Doudou had followed Jiang Ning to learn for several years and understood some medical knowledge. She believed she had injured her nerves and that caused her blindness.
The roaring sandstorm kept coming and poured into her ears and nose. Flying stones hit her body from time to time. She couldn’t speak and could only crawl on the ground.
No matter where she searched, she couldn’t find her brother, and their car was nowhere to be seen.
Not knowing where she was, her immediate priority was to avoid the sandstorm.
She couldn’t see, so she could only crawl in the wind and sand by feeling. She couldn’t stand up at all. She would either be blown away by the sandstorm or hit by flying stones.
But Doudou was lucky. After crawling for several hours, she finally reached the foot of a mountain.
But the mountain faced the wind, so she cautiously climbed around to the sheltered side.
She touched several people along the way, but she couldn’t tell whether they were dead or alive; they couldn’t move anyway.”
Fortunately, the first aid kit was tied to her body and was not swept away by the sandstorm.
After spitting out the sand in her mouth, Doudou unscrewed the mineral water bottle and took a few sips, then tore open a compressed biscuit and ate a piece.
It tasted terrible, and it was even harder to swallow than cold-resistant potatoes, but she ate it all without wasting a single drop.
Whether it was drinking water or food, she strictly followed her brother’s instructions and saved every bit.
There were medicines in the first aid kit. Although she couldn’t see them clearly, she identified each one by touching the packaging. Doudou knew how much medicine to take for different injuries; her sister-in-law had already listed them and asked her to memorize them. After taking the medicine, she rested with the dagger in her hand.
Except for the roaring sand, no other sound could be heard. After an unknown amount of time, the weather turned cold.
She didn’t know how long had passed before it started getting colder.
It seems to be getting dark. Doudou took out a blanket from the first aid kit and wrapped herself in it.
Despite eating, she still felt pain, and it seemed like she had a fever. Her lips were cracked and peeling, her throat felt like it was on fire.
She didn’t know when the sandstorm would stop. The nerve compression caused her to go blind, and it would not be solved in a day or two. She didn’t dare to drink more water, so she could only swallow a mouthful to quench her thirst.
As it grew colder, her body instinctively curled up.
It seemed like someone was calling her, someone like her brother, her sister-in-law, and Coke.
But when she opened his eyes, it was still pitch black, because she had just been hit by a thick layer of sand.
The fever went away but came back again, so she could only continue to eat.
It was pitch dark, and Doudou couldn’t help but recall her childhood. Her little cousin scolded her for not having parents and eating for free. At that time, she cried and pushed him away. Her uncle locked her in the utility room and didn’t give her food or water for a day and a night. When she wanted to apologize to her little cousin, he spat in her face.
Since then, she had been afraid of the dark.
She thought she had long forgotten those memories, but they only became clearer.
When would the sandstorm stop? She missed her brother, sister-in-law, and even Coke.
Yet, one day passed, then two, then three…
There were only three bottles of water in the first aid kit. After a few days of fever, even if she drank sparingly, it was all gone.
There were still two pieces of compressed biscuits left, but her throat burned like fire, and she could only force herself to swallow.
Later, even the compressed biscuits were gone.
She couldn’t remember how long she had endured. Her eyes seemed to vaguely see something, but the combination of hunger and thirst made her feel dizzy, and the sandstorm showed no signs of stopping.
Faintly, it seemed like she had returned to her childhood, with her parents joyfully embracing her.
Her consciousness became increasingly blurred, and Doudou curled up weakly, “Brother, sister-in-law…”
When she opened her eyes again, she was already in the cave.
Doudou had never experienced this before, but her brother and sister-in-law had recounted many stories. She must have been captured by local criminal forces.
Doudou knew very well what would happen to the captured girl. First, she would become a plaything, and then food.
Her vision hadn’t recovered well, and the past few days of being choked by the sandstorm had left her still swollen.
She touched her body and found that not only was the first aid kit gone, but also her gun and dagger were taken away.
She felt relieved when she noticed the blade strapped to her thigh was still there.
Without a clear understanding of the situation, Doudou did not dare to act rashly.
After some time, several women were thrown into the cave.
The men spoke obscenely, and many of them had scars on their faces from acid rain, like a hideous demons from hell.
Five women were thrown in, but they seemed preoccupied with something else and locked the door before leaving.
With her poor eyesight, she could not see their appearance clearly. After making sure that Jiang Ning was not inside, Doudou closed her eyes to rest and recuperate.
The cave was silent, and the fainted women woke up one after another. Some cried out of fear, some looked around in panic…
One of them sat up slowly and looked around with an indifferent expression.
Feeling someone staring at her, Doudou opened her eyes a little and a flash of surprise crossed her mind, but she quickly calmed down.
The other person did the same, mouth slightly open but saying nothing and finally nudged the unconscious person next to her.
A few hours later, several men came in and looked at the women they had captured in the past two days. With green eyes, they selected six or seven women with flesh on their bodies, and those who were imprisoned before and were as thin as skeletons were disdained and let go.
Taking advantage of the sudden sandstorm, they made a quick fortune. Not only did they find supplies, but they also found a group of beautiful women.
These women were pampered from wealthy families and they still have faces and waists after so many years in the end of the world.
It had been a long time since they had seen such tender flesh. Especially the one they picked up yesterday. She looked so young and tender, and she looked like she had never had sex.
They were excited for tonight.
The knife slammed on the door heavily, and he shouted rudely, “You, come out.”
He pointed at several people, including Doudou.
Doudou struggled to stand, then collapsed once more, she started mumbling. “Water… water…”
The man came up and was about to kick her, but she looked pale, her body twitching weakly, and she seemed to be dying at any moment.
She was the youngest and most beautiful among them, a prize for the boss. They couldn’t afford to let her die.
Pointing casually at two women, he ordered, “You two, help her out.”
The two women approached nervously and helped the unconscious Doudou up. One of them spoke up, “She seems sick, with a high fever. Shouldn’t we give her some water?”
The other women bravely agreed, “Yes, we are almost dying of thirst. Please give us some water and food.”
The man shouted angrily, “Shut up! Believe it or not, I will beat you!”
The woman who was supporting Doudou spoke again, “What if she is dying?”
The man ordered them to come out and let the others watch while he went to report to his boss.
“Boss, these are good stuff. They are all pampered from wealthy families. They probably never suffered any hardship. They have been trapped in the sandstorm for a few days and all look as weak as chickens. They won’t last long without some food and water. Should we give them something?”
Otherwise, they might not survive the night.
“They are all good stuff. We should keep them and play with them slowly.”
The man known as the boss thought about it and then said, “Give them food and water, but don’t feed them too much. Keep them at four-fifths full.”
With the orders in hand, he immediately went to make arrangements…
