Chapter 381: Why Don’t We Change Things Up?
It was obvious that this was Abbess Jiunan’s scheme to directly steal the umbrella sword. Once she realized this, Ye Wenxin didn’t hold back either. She shouted, “Sword Ghost, kill!”
The dozen or so burly men showed some fear, expecting a formidable enemy. But after waiting for a few seconds, there was no trace of Sword Ghost. Ye Wenxin showed a sheepish expression, suddenly remembering what she had put the Yin-Yang ghosts through today. As a result, they still hadn’t regained any energy.
Out of options, she could only grab the umbrella sword herself and strike directly at the burly men. As these men didn’t dare use the Southern Dipper Temple’s martial arts, they fled in a mess, disappearing in just a moment.
Abbess Jiunan applauded Ye Wenxin, not forgetting to compliment her, “Sister, you’re amazing—”
Before she could finish, Ye Wenxin grabbed her and quickly pulled down her bottoms, giving Abbess Jiunan’s butt a firm slap.
“Still so young, and instead of learning good things, you’re learning to be a robber!” Ye Wenxin’s actions were natural and swift, like moving clouds and flowing water.
The slap left Abbess Jiunan flabbergasted. Gu Xiangsi and Wang Cuihua were also flabbergasted, completely unable to understand why Ye Wenxin, after dealing with the masked men, had suddenly started hitting the pitiful-looking little girl in front of her.
Through the pain, Abbess Jiunan managed to regain her wits. She wanted to open her mouth and declare her identity, but suddenly remembered that she was currently playing the role of a little girl.
She could only struggle desperately. She dared not use her martial arts or reveal herself. If others found out that a fourteen-year-old girl was spanking the renowned Abbess Jiunan, how humiliating would that be?
“This is for deceiving adults!”
Of course, Ye Wenxin only dared to presumptuously discipline her because she understood that Abbess Jiunan didn’t dare to revert to her original form and declare her identity.
“Please, don’t hit me anymore! Waaah!” Abbess Jiunan was utterly helpless, but she didn’t understand why she couldn’t break free, as if something was restricting her.
However, invisible to Abbess Jiunan’s naked eye, the peach blossom chains had completely surrounded her. The once blank white paper now displayed the peach blossom chains’ likeness, as if Ye Wenxin’s actions had caused a transformation in Abbess Jiunan’s aura.
She couldn’t break free, and she even experienced a strange emotion from this beating.
“No… don’t stop.”
Ye Wenxin, startled, instinctively pulled her hand back. Abbess Jiunan suddenly realized what nonsense she had just blurted out and quickly pulled up her trousers before running away.
Gu Xiangsi and Wang Cuihua were confused, so Ye Wenxin explained to them, “Ah, that little girl was in cahoots with those guys just now. She specifically tricked us weak girls, and intended to sell us off later.”
Ye Wenxin spoke logically, but she couldn’t hide the smile on her face. Gu Xiangsi gave her a strange look and couldn’t help but ask, “But why do you look so happy, Sis?”
“Why wouldn’t I be happy? I just gave her a few hits, enforcing justice for the heavens.”
As she spoke, Ye Wenxin caught a fragrant scent wafting toward her. Suddenly, she felt a force push her forward. Ye Wenxin executed a clean flip, and then saw Abbess Jiunan, who had returned to her true form.
There was a hint of anger on Abbess Jiunan’s face, but she pretended to be concerned and said, “I heard the shouting just now and rushed over. I hope I didn’t hurt you, Benefactor Wenxin.”
Ye Wenxin grinned even more brightly, shook her head, and replied, “Of course not. But you came too late, Abbess Jiunan; you missed my marvelous performance.”
Abbess Jiunan’s expression became even more awkward, but she continued, “Oh, what marvelous performance?”
Nearby, Gu Xiangsi and Wang Cuihua were already recounting what just happened in Ye Wenxin’s place.
“That thief is truly hateful; I will make her pay compensation,” Abbess Jiunan said meaningfully. However, Ye Wenxin understood that the person she was referring to was not the dozen or so monks, but rather Ye Wenxin herself, who had spanked her.
As she thought about it, Ye Wenxin couldn’t help her growing smile. “Absolutely. I hope Abbess Jiunan will make that little girl’s butt bloom for me.”
Abbess Jiunan was somewhat angered but couldn’t reveal that she was the little girl in question. She nodded and said, “Very well, I will make sure to educate her properly.”
Although the two seemed to be discussing the same matter, they were actually at odds with each other. Meanwhile, Gu Xiangsi and Wang Cuihua, unaware of the intricacies behind this, watched as the situation came to a close and then began talking about their spoils.
Ye Wenxin walked at the furthest back. Observing Abbess Jiunan’s somewhat stiff walking posture, she couldn’t help but grin again, feeling that the abbess fully deserved it. Those who schemed against her would pay a great price.
“Master, I sense a change in your energy. I wonder if it’ll taste better if you spank a few more people.” Ghost Mother’s voice echoed in her mind. Despite sounding a bit weak, she was clearly recovering.
Ye Wenxin almost burst out laughing but maintained a serious expression and nodded. “It’s definitely worth a try. How about we change things up tonight?”
Ghost Mother suddenly fell silent, as if she had cut off the connection with Ye Wenxin.
Ye Wenxin, feeling helpless, understood that she had truly overdone it today, and the change in her Yin energy had led to greater consumption for Ghost Mother. She looked up at the dark clouds covering the moon and thought for a moment, ultimately deciding to go out tonight to hunt down some bandits to avoid Ghost Mother truly disliking her.
However, how could she have known that retribution would come so swiftly?
Abbess Jiunan maintained the habit she had picked up while in the Bright Mirror Formation. As they rested at an inn that night, she approached Ye Wenxin for a bedtime talk again. “Benefactor Wenxin, let’s chat.”
Ye Wenxin thought for a moment, and decided to recite a line of sutra to fob her off. However, Abbess Jiunan had no intention of leaving. She stood there, chanting the sutra with Ye Wenxin, as if she wanted to comprehend its profound theories together.
Ye Wenxin calmly answered her questions. Abbess Jiunan seemed quite satisfied, chatted with her until it was almost dawn before finally leaving.
It was then that Ye Wenxin realized—the Bright Mirror Formation had turned the elegant Abbess Jiunan into a chatterbox.
She didn’t know whether this was a good thing or a bad thing, but she would be happier if Abbess Jiunan hadn’t specifically come to find her…
The next day, everyone returned to the Southern Dipper Temple, only to find the area swarming with people. Today was the fifteenth, and there were many visitors coming to worship. Abbess Jiunan simply escorted them into the temple and quickly left, obviously getting busy for the day.
Ye Wenxin found it boring and prepared to go sleep in one of the rooms, but suddenly saw a young woman sitting on the ground in the distance, shouting something.
If it weren’t for the white paper aura on the woman, polluted by the peach blossom chains, Abbess Jiunan would have tricked her again. But now, seeing this aura, Ye Wenxin knew history was repeating itself. She eagerly rubbed her hands together, feeling that she could exercise again.
