Chapter 26: Wen Family Barbeque

On the wedding night, passionate men and women, if you can hold back, then stop being human and be a turtle.

Wen Jiajia only felt her body burning hot, as if she had turned into a volcano that was about to erupt but was being suppressed.

The winter night was quiet, and the wooden house had no sound insulation, so the young couple didn’t dare to make too much noise.

Wei Dai, who was doing this for the first time, was not very good at it. He started the second game with a dark face without saying a word.

Wen Jiajia was still in the mood to comfort him. After all, Wei Dai was not the protagonist of a p*rn novel. Seven times a night only appeared in novels, and no one in reality was so gifted.

But gradually, she lost the mood.

After three rounds, Wen Jiajia couldn’t take it anymore and pushed Wei Dai away: “I can’t take it anymore, I need to take a breath.”

She almost suffocated, she felt like she was burning, and was too tired to move.

Happiness was very happy. After being happy, the two of them lay flat on their backs, staring at the ceiling with lifeless eyes.

“Pour me a glass of water,” Wen Jiajia moved him.

Wei Dai propped himself up with his hands and sat up. His arm muscles were thriving, and Wen Jiajia could see it clearly in the dim candlelight.

The water in the bucket beside the bed was icy cold. Wei Dai carried it to the door and poured water onto the table by the window.

The water in the thermos, still warm, flowed down her throat into her stomach, like clear water flowing through long-dried land, and she came back to life.

Wen Jiajia kicked the quilt and leaned on the pillow, “I still want to eat persimmons.” She saw today that the Wei family actually had persimmons.

Wei Dai gulped down a large glass of water and lovingly brushed the wet hair off her forehead: “Okay, wait, I’ll get you some persimmons!” At this moment, even if Wen Jiajia said she wanted to eat apples, pears, chicken, duck, or pig’s trotters, he would go and help find them.

Wen Jiajia: “Be quiet!”

“Don’t worry. If I could be caught stealing a persimmon, I’d better retire early,” Wei Dai said with a smile after putting on his clothes.

“…”

Why say such harsh words? What is stealing?

We are married now; can it be considered stealing if we eat our own food?

The door, which would normally creak, made no sound under Wei Dai’s hand. He simply opened the door and went out carrying the wooden barrel.

The cold wind instantly rushed into the room, bringing chills to the warm room, and some of the suggestive smells also disappeared in the cold air.

Wen Jiajia was naked, so she quickly huddled under the quilt, twisting and turning in the quilt, and finally got her clothes on.

Wei’s parents were very thoughtful. They made a brand new quilt for the baby, which was extremely warm.

The mattress beneath her was also very spacious. Wen Jiajia lifted a corner and took a look. It had three layers.

The bottom layer is a straw mat, the second layer is an old cotton mat, and the top layer looks much newer. I wonder if it is a new cotton mat.

Wei Dai quickly returned to his room with two persimmons in his hands. The persimmons were as red as red lanterns, and they made people happy just by looking at them.

“Eat it. It’s too cold. You can only eat one,” Wei Dai handed one to her and, of course, served the remaining one himself.

Wen Jiajia was wrapped in a quilt, sitting on the edge of the bed, lowering her head and slowly peeling persimmons.

The persimmon was so soft and juicy that its orange-red juice soon ran down her hand.

No need to bite; she took a slurp.

“Mmm, so sweet!”

Wen Jiajia was amazed.

The persimmon flesh melted in her mouth, moistening her throat and suppressing the dryness in her body.

“I want to eat another one,” Wen Jiajia said pitifully. Wei Dai almost couldn’t help but give her the persimmon in his hand.

“No, aren’t you still taking medicine from time to time?” In the face of beauty, the tested Wei Dai passed the test with great difficulty.

Wen Jiajia immediately raised a finger: “Then give me another bite, just one bite.”

Wei Dai endured it and handed it over.

He cursed himself secretly: You are a loser.

Wen Jiajia ate one bite at a time, and after finishing, she got up, put on her clothes, and went to brush her teeth.

Wei Dai was like a wolf, rushing around recklessly, but she had no experience, so Wen Jiajia’s legs were weak, and it took her a while to adjust before she could slowly walk out.

The Wei family’s house is an old one. It is quite large, but the house is quite dilapidated.

Wei Dai’s brother’s house is about five or six minutes away from here. Now only Wei Dai’s parents can still work, but when they can no longer work, they will have to pack up and live with Wei Dai’s brother.

The layouts of the local houses are similar, and the Wei family’s house is not much different from the Wen family’s.

Perhaps because they were richer, there were stairs on both sides of their patio. Going upstairs was a large hall with two rooms and two granaries on both sides.

It’s a very evenly-proportioned house. It seems that when the house was built, the two brothers were intended to have one side each. But Wei Dai went to the army, and Brother Wei was not willing to live in the old house.

Wen Jiajia brought a cup, toothpaste, and toothbrush and secretly went to the patio. When she was about to brush her teeth, she forgot that she had no water, so she tiptoed back to the room to get some water.

The main room was chilly, and the wind blew in gusts from the patio, turning her face, which was as red as a monkey’s butt, pale. If it blew any further, it would turn blue and purple.

Wen Jiajia finished brushing quickly, returned to the room, and pushed Wei Dai out to brush as well.

When he finished brushing and entered the house, he saw his newly-wed wife sitting on the bed and looking at him seriously.

Wei Dai quietly touched his waist, locked the door, and asked in a low voice, “Do you want to come again?” If she could still accept it, it would not be impossible for him to do so.

Wen Jiajia rolled her eyes and patted the quilt: “Come here, I want to talk to you.”

Wei Dai walked over, took off his clothes, and sat on the bed.

Wen Jiajia sat face to face with him and said seriously, “Let me tell you first, Wei Dai, you must pay attention to hygiene. You must brush your teeth every morning and evening. If you eat garlic or leeks during meals, you must also brush your teeth.”

Wei Dai: “I will brush sooner or later.”

Wen Jiajia opened his mouth and looked him up and down. Hmm, there were no cavities, which was pretty good.

Moreover, Wei Dai’s teeth are well-grown, white, and neat, so his future children will most likely not inherit rotten teeth.

“Also, you have to take a shower every day in the summer,” she said.

Wei Dai: “Jia Jia, you don’t know the army well enough. Every summer, we are covered in sweat and can’t go into the house without taking a shower.”

Wen Jiajia: “In winter… you have to wash. Even if you don’t have training, you still have to wash.”

She originally wanted to wash every other day, but once the bathroom is built, she can wash every day.

Wei Dai nodded hesitantly.

Wen Jiajia was satisfied.

She doesn’t want to sleep with a stinky man next to her, and she doesn’t want the quilt cover that she just washed to turn yellow after just two days of sleeping.

“Okay, let’s go to bed.”

Wen Jiajia pulled the quilt, lay down, and fell asleep. She kicked Wei Dai and said, “Go blow out the lights.”

Wei Dai went to blow out the lamp, and then he fell asleep while holding his wife.

___

The next day.

It was dawn late, and Wen Jiajia knew it was six o’clock in the morning by the alarm clock in Wei Dai’s room.

“Dong, Dong, Dong, Dong–” the bell struck six times.

Wen Jiajia frowned, turned over, and hid in the quilt, covering her ears so that only her forehead was exposed.

She was in a daze, but she knew that Wei Dai had to take the train back to the army today.

“Don’t you want to get up?” She didn’t open her eyes but whispered while hugging Wei Dai’s waist.

Wei Dai also woke up and hugged her tighter: “Lie down for a while, the train is at 10 o’clock.”

All right! Wen Jiajia fell asleep again.

When she woke up again, it was already seven o’clock.

There was no one around her, but there was still heat in the quilt, which showed that Wei Dai had just woken up not long ago.

“Wake up? Let’s eat.” Wei Dai heard some noise in the room, pushed the door open, and said, “Don’t you like eating pot-side porridge? That’s what I’m going to make today.”

Wen Jiajia dressed faster: “Have Chun’er and Xuanxuan gotten up?”

“They got up early and finished their meal. They playing with Wenzhu at the door now.”

Wen Jiajia thought that the two children were quite easy-going. They were crying yesterday, but now they are playing again.

Unexpectedly, the person cooking at home was Wei Dai’s father, Wei Chengcai.

Wen Jiajia came to the kitchen and called Dad. Wei Chengcai smiled and asked her, “Do you eat some green onions?”

“Eat.”

Wei Chengcai lit the fire vigorously, poured rice paste on the wall of the pot, and then shoveled the solidified rice paste into the soup in the pot.

The soup is just an ordinary soup, but because it contains some meat and dried shrimps, the soup is particularly fresh and fragrant.

Wei Chengcai also fried dough sticks, and the pot-side batter was paired with the dough sticks, which made Wen Jiajia feel relaxed and happy.

After a while, Jianwen Xuan came running in, not even looking at her aunt. She tilted her head beside Wei Chengcai’s legs and said, “Grandpa, I want to eat one more fried dough stick. This time it’s really the last one.”

Wei Chengcai was not good at speaking, so he handed her a fried dough stick. She said thank you and ran away again, still without even looking at her aunt.

Wen Jiajia: “…”

He was a little smart kid, and he probably didn’t know how many times he had eaten the “last one” before.

Wei Dai was packing up, and Wen Jiajia helped him pack up after dinner.

“You will go back to Fuyang with the donkey cart later, around nine o’clock. The team will go to Jinbu Commune to deliver fish,” he said.

Wen Jiajia felt reluctant to leave him: “Then how do you go to the county town? Go by bicycle?”

Wei Dai nodded: “Brother will come with me. He can ride back after I get on the bike.”

Wen Jiajia sighed and said nothing more.

Wei Dai had a lot to say but didn’t know how to start. In the end, he just said, “I will apply for the quota to accompany the army as soon as possible. Within three months, really.”

Wen Jiajia: “I believe you.”

Wei Dai has a very high reputation in her eyes, and he always does what he says.

When the day dawned, Wei Dai left home with two bags, looking back every three steps.

Since he left, Wen Jiajia naturally had to leave as well.

Wei Dai had told her parents in advance, and when Wen Jiajia left, Wei’s parents even packed a lot of food for her to take away.

“These are meatballs. We fried them yesterday, but they weren’t served yet,” Cai Ruyun said. “It’s okay to keep them for a few days in this weather. And take some fried pumpkin with you. I see Xuanxuan likes it very much.”

Wen Jiajia felt extremely uncomfortable and smiled awkwardly: “Xuanxuan is a greedy girl. She likes to eat everything.”

She was so embarrassed to go home after eating and taking so much that she felt she had gone too far.

She seems to be a bit too much…

The cold wind was howling. After getting on the donkey cart, Wen Jiajia thought so while holding a lot of things.

Fuyang’s home was still the same as before. After all, she was only away for one day.

The only ones that weren’t used to it were the chickens at home, which were clucking and wanted to eat.

Wen Chun and Wen Xuan were more accustomed to staying at home, so after putting down their things, they immediately ran to play with Meihua. They wanted to talk to Meihua about the new friends they met yesterday.

Where was Wen Jiajia? She was unpacking her things.

She brought back half a bag of meatballs from the Wei’s house and poured them out, placing them in the cupboard.
