As the two continued their argument, Xu Shuying found herself unable to mediate and decided to seek out Xu Xuehui for a chat.
Since Eldest Sister’s incident, Xu Xuehui had been unusually silent.
She wasn’t willing to discuss the matter much.
In fact, Xu Xuehui’s stance had shifted somewhat. Setting Eldest Sister aside, she felt that allowing Lu Hongluan to be added to the Xu family’s household registry wasn’t out of the question.
She even supported the idea of giving Xu Mo whatever he wanted, as long as he was willing to come home. If he was willing to return and reconcile!
After all, they were family, and there was no need for such a rift.
However, after she voiced this opinion, Third Sister and Fourth Sister disagreed. They felt that Xu Mo’s current behavior was too extreme, and allowing him to return to the Xu family might only make things worse. They were adamantly opposed to reconciliation.
So now, Second Sister had also begun to retreat into herself.
When Xu Shuying entered Xu Xuehui’s room, Xu Xuehui was sitting by the window, gazing at the flowers outside.
Lately, Xu Xuehui had been holding back her thoughts.
“Second Sister!” Xu Shuying walked in.
“It’s been many years! After all this time, why can’t things be resolved? Must everyone be this way?” Xu Xuehui spoke, her voice trembling.
When Xu Shuying approached, she was stunned to see Second Sister in tears, her face covered in weeping.
“Actually, you and I both know that if only they were willing to apologize, if only they would admit their mistakes, things would be much better! If only they would acknowledge their faults, we wouldn’t be in this situation!” Xu Xuehui continued, “Third Sister, Fourth Sister, and Mom! I don’t know what to say to make them admit their mistakes! Is this how it will be for the rest of our lives? Will Xu Mo be forever left outside?”
“He has grown up! He is no longer the Xu Mo who could be manipulated easily! And she, sooner or later, will grow old!”
Xu Shuying was taken aback, opening her mouth to speak but suddenly at a loss for words.
“I know Manni dislikes Xu Mo! Back then, when she had a fever, Xu Mo risked everything to carry her to the hospital! And what did she do?” Xu Xuehui continued, “Xu Mo has never wronged her! He hasn’t done anything to harm her! And what did she do in return?”
Xu Shuying was unsure about Xu Mo’s thoughts.
Logically, he should have harbored more hatred for Third Sister Xu Manni, but in reality, Xu Mo seemed to disregard Xu Manni entirely and appeared to harbor more resentment towards Eldest Sister Xu Wanting.
This might be related to his past admiration.
It is often said that an eldest sister is like a mother, and Xu Mo’s previous adoration for Xu Wanting could be a factor.
“Have Third Sister and Fourth Sister both refused to forgive? Have they not relented at all?”
“Fourth Sister hates Xu Mo intensely! She’s been looking for evidence recently! The last incident made her lose face, and Fourth Sister is relentless!” Xu Xuehui replied.
“And Mom…”
“I don’t know what Mom thinks! She keeps saying Xu Mo is unfeeling and ungrateful, but isn’t she the same? She never really cared about him! From beginning to end, it’s been like this!” Xu Xuehui’s voice quivered with tears. “Perhaps Xu Mo knows this, which is why he’s retaliating as much as he can!”
“All she has to do is admit her mistakes! If she would just apologize to Xu Mo, maybe things could be resolved. But she refuses, and perhaps she will never be willing to do so in her lifetime!”
“Wuwu…”
As Xu Xuehui spoke, she began to cry.
Xu Shuying felt a deep pang of sadness. After a moment of thought, she walked over and gently hugged her.
It seemed that the Xu family was beyond saving.
Everyone was beyond saving!
…
Meanwhile, on the other side, Gao Cai’er and Xu Junzhe.
The fire had now reached Xu Deming.
Within the company, there were numerous voices of criticism, accusing Xu Deming of poor management and causing damage to the company’s reputation. They were calling for an internal investigation.
Messages had also come from Xu Bohan, inquiring about the situation. It was reported that the matter was very serious, and Xu Bohan was extremely dissatisfied with how things were being handled.
On Xu Junzhe’s side, he was frantically working to contain the damage, trying to shift the blame onto Xu Wanting to protect the reputation of Fengxiang Jewelry and save its sales.
If he succeeded, he would become a great benefactor of Fengxiang Jewelry. And if Xu Deming’s position was affected, Xu Junzhe would likely be relied upon to control Fengxiang Jewelry.
Thus, with the goal within reach, Xu Junzhe had been working tirelessly for several days and nights, with dark circles appearing under his eyes.
Almost every night, he dragged his exhausted body back to the Xu family’s mansion.
The reason for his efforts was to show Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming that he was working hard to ensure the smooth operation of Fengxiang Jewelry.
In the midst of the Xu family’s turmoil, he was giving his all to stabilize everything. Only he could shoulder the future responsibilities of the family.
As a result, Xu Deming and Xie Bingyan were very pleased with Xu Junzhe.
Even Xu Deming, seeing Xu Junzhe with dark circles and utterly exhausted, patted him on the shoulder to show his encouragement.
To this, Xu Junzhe could only sneer inwardly.
He knew very well what Xu Deming had been up to in recent days.
Xu Deming was secretly contacting Xu Mo and trying to bring that illegitimate daughter back into the Xu family.
In Xu Deming’s mind, Xu Mo was still the primary heir.
It had been this way before, and it was still this way now.
Therefore, Xu Deming’s praise did nothing to endear him to Xu Junzhe. Instead, it only deepened his disdain for him.
Xu Junzhe was increasingly certain in his mind that he was doing the right thing. Only by completing this task could he secure Fengxiang Jewelry for himself.
“Dad! I’ll work hard! I will definitely protect Fengxiang Jewelry and make sure Eldest Sister returns safely!”
“The damage to Fengxiang Jewelry’s reputation is indeed serious, but I’ve implemented several measures to minimize the impact. Our team will also produce a video to apologize to all consumers, hoping to restore some of the reputation,” Xu Junzhe said wearily.
“Good, good, good! You’re doing well!” Xu Deming said with a pleased smile, very satisfied with Xu Junzhe’s performance.
“Then I’ll go check on Mom. I wonder if she’s still angry?” Xu Junzhe said, tired of continuing the conversation. He found Xu Deming to be exceedingly hypocritical.
“Go ahead! But if she’s still angry, talk to her more. She also wants to see you right now,” Xu Deming said.
“Yes!” Xu Junzhe nodded.
He was well aware of his position, which was almost entirely due to Xie Bingyan, so he treated her extremely well and showed a lot of filial piety.
However, Xu Junzhe also clearly remembered a time when Xie Bingyan’s attitude had softened and seemed to turn toward Xu Mo.
So, Xu Junzhe remembered that!
He remembered it entirely!
In fact, Xie Bingyan probably hadn’t forgotten her biological son either. Now, dealing with him was just a way to vent her frustration!
The Xu family was beyond saving!
…
On the other side!
Gao Cai’er was also quite pleased as she met with her mother, Tan Qin, and stepfather, Liu Kaikang, to discuss the upcoming matters.
“The situation with Fengxiang Jewelry is severe, but for now, we need to stabilize Xu Junzhe’s position at Fengxiang Jewelry. Only by doing so can he control most of the company’s rights!”
“We need to direct the blame towards the Xu family and Xu Deming, causing Xu Deming to lose the trust of most people. This way, Xu Junzhe can step up and shoulder the responsibility!”
“As long as we achieve this, the subsequent steps will be much simpler!”
“What about Xu Junzhe’s other competitor, Xu Ankang? It seems the Xu family is not particularly pleased with him.”
“Deal with him!” Stepfather Liu Kaikang took a puff of his cigarette and spoke calmly.
“Deal with him?” Gao Cai’er was taken aback.
Liu Kaikang, the notorious underworld figure, showed a glimmer of murderous intent in his eyes. “At the very least, make sure he can’t move. Only then will Xu Junzhe have a chance!”
Gao Cai’er remained silent, aware of the significant risks involved. If discovered, it could provoke the Xu family’s wrath and result in severe retaliation.
“Don’t worry. I have ways to ensure we won’t be traced,” Liu Kaikang said calmly. “What I’m truly concerned about now is Xu Mo, the Xu family’s biological son. It’s very difficult to find an opportunity to act against him.”
