than that. For example, Zhou Tian really has some skills; and then there’s Chen Xiao, who also has a significant background.

In short, one sentence sums it up—the Hailin Municipal Office is small, but the trouble is big!

…

Since the leaders on business trips had returned, today’s morning meeting seating was adjusted.

Qianjiang Provincial Office’s General Manager Xiang Yunfeng sat at the head of the large conference table. To his left were Li Li and Zhou Tian, whom Yan Kai had just introduced to Lu Nan. To Zhou Tian’s left was Liu Yang, followed by Chen Lu, Wang Xiaoxue, and then Lu Nan.

Manager Wang moved one seat to the right, sitting in the first right seat that Chen Xiao had intentionally left vacant for him.

Sasha, who had been sitting in the first right seat a few days ago, now sat next to Chen Xiao in the third right seat.

Yi Wei, who had taken Lu Nan on a whirlwind tour yesterday, still followed Sasha and now sat in the fourth right seat.

Yan Kai was in the fifth right seat, followed by a row of men on the right side.

Today’s morning meeting lasted a bit long.

General Manager Xiang first had Li Li talk about the outcomes of their team’s recent business trip. Lu Nan listened: they had successfully sponsored wine for a meeting, secured agreements for several five-star hotels to recommend their wine for graduation and teacher appreciation banquets, and made initial contacts with military leaders for sponsorship of wine for the August 1st Army Day. In short, the trip was quite fruitful.

Manager Wang then reported to the General Manager on the recent work in Hailin City, emphasizing that the second quarter’s sales returns were not ideal, and that Hailin City needed more manpower, resources, and policy support from the company. After listening to the report, General Manager Xiang said to Manager Wang, “The tasks at the Hailin Office are quite challenging.”

Of course, all this had nothing to do with Lu Nan.

At the end of the meeting, General Manager Xiang looked up and indicated with a gesture, “Manager Wang are you just here to complain to me… Isn’t there a newcomer? What’s your name? Introduce yourself.”

Lu Nan stood up and briefly introduced herself, stating her name, age, alma mater, and major. She concluded with the customary phrase: “I hope to quickly become part of the Yuan Chuan family, work diligently, and make positive contributions.”

“Her appearance and speech are both good. Someone like Xiaolu shouldn’t be placed in other channels. The group buying channel is still short of people,” General Manager Xiang was quite satisfied with Lu Nan’s confident and straightforward demeanor and glanced at Li Li and Zhou Tian.

Manager Wang seemed indifferent to General Manager Xiang’s involvement in municipal office matters and said humbly, “Yes, I was planning to arrange it that way. I originally wanted Lu Nan to rotate through various channels first, but now it seems I didn’t consider it thoroughly.”

General Manager Xiang laughed, “I know you, Manager Wang. You were probably waiting for the external university students to arrive before making a decision. They still have ten days or so. Li Li and Zhou Tian are very short of people; there’s no need to wait.” He then added, “I remember your municipal office doesn’t have enough dormitories? Make sure to arrange the dormitories properly soon.”

He Manlin, the provincial office clerk sitting in the corner, responded, “We have twelve people coming to the provincial office, eight males who will be assigned to various municipal offices in the province after the training period. I’ve already contacted the hotels we’ve signed agreements with and booked four standard rooms. The other four are females, one local university recruit who will join in July, and Lu… Lu Nan, all assigned to the Hailin Municipal Office. We’ll just need to rent another apartment, which Wu Fang is already looking into.” Wu Fang, the municipal office clerk sitting beside He Manlin, nodded to confirm that arrangements were underway.

“Okay,” General Manager Xiang nodded in satisfaction, concluding today’s morning meeting.

After the meeting, Lu Nan took the initiative to find Liu Yang, “Sister, I’m with you today.”

“I thought you would ask Manager Li and Manager Zhou if they needed any help,” Liu Yang glanced at Lu Nan.

Lu Nan smiled lightly, “I just started and don’t know much. How could I be of any help? It’s better to follow Manager Wang’s arrangements. Today, I’m with you, Sister Liu Yang, and tomorrow with Sister Chen Lu.”

Liu Yang discreetly observed the freshly graduated, youthful-looking girl in front of her, “Alright, then follow me.”

—

Yuan Chuan’s job level structure.

Grading:

Vertically, it starts from headquarters – region – provincial level – city;

Horizontally, there are five major brand departments, but the combined sales of the other four major brands do not match the classic wine, making the Classic Wine the strongest among the five major brand departments.

The structure is as follows:

A: Mr. Xia, the General Manager of Sales at Company A was also the General Manager of the Classic Wine Brand Department.

B: Four Deputy General Managers of the Sales Company (the other four are general managers of product brand departments); along with seven general managers of seven regions, who theoretically hold the same level as those at the local level.

C: Provincial General Manager (at the level of Xiang Yunfeng)

D: City Manager (Manager Wang), City Brand Specialist (Chen Xiao, only for Classic Wine, other wines do not have external brand specialist, and not all prefecture-level cities have specialist, some small cities – not equipped); Provincial Group Purchase Manager (Li Li and Zhou Tian)

E: Channels (five major channels: group purchase [special], catering, famous tobacco and alcohol, commercial supermarkets, circulation) Business Supervisor (Group Purchase Manager Supervisor level)

F: Business Representative (Group Purchase Manager level)

G: Sales promoters, assistant salespersons, key account managers (employed and paid by distributors, Yuan Chuan reimburses their basic wages to distributors)

Additionally, at the provincial level, there is one personnel, one accountant, one cashier, and one clerk.

The city office is supplemented by one clerk.

For city managers, there is one for each prefecture-level city! (highlighted, prefecture-level city) That is, there are several city managers in a provincial office.

For provincial general managers, there is only one provincial office in a province, that is, one provincial general manager.
