Release the Female Lead Ch. 317

Chapter 317: Xiao Feng-feng, Come Play

She mischievously twirled the golden pen over two specific points for a moment. Jin Xiaoqin, overflowing with shame, felt as if her disciple had ground away at her dignity, leaving no trace.

After a moment, Ye Wenxin let out a breath and placed Jin Xiaoqin’s clothes over her, only to see Jin Xiaoqin wearing a thoroughly despondent expression.

“Master, don’t misunderstand. This is part of the treatment,” Ye Wenxin said with an awkward smile, though she mostly did it in poor taste.

To resist Qi Deviation, Ye Wenxin once ransacked the Southern Dipper Temple’s library, harassed the abbot daily, snatched the golden pen, and then learned this Sutra of Rapture.

Whenever she had free time, she would write a few lines on herself to dispel the Yin energy accumulated from her killing spree. She never expected the Sutra of Rapture to become her best tool for combating Yin energy.

“Oh? But those last few strokes don’t seem like treatment at all.” Jin Xiaoqin fumed with hatred, yet Ye Wenxin had indeed helped heal her wounds. The heaviness on her body had disappeared, and even the healing speed of her wounds had changed. She could fully recover within three days.

Despite this, she still felt as though she had lost some crucial part of herself.

Ye Wenxin quickly gathered her things and, pretending to be very righteous, said, “Master, how could someone as powerful as you sweat over the little details? Ah, treating you was exhausting. I’ll be taking my leave now.”

Seeing Jin Xiaoqin silently raise her greataxe again, Ye Wenxin immediately ran off, leaving Jin Xiaoqin watching her retreating figure with a complex expression…

Ye Wenxin rejoined the crowd and soon saw Jin Xiaoqin, now dressed neatly, return. Her expression was natural, and she seemed completely unaffected by what had just happened. However, Ye Wenxin could tell that her stance was unsteady, her steps weak, clearly indicating she hadn’t fully recovered.

The master and disciple’s gazes met once more, and Jin Xiaoqin fumed again. However, since everyone else was resting, she merely sat down next to Ye Wenxin. Ye Wenxin chuckled and lifted the down quilt, politely inviting Jin Xiaoqin to join her.

Jin Xiaoqin shot her a glare before taking out her own bedroll and closing her eyes to rest. Ye Wenxin smiled softly, not minding Jin Xiaoqin’s attitude. Just as she was about to wrap herself up again, she saw Fairy Fengya nearby.

Fairy Fengya was still standing there, seemingly in the same position as before.

“Xiao Feng-feng, come play,” Ye Wenxin called out softly, in a cheerful mood after getting back at Jin Xiaoqin. Fairy Fengya turned and left without even glancing at Ye Wenxin. Judging by her body language, however, it seemed she was indicating for Ye Wenxin to follow her.

Ye Wenxin struggled for a moment but ultimately succumbed to the quilt’s allure. She decided to lie down for a while and wait for the temperature to warm up. She lay there for several hours, but Fairy Fengya still hadn’t returned.

Ye Wenxin, beginning to feel restless, quietly emerged from the quilt. She then spotted Fairy Fengya, not far away.

“You’ve been waiting here for this long?” asked Ye Wenxin, somewhat baffled. Sometimes she couldn’t tell if Fairy Fengya was serious or just stubborn. She had intended to keep her distance from Fairy Fengya to avoid unnecessary trouble with Long Qing’er, who might become jealous of their close relationship.

But on second thought, the atmosphere between her and Fairy Fengya increasingly felt like a clandestine affair.

“You still came,” Fairy Fengya replied, her voice as calm as ever. She was staring into the distance, feigning deep thought.

Although Fairy Fengya was only a twenty-five-year-old young woman, Ye Wenxin always felt she seemed like an ascetic old lady.

“So, Xiao Feng-feng, why did you call me?” Ye Wenxin asked apprehensively. She had a feeling she would be having more awkward conversations with Fairy Fengya today.

“Does the beauty trap work on you?” Fairy Fengya, however, went straight to the point, asking an inexplicable question. Ye Wenxin thought carefully and realized that Fairy Fengya must have overheard her discussing imaginary relationships with Jin Xiaoqin.

“Of course not. I was just teasing my master. She’s too responsible, so I told her some jokes to lighten the mood,” Ye Wenxin replied with a smile, recalling how Jin Xiaoqin’s face had softened considerably that time.

Fairy Fengya remained silent, gazing at the distant scenery. Ye Wenxin moved closer, hugging Fairy Fengya from behind. She gently stroked her waist and continued playfully, “Since we have no fate as master and disciple, what do you think about changing the idea and becoming Dao companions instead?”

As she spoke, she kissed Fairy Fengya’s neck, hoping to elicit an emotional response. However, Fairy Fengya remained calm, as if the one kissing her was nothing more than Xuan Luofei’s golden pig.

Unfazed, Ye Wenxin’s fingers moved upward, touching the chest area. Fairy Fengya’s heartbeat was steady as always. Despite this, Ye Wenxin noticed her own heartbeat quickening, worried that Fairy Fengya might strike her with her palm, forcing her to experience the joy of having her cultivation severed again.

But Fairy Fengya didn’t; she merely shook her head and said, “No, becoming my disciple and reaching the Golden Core stage is a prerequisite.”

Ye Wenxin didn’t release her hold. She activated her own luck, attempting to contaminate Fairy Fengya’s phoenix luck.

But no matter how the peach blossom aura floated and surged, it couldn’t get close to the phoenix aura. Instead, Ye Wenxin felt herself weakening, as if Fairy Fengya’s luck was eradicating hers, causing her body to grow frail.

Ye Wenxin quickly let go and immediately felt better. The phoenix aura perched on Fairy Fengya’s shoulder looked at Ye Wenxin, its expression full of contempt. It seemed to be looking down on all living things, completely dismissing Ye Wenxin’s aura.

The powerful golden phoenix was brilliant and dazzling, reminding Ye Wenxin that her life would always be like her peach blossom luck—never having a better future.

Ye Wenxin sighed, but thinking back to the place she had just touched, she felt she hadn’t lost out at all. A smile reappeared on her lips as she hummed a little tune and walked back, only to find Long Qing’er awake.

Long Qing’er seemed to have noticed that Ye Wenxin and Fairy Fengya had disappeared together, her eyes showing a hint of vigilance. Ye Wenxin felt like slapping herself, nearly forgetting that Fairy Fengya now had a disciple, and this disciple had an unusual affection for her master.

She put on a slightly fearful expression, reminding Long Qing’er to be mindful of her own expression.
