“What? Money laundering?”
After a brief conversation with Gao Caier, Xu Junzhe was stunned by the shocking news. His face went ashen.
Although he hadn’t returned to the Xu family villa, he had been closely monitoring Xu Mo’s actions. The news reached him immediately after work.
Xu Junzhe’s expression shifted dramatically.
“Indeed! Xu Mo has this information and has shown it to Xu Deming, Xie Bingyan, and the others! The Xu family is in chaos. Xu Deming has agreed to Xu Mo’s terms, allowing Xu Hongluan to join the household and transferring shares and the family trust…”
“How could he have such information? Who gave it to him?” Xu Junzhe’s hands began to tremble.
“Unknown! By the way, Xu Deming has made several calls investigating the internal issues at Fengxiang Jewelry. He’s trying to determine if you’re involved.”
Hearing this, Xu Junzhe’s face fell further.
“He also called Xu Wanting to confirm. This situation is extremely serious, and Xu Deming probably doesn’t want to face jail time!” The caller’s voice was grave.
Xu Junzhe’s anxiety deepened.
If Xu Deming didn’t want to go to jail, then who would? Xu Wanting? Or him?
…After all, Xu Junzhe was now the CEO of Fengxiang Jewelry!
“Xu Mo… Has he not targeted the Xu family?”
“No, he hasn’t targeted the Xu family yet. His current plans are still unclear. It seems he’s being very cautious about sending Xu Deming to prison. The timing of his actions is indeed crucial!”
“I… I understand now!”
Xu Junzhe realized the gravity of the situation.
Xu Mo’s choice to act at this particular moment was indeed very strategic.
While the situation seemed related to Xu Wanting and Xu Deming, with some skill, it could be made to seem unrelated to them. They had already withdrawn from managing Fengxiang Jewelry and had been separated from it.
Even if an investigation arose, Xu Deming could leverage his connections to argue that it was a case of the store manager’s private misconduct and criminal activities.
The Xu family is large, and so is the Xie family, both of which are capable of influencing the judiciary.
As long as Xu Mo doesn’t want them to go to jail, Xu Deming might win.
Xu Junzhe, on the other hand, had no such luxury.
If Xu Mo wanted him imprisoned, he could easily be sent to jail and have all the blame placed on him!
“Damn it! Damn it! When did he get the documents? How did he obtain such information? Has he been waiting to act just because I became the CEO of Fengxiang Jewelry?”
“Damn it!”
Realizing everything, Xu Junzhe felt an overwhelming sense of panic and fear.
Fortunately, he had agreed to Chen Anxiong’s terms; otherwise, his entire career might be destroyed.
With a pale face, he picked up the phone and, trembling, called Chen Anxiong. “Hello, Chen Anxiong, we need to move the plan up. I’ll give you what you want, Xu Xuehui…”
“You truly are the smartest person!”
“But I need your guarantee as well!” Xu Junzhe said through gritted teeth.
“You can rest assured. Once this is done, we’ll be like brothers, on the same team. I’ll support you no matter what!” Chen Anxiong said with a smile.
Xu Junzhe hung up the phone, his eyes flashing with deep malice.
“Caier, inform your stepfather. We need to act quickly to secure the funds!”
“I’ll push for the board reforms at Fengxiang Jewelry and clear out the management appointments. We need to transfer some of the money!”
“Caier, we might need to fly to Li Family Ridge!”
That night, Xu Junzhe decided he could no longer stay in the country and planned to leave as soon as possible.
He wasn’t sure what Xu Mo would do next and needed to wait until the situation stabilized before returning.
The troubling reality was that the issues with Fengxiang Jewelry couldn’t be resolved quickly.
This meant that if he wanted access to Fengxiang Jewelry’s funds, he would have to wait at least two to three months…
Meanwhile, the Xu family was in a state of chaos.
Xu Deming was frantically making phone calls, reaching out to former executives, and even contacting Xu Wanting to verify the situation.
Xie Bingyan watched him from the side, her eyes filled with hatred.
She had always known Xu Deming was mediocre, but she hadn’t anticipated he would be this incompetent. It seemed he had spent these years preoccupied with women!
Clenching her fists, Xie Bingyan remained silent. After a while, Xu Shuying returned.
“Dad has almost confirmed it; the situation is real. Eldest sister had some evidence before, but she didn’t get a chance to investigate Fengxiang Jewelry before the problem arose!”
“Eldest sister eventually forgot about it…”
“The amount involved is staggering and unimaginable! If it were a smaller sum, it might be manageable, but over 600 million is enough to send many people to prison! Junzhe… must know about it too!”
Xu Shuying’s expression was filled with anxiety.
“This must be fake, it’s a setup! It can’t be real!” Xie Bingyan said coldly, gritting her teeth.
Xu Shu Ying sighed. “But Xu Mo already has the evidence! He could act at any moment!”
“Damn it!” Xie Bingyan shouted in frustration.
Xu Shuying looked at her, feeling a deep fear.
It was now clear what Xu Mo intended to do. He might not want to see Xu Deming in prison, but he definitely wanted to see Xu Junzhe behind bars.
If Xu Mo moved forward with his plans, the adopted son Xie Bingyan was so proud of would definitely end up in prison.
All the talk about being the CEO of Fengxiang Jewelry and surpassing Pinduoduo was just empty words compared to the lethal weapon Xu Mo had.
Thinking about Xu Mo’s face and demeanor from earlier, Xie Bingyan felt a surge of anger.
“I will go stop Xu Mo from doing this! I will plead with him!” Xu Deming said as he came out. “If possible, I will take full responsibility!”
His tone seemed somewhat sincere.
Xie Bingyan looked at him with deep disgust, and a sharp word escaped her clenched teeth: “Xu Deming, if Junzhe gets into trouble, I’ll be the first to tear you apart!”
Xu Deming frowned. “I’ll contact people and make sure to protect Junzhe and Wanting. Don’t worry.”
Xie Bingyan said nothing and immediately went upstairs.
…
“Xu Junzhe will likely be very busy recently. We need to keep a close watch on his movements!”
“If possible, send a message to Gao Cai’er, telling her to make sure he doesn’t leave the country!”
“He hasn’t finished his business yet. Leaving the country now won’t bring him any benefits! He definitely won’t want to go.”
“Thinking about it now, things are almost settled!”
Back home, Xu Mo was in good spirits.
The issue with Xu Hongluan was resolved, and other matters could be dealt with afterward.
Although someone was targeting Pinduoduo, it was not a major problem. Pinduoduo’s momentum was still rising, just a bit slower.
Xu Mo could temporarily set that aside and focus on dealing with the Xu family!
Now, the situation was almost clear.
