Xu Junzhe certainly had other people behind him, which Xu Mo was almost sure of.
A previously unrelated force had joined the battlefield.
Yesterday, Xu Mo made two consecutive calls to Liu Kaikang, requesting a meeting, but Liu Kaikang refused and kept dodging.
Liu Kaikang was a very malicious person, and by now, he had probably gone beyond control.
It made sense when you thought about it; his background was significant, and without other forces behind him, Xu Mo might have been able to handle him, but with major capital involved, breaking free from control was almost inevitable.
This person was, after all, a tyrant.
So, for an extra layer of security, Xu Mo turned to Xie Zhen.
Although Xie Zhen was somewhat bureaucratic, it must be said that from a high-level perspective, he was relatively more humane, and dealing with him was comparatively easier.
Xu Mo’s legal team was also taking action to restrain Xu Junzhe.
If necessary, Xu Mo wanted to restrain Liu Kaikang as well, but since Liu Kaikang had a powerful background, it was more difficult and currently not essential to restrain him.
At this point, Xu Junzhe was likely starting to panic.
“I’ll give you a maximum of two months. Regardless of whether Xu Junzhe causes any issues, I need to ensure that Xie Bingyan is unharmed! After two months, handle it as you see fit!” Xie Zhen said coldly.
“And what if she goes insane? Don’t blame me!” Xu Mo said with a smirk.
“Even if she goes insane, she needs to be unharmed! She’s your biological mother!” Xie Zhen emphasized quickly, his face dark.
“Oh, come on! Have you ever seen a mother wanting to strangle her own child? Have you ever seen a mother wanting to throw her own child into prison? Old Xie I’ve been very polite already!” Xu Mo said with a cold laugh.
“I know you’re angry, but you can’t let the Xu family fall apart! That’s my bottom line!” Xie Zhen said angrily.
Xu Mo shrugged and mocked, “It’s clear that you’re a responsible uncle! Too bad you’re not on my side!”
Xie Zhen was taken aback.
“Two months should be enough for me to expose the people behind this! Just wait!” Xu Mo said as he packed up his things and prepared to leave.
“If possible, I hope you’ll forgive Xie Bingyan!” Xie Zhen added after a moment’s thought.
“Forgive her? Old Xie, it’s easy for you to say that from your position. Why should I forgive her? I believe she will definitely go insane and lose her mind this time!” Xu Mo said with a cold smile. “You’ll see once I’m done with her precious adopted son! I don’t believe she won’t go crazy!”
Xie Zhen’s face darkened upon hearing this.
“However, you should still protect Xu Deming and Xu Wanting! You wouldn’t want them to end up in trouble as well! Xu Junzhe is now the CEO! He’s the best candidate!” Xu Mo said with a hint of satisfaction.
Xie Zhen said angrily, “So according to you, the worst-case scenario is a maximum of seven to ten years!”
Xu Mo laughed, “Who knows? Who knows if he has done anything else? I can’t be certain about that!”
With that, he turned and left.
Seeing this, Xie Zhen felt a deep sense of frustration.
Xu Mo had him cornered. Money laundering was indeed difficult to handle, and Xu Mo had connections. Even if Xie Zhen didn’t help, Xu Mo could find others to assist him.
Xu Mo was threatening him: if he didn’t comply, Xu Deming and Xu Wanting would be sent to prison too. Xie Zhen could only reluctantly choose to restrict Xu Junzhe’s departure.
Xie Zhen worried about what Xu Mo might eventually do.
…
Upon discovering he was restricted from leaving the country, Xu Junzhe’s first reaction was panic, his body chilled, and his limbs felt icy.
His second reaction, of course, was to seek help.
The first person he contacted was Liu Kaikang, informing him of his inability to leave the country and asking for assistance in smoothing things over or resolving the issue.
The second person he reached out to was Chen Anxiong, hoping to use Chen Anxiong’s connections to solve the problem. However, their cooperation hadn’t started yet, and Chen Anxiong insisted that he would only begin after dealing with Xu Xuehui first.
Xu Junzhe gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with malice.
The third step was to return to the Xu family and seek help from Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming.
In fact, seeking help from Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming might not be very effective, as Xu Mo could very well target them as well. Xu Deming was already implicated.
However, Xu Junzhe still hoped to use the connections of the Xie family or the Xu family to resolve his travel restrictions, hoping to contact Xie Zhen or Xie Yun.
When he returned home, he quickly noticed an unusual atmosphere in the Xu household. It seemed that Xu Deming and Xie Bingyan had another confrontation. Xu Deming was covered in bandages and had a head injury from being hit.
Xu Xuehui and Xu Shuying looked dejected, and the atmosphere in the living room was filled with tension.
But Xu Junzhe couldn’t care less about that at the moment. Seeing that Xu Deming was unharmed, he rushed upstairs to find Xie Bingyan.
“Mom! There’s a big problem! Xu Mo has reported the money laundering to the police! Now, Dad, Eldest Sister, and I have all been restricted from leaving the country!”
“The police are investigating us!”
“Mom, please help me! Contact Eldest Uncle or Second Uncle quickly…”
The room was in disarray, with furniture and books scattered around, and shards of broken glass and bloodstains everywhere.
Xu Junzhe looked around, secretly astonished at what could have happened to cause such a commotion between them!
However, over the years, he had grown accustomed to the frequent arguments between Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming.
Upon hearing Xu Junzhe’s cries, Xie Bingyan, who had been in a daze, slightly raised her head to look at him.
“Mom, Xu Mo has reported the money laundering issue! He has already provided some evidence to the police! Mom, please help me!”
Xie Bingyan appeared dazed and made no move. She still had some blood on her hands.
“Mom, what’s wrong? Why is there still blood?” Xu Junzhe asked anxiously, grabbing the nearby medical kit to tend to her wounds.
“What happened to you and Dad? Did something happen to Dad again?”
“No, no problem!” Xie Bingyan said, her lips pale and her voice hoarse.
“Then, Mom, please contact Second Uncle quickly. I’ve been restricted from leaving the country, and Dad and Eldest Sister might also be under police investigation! Xu Mo wants to imprison all of us!” Xu Junzhe hurriedly continued.
“He… took action?” Xie Bingyan was still in a daze, her expression vacant.
“Yes! Mom, this situation is too serious! I didn’t expect it to come to this! I just became the CEO, and I was completely unaware!” Xu Junzhe said, crying and feeling aggrieved. “Mom, you must resolve this. Please try to persuade Xu Mo! Otherwise, we will all end up in prison!”
“I… I understand!” Hearing this, Xie Bingyan seemed to finally regain some focus.
She struggled to get up from the floor but wobbled unsteadily, nearly falling.
Xu Junzhe quickly supported her, “Mom, what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing! Just a bit dizzy! Junzhe, you should go out now. I’ll contact people to resolve this issue!” Xie Bingyan’s face regained some color.
“Mom, you need to hurry! Otherwise, the police will soon catch onto us, and then Eldest Sister and I won’t be able to get out of this mess!”
“I understand!” Xie Bingyan’s gaze gradually became determined.
She had spent the entire night trying to figure out who could have poisoned Xu Mo, but she hadn’t come to a conclusion.
However, she needed to set that aside for now. The money laundering issue was the most pressing and needed immediate attention!
She found her phone in the room and shakily called Xie Zhen and Xie Yun.
