70s Young Wife Teased! Black-bellied Officer Loses Control in Jealousy Chapter 111

Chapter 111: The window paper is pasted again

Cheng Jingmo changed into his pajamas and carried his pillow to Yu Xiangnian’s room.

Yu Xiangnian was already lying on the inside of the bed, blinking at Cheng Jingmo, waiting for him to get in bed.

Although it wasn’t their first time sleeping together, Cheng Jingmo still felt awkward.

Avoiding her gaze out of shyness, he placed his pillow on the bed, quickly turned off the light, and fumbled his way into bed.

His posture in bed was as rigid as standing at attention in the military, only now he was lying down instead of standing.

Initially, Yu Xiangnian lay quietly on her side, but after more than ten minutes, she started to move.

She edged closer to Cheng Jingmo, pretending to be asleep, and draped her arm over his waist.

She wanted to see if this straightforward man would take the opportunity to hug her while she was “asleep.”

However, despite waiting for a long time, Cheng Jingmo remained motionless. He neither pushed her away nor hugged her back.

Eventually, Yu Xiangnian fell asleep for real.

Only when he sensed her steady breathing and felt her body fully relaxed did Cheng Jingmo slightly turn towards her.

Facing her, he gently reached out and pulled her into his arms.

Yu Xiangnian snuggled into his embrace, and Cheng Jingmo’s heart melted at that moment.

He lowered his head, inhaling the faint magnolia scent of her hair, and a smile gradually spread across his face.

This was the third time he held Yu Xiangnian.

The first time was when she had sprained her ankle and he had to carry her.

The second time was when she had narrowly escaped danger, and he had hugged her in a moment of emotional overflow.

This time, he was clear-headed, holding Yu Xiangnian in his arms out of genuine affection.

However, having her soft body in his arms caused him quite a bit of discomfort.

Especially around dawn, he struggled to control himself.

Before the usual military wake-up call, he got up quickly, fearing he wouldn’t be able to hold out any longer if he stayed in bed.

The military had given Cheng Jingmo two months of sick leave, so he didn’t need to go to work and was resting at home.

He cooked two bowls of noodles for breakfast, woke Xiao Jie up for school, and Yu Xiangnian continued to sleep until around ten o’clock.

After she got up, he cooked another bowl of noodles for her.

While Yu Xiangnian ate her noodles, Cheng Jingmo went out, saying he was going to find Yu Xiangyang.

Watching his departing figure, Yu Xiangnian muttered softly, “Are you even normal?”

Last night, she had snuggled up to him, yet he had no reaction at all?!

What a blockhead!

With Cheng Jingmo at home, Yu Xiangnian enjoyed herself, doing nothing all day but working at the desk in their bedroom.

The day passed quickly.

Around ten o’clock at night, as Yu Xiangnian was preparing for bed, she heard a knock at the door.

Cheng Jingmo went to answer it, and there stood Yu Xiangyang, suspiciously looking around with a folding wire bed on his shoulder.

Once inside, he asked, “Where should I put this bed?”

Yu Xiangnian, stunned, looked at the bed, then at Cheng Jingmo.

It dawned on her that Cheng Jingmo’s earlier trip to find Yu Xiangyang was to ask him to bring a bed!

That dog of a man must be sick! His brain is sick! His body is sick!

She had hinted so obviously, yet he refused to sleep with her and opted for a folding bed instead?!

Yu Xiangnian looked helplessly at Xiao Jie, who gave her a sympathetic but helpless look.

Cheng Jingmo directed Yu Xiangyang to place the bed in a corner of the main room against the wall.

Yu Xiangnian, frustrated and deliberately ignorant, asked, “Yu Xiangyang, why are you bringing a bed so late at night?”

Yu Xiangyang, much like Cheng Jingmo, didn’t catch Yu Xiangnian’s drift at all.

Feeling proud, he said, “I specifically waited until everyone was asleep before bringing it over. Otherwise, if the neighbors saw us setting up such a simple bed, who knows what they’d say about you.”

Yu Xiangnian forced a smile, “Then I really should thank you.”

“No need to be polite!” Yu Xiangyang replied, “This bed is convenient. It doesn’t take up much space. At night, you unfold it, and in the morning, you fold it back up.”

Yu Xiangnian retorted, “I wish I had the Italian artillery from the Second Battalion to blast you both into outer space. You two belong there.”

“You two are such oddballs!” she added before storming off to the bedroom, slamming the door behind her.

Cheng Jingmo stared at the closed door, half-understanding.

“What’s wrong with her now?” Yu Xiangyang scratched his head.

Cheng Jingmo remained silent, equally puzzled.

Seeing Cheng Jingmo not responding, Yu Xiangyang asked again, “What’s the range of that Italian cannon she mentioned? Can it reach outer space?”

Cheng Jingmo seriously replied, “Generally, cannons have a range of about a thousand kilometers. Reaching outer space is impossible!”

Yu Xiangyang added, “I heard our country has developed a new cannon with a range nearing two thousand kilometers!”

Xiao Jie, observing the two discussing cannons, shook his head in resignation and returned to his room.

After Yu Xiangyang left, Cheng Jingmo lay on the folding bed, utterly perplexed.

He had arranged for this bed partly to avoid making Yu Xiangnian uncomfortable by sharing a bed and partly to prevent himself from losing control.

But Yu Xiangnian’s reaction suggested she didn’t want this bed.

So did she want him to sleep with her?

Yet, she seemed unwilling yesterday?!

So, does she want it or not?!

In the other room, Yu Xiangnian turned over restlessly.

That dog of a man!

The window paper she had painstakingly pierced was now covered up again by him!

Time flew by, and soon it was the end of September.

The Southern Theater Command issued another commendation order.

Cheng Jingmo received a second-class merit award, just over three months after his third-class merit award.

This good news quickly spread throughout the entire military region, making all the soldiers envious and jealous.

While it might take others three to four years to earn a third-class merit, Cheng Jingmo had already received a third-class and a second-class merit within just a few months!

Yu Xiangnian had only seen such medals on TV, adorned on the chests of great heroes. This was her first time seeing a real medal.

Excited, Yu Xiangnian touched the medal and compared it against her chest.

Then, she picked up the commendation order and read aloud:

“Comrades Cheng Jingmo and Yu Xiangyang, among others, bravely faced danger and risked their lives to capture a spy ring that had long been lurking within our borders. They seized over a hundred pieces of intelligence stolen by this organization, significantly contributing to the security of our nation and its people! Special commendation awarded!”

After reading, Yu Xiangnian looked at him with shining eyes, “Cheng Jingmo, you are amazing!”

Cheng Jingmo couldn’t stand the way Yu Xiangnian looked at him, those eyes seemed to emit electricity, making him feel dazed and almost believe he was a great hero in her eyes.

Avoiding her gaze, he took four hundred yuan from his pocket and placed it on the table, “This is the bonus.”

“Let’s go to the city tomorrow and deposit the money.”

Yu Xiangnian mentally calculated, adding this four hundred yuan, their household account would have eight hundred and eighty yuan!

The next day, they went to the bank to deposit the money.

There weren’t many people in the bank, and Yu Xiangnian immediately noticed a man with a glowing halo over his head.
