Chapter 166: Fight

Just as the elder brother Luo Tiancheng was about to stand up when Qiao Juan said, “It’s not necessarily for us to designate, but our family is all here and eating our meal.”

Second brother Luo Tianming heard the knocking at the door, urgent as it was, and walked out of the courtyard towards the main gate, casually asking, “Who’s there?”

From outside the gate came, “Is this Luo Bin family?” He wasn’t entirely sure so the person asked the question.

Luo Tianming, recalling the debt collection incident last time, now upon hearing someone looking for Luo Bin, felt uneasy but couldn’t deny it.

Opening the gate, Luo Tianming saw a young man in his twenties: “Who are you?”

The young man said, “Uncle, I’m the youngest son of Old Li from the alley ahead. I work at the cotton spinning factory. Just now, after work, I saw Luo Bin fighting with someone on Jianfang Road. You should hurry over and take a look. Some people are bleeding.”

Luo Tianming was scared upon hearing this and rushed outside. After running a few steps, he shouted, “Thank you!”

Inside the house, Feng Hui didn’t see anyone come in but noticed someone running out. She quickly went out of the courtyard. Seeing Old Li’s youngest son about to leave, she hurriedly walked a few steps to stop him, saying, “Hey, wait! You’re Old Li’s son from ahead?”

Old Li’s youngest son replied, “Yes, Auntie, I’m Li Kuo.”

Feng Hui anxiously asked, “What’s going on? Why did Tianming run out like that?”

Li Kuo said, “Auntie, just now when I came back, I saw Luo Bin fighting with someone on Jianfang Road. Tianming uncle ran out anxiously.”

Feng Hui looked at Li Kuo and said, “That’s impossible. My Luo Bin is well-behaved. How could he be involved in a fight? You must have made a mistake.”

She waved her hand to let Li Kuo leave, and she turned back into the courtyard. In fact, she feels uneasy herself.

Ever since Luo Bin returned, he often conflicts with her, his mother, because of trivial matters. Over the past few months, he had been causing trouble, and due to gambling debts, he even caused the second family to receive one less kitchen when the property was divided.

But this involves neighbors and the neighborhood. Fighting like this doesn’t sound good at all. If the neighbors hear about it, it’ll ruin their reputation. That Li family’s youngest son really is too troublesome.

Feng Hui herself is quite a character. It’s fortunate others don’t know what’s going on with her, or she’d be the butt of jokes. At this time, how could she be more concerned about her reputation?

But after all this, she still feels uneasy. She went back inside and told her daughter and youngest son to start eating first before she took off her apron and headed out.

When she arrived, Jianfang Road was in a mess, with lots of bloodstains. Now she was truly worried. She asked passersby and learned that one person had been taken to the hospital, and several others had been taken away by the police.

It was from these passersby that she found out there had indeed been a fight here.

Unable to worry about anything else, she headed straight to the police station ahead. She needed to take a look there first—if there were no people there, she would go to the hospital next. She didn’t know whether the situation was urgent or just heated, but sweat was dripping down her face.

When she arrived at the police station, she immediately saw her husband, Luo Tianming, standing there with a troubled expression on his face.

Glancing inside, she saw five or six big boys squatting on the ground, and she spotted her eldest son, Luo Bin, among them.

She quickly asked in a hushed voice, “Tianming, what exactly happened?”

Luo Tianming looked worried, “I’m not entirely sure yet. When I got here, they had just been stopped by the police. One person has been taken to the hospital.”
