From Gigolo to Crown Prince: The Secret Life of My Kept Boy Chapter 20

Chapter 20

The crowd assumed that the beautiful woman was just trying to save face and was struggling in vain. It was clear to everyone that this was the limit.

If a ball was sunk in the West Hole within the West Club’s range, it would be considered professional-level skill. A birdie, which is sinking the ball in three strokes, was already rare. An eagle, achieved by sinking the ball in two strokes, was the level of top-tier athletes. A hole-in-one… that was as difficult as winning the lottery and almost impossible.

Jiang Ciyou took her position at the tee, raised her club high, and swung with force. The ball arced high in the air and flew towards the green.

Everyone rushed to the green. Mr. Xue was the first to get there. When he looked around, he couldn’t find the ball on the green. He hesitantly checked and eventually remembered to look in the hole.

Indeed, he found Jiang Ciyou’s ball in the hole. Mr. Xue was stunned for a moment, then excitedly held up the ball, shouting, “Hole-in-one! Miss Jiang got a hole-in-one!”

Mr. Xue looked even happier than if he had made the shot himself.

Everyone was dumbfounded. This seemingly delicate Miss Jiang had achieved a hole-in-one.

A hole-in-one was a concept that even professional players might only achieve once in twenty thousand shots. It required not just absolute skill but also absolute luck.

The young men who had initially been watching with amusement were now in awe.

News of Jiang Ciyou’s hole-in-one quickly spread throughout the golf course, and more people began to arrive, drawn by the rare sight.

Many people wanted to take photos with Jiang Ciyou. According to the rules, a hole-in-one required giving a generous red envelope to the caddy and staff. Jiang Ciyou seemed prepared, pulling out many red envelopes from her sports bag and handing them out to the caddy.

People were astonished. “Miss Jiang came prepared.”

“It seems Miss Jiang’s birdie earlier was just an act to set up the real challenge.”

“Prince, you can’t lose; Miss Jiang has clearly targeted you.”

“But where did Miss Jiang train? Could she really achieve a hole-in-one purely through skill?”

If she didn’t have absolute confidence, she wouldn’t have prepared the red envelopes in advance.

Jiang Ciyou handled the surrounding comments with a smile and then turned to Bo Jinxiu. “Mr. Bo, you’ll honor our agreement, right?”

Bo Jinxiu responded coolly, “I only said we would talk if you won; I didn’t promise to give you an interview just because you won.”

Jiang Ciyou’s face froze. She seemed to see the familiar, sometimes capricious expression of Bo Jinxiu in more intimate moments, like when he would promise it was the last time, only to act otherwise when cuddling.

Thinking about this made her face flush.

The people around assumed she was embarrassed and started to chime in.

“Prince, that’s not fair. Don’t bully a young lady.”

“A bet’s a bet; it’s just an interview.”

“Yes, yes, our Prince’s stature shouldn’t be so petty.”

Bo Jinxiu looked at the crowd surrounding Jiang Ciyou, who were all behaving as if they were her knights. An inexplicable surge of anger rose from within him.

“I despise schemers,” Bo Jinxiu said coldly, warning the group of Jiang Ciyou’s friends and acquaintances, “Anyone who wants to play the role of her protector should know I won’t acknowledge such friends.”

People looked at Bo Jinxiu with a mix of surprise and fear. Despite his high status as the Prince of the capital, he was usually very amiable with his friends. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have gathered them for this major project.

Yet, he was saying such things because of a woman.

Everyone could see that Bo Jinxiu was genuinely angry, and it was all because of this woman. But why?

Regardless of the reason, no one would want to distance themselves from the Prince of the capital for a woman.

The men around Jiang Ciyou quickly distanced themselves from her.

Xia Ling watched this with a faint smile. It seemed Jiang Ciyou’s beauty had its limits.

Jiang Ciyou and Xia Ling returned to the TV station one after the other. They didn’t mention the golf course incident.

In the afternoon meeting, Director Tang was very excited. “Finally, our turn for such wealth! Xia, Jiang, which of you got the Prince’s exclusive interview?”

Both Jiang Ciyou and Xia Ling seemed slightly taken aback. The other members of the team were also very surprised.

“The Prince agreed to the interview?”

“Yes, BJ just called. The interview is scheduled for tomorrow. They want us there by nine.”

Vivian asked, “Who’s going for the interview?”

Director Tang responded, “They didn’t specify who, only that we should send someone at nine. The Prince has allocated two hours for our station.”

Director Tang was a bit confused. “Xia, Jiang, why didn’t you mention who arranged the interview when you returned?”

Jiang Ciyou frowned slightly.

In the morning, Bo Jinxiu’s attitude had clearly been a refusal. So why had he changed his mind now?

While Jiang Ciyou was still silent, Xia Ling calmly spoke up, “Director, it was me.”

Director Tang beamed with joy. “Great, great! Xia, I knew you were capable.”

“Then get ready. You’ll be interviewing the Prince tomorrow morning at nine. If you handle this well, your future is boundless.”

Director Tang excitedly picked up his phone. “I need to report this to the station director. This is a big deal. The BJ station director has tried many times to invite the Prince without success. It’s impressive that we managed to secure it. The station director will be thrilled.”

Director Tang left the room.

Everyone gathered around Xia Ling.

“Xia Ling, you’re amazing! How did you pull this off?”

“Sure enough, as a graduate from a prestigious school and having interned at BNC, your skills are on a different level from some others.”

“Xia Ling, you’re bound to get that prime-time host position.”

“Once you become the prime-time host, you have to take us out for a meal.”

Xia Ling smiled with a hint of shyness, but her demeanor was modest. “I was just lucky. Tonight, I’ll treat everyone to dinner at Taikoo House.”

Taikoo House was a high-end Japanese restaurant in Rongcheng, known for its luxury.

They worked at the TV station, but their salaries weren’t very high. So, none of them had been to such a posh place before.

Everyone cheered and praised Xia Ling’s generosity.

Xia Ling then walked over to Jiang Ciyou, who had been silent. “Ciyou, want to join us for Japanese food tonight?”

Jiang Ciyou packed up her documents and smiled at Xia Ling. “Sure, if someone’s treating, I’ll definitely go.”

That evening, the group arrived at Taikoo House. Xia Ling had already reserved a private room.

As they admired the restaurant’s luxurious decor, they continued to flatter Xia Ling.

“Xia Ling, do you come here often?”

Xia Ling modestly replied, “Not really, just occasionally.”

“This place isn’t somewhere ordinary people can afford. Xia Ling, how can you say your family background is ordinary?”

“If Xia Ling can study abroad, her family background must be good.”

“Xia Ling, be honest, which wealthy family are you actually from?”

Xia Ling responded, “I didn’t lie to you. My family’s conditions are indeed not great. My ability to study abroad is thanks to my boyfriend.”

Xia Ling glanced at Jiang Ciyou, who was sitting opposite her.

“My boyfriend’s family is well-off, and he loves me a lot. I went abroad to study with him.”
