Chapter 25: The Tribe’s Benefactor
In the pitch-black night, torches were lit, finally allowing Fei Li to see everything around him.
At this moment, the male who had come to rescue Fei Li stood beside him, looking warily at the orcs.
Fei Li gratefully looked at the male. “Thank you for earlier. By the way, what’s your name?”
“Master, my name is So Ma.”
The sight of the two whispering closely to each other fell into Luo Sang’s eyes. He pulled Fei Li to his side, looking as if he wouldn’t allow anyone else to come close.
The ultimate boyfriend power move!
Supported by Bafu, Wude used his keen hearing to sense the positions of the tribe’s residents.
“You all heard what Lord Luo Sang said, right? It’s a fact that Fei Li injured me. The tribe’s rules cannot change just because he is Lord Luo Sang’s partner.”
“Fei Li could harm me today, he could harm you tomorrow. A lowly, powerless human having such audacity—if we don’t kill him early, how will we orcs survive in the tribe? If every human learns from Fei Li, wouldn’t our tribe fall into chaos?”
Wude’s words were heard clearly in the quiet night.
The tribe members exchanged glances and then looked uniformly at Fei Li.
Yin Lang interjected with a laugh, “I think Wude makes a lot of sense. Just a human daring to oppose an orc. He simply doesn’t take us orcs seriously.”
In the primitive tribe, the orcs didn’t care much about face. In a world where the strong prey on the weak, whoever could ensure survival and provide food was considered a benefactor.
And Fei Li, standing before them, had saved the tribe multiple times.
He had taught them how to make water jars, stone pots, and stone bowls, as well as how to cook mushroom soup and roast meat.
In addition, Fei Li claimed to be a witch doctor, making everyone hesitate.
Seeing the silence, Wude impatiently pushed Bafu aside and angrily stood before the crowd. “Is it because of Lord Luo Sang that you all don’t dare to speak? Are you all mute?”
Initially, Wude thought everyone would side with him, but after waiting for a long time without any response, he began to panic.
At this moment, an orc named Mu Dong stepped forward from the back of the crowd. He respectfully glanced at Luo Sang and Fei Li before turning to Wude.
“Fei Li is our savior. Not only that, but he also drove away the Lion Tribe for us. We cannot kill him.”
Following Mu Dong’s lead, the humans in the tribe began to voice their agreement, and even the orcs supported Mu Dong’s words.
The situation before him was completely unexpected for Wude. He staggered back a step and fell awkwardly to the ground.
Luo Sang stepped forward, and the crowd fell silent. “Wude, you heard what everyone said, right? If you dare to provoke Fei Li again, don’t blame me for turning against you.”
Wude lowered his head in frustration and remained silent.
Luo Sang turned to Fei Li, “Let’s go home.”
The words “go home” hit Fei Li like a heavy hammer on his heart.
Since his parents passed away, he had considered school as his home, studying hard and forgetting what a real home felt like.
He never expected that coming here, an orc would treat him like family and always protect him.
Saying he wasn’t moved would be a lie.
As the two of them left, So Ma quickly followed.
When they reached the outside of Luo Sang’s house, Luo Sang turned and coldly looked at So Ma. “Thanks for saving Fei Li earlier, but I still don’t like you. You can leave now.”
Luo Sang looked at So Ma with the eyes of a rival.
So Ma snorted, ignoring Luo Sang. He took out a small whistle and handed it to Fei Li. “Master, this is a special whistle from our tribe. As long as you blow it, no matter how far away, I will find you.”
“Really?” Fei Li’s eyes lit up.
Such a magical item, of course he wanted to accept it.
Just as he reached out, Luo Sang’s icy gaze made him withdraw his hand.
Staring at the magical whistle, he could only chuckle awkwardly, “No need. Such a precious thing, you should keep it.”
“You are my master now. With this whistle, I can protect you anytime.”
Luo Sang pulled Fei Li behind him, his face stern. “I protect my own people. I don’t need you to interfere.”
After saying that, Luo Sang took Fei Li into the house.
—
Bafu helped Wude back home. Before he could say anything, Wude kicked him to the ground.
“Useless! What’s the point of keeping you around? I’ll just kill you today.”
Terrified, Bafu backed into a corner. As Wude’s partner, even if Wude killed him, no one would say anything.
Seeing Wude’s fierce approach, Bafu was too scared to make a sound.
Footsteps echoed at the door, making Wude turn warily. “Who’s there?”
“Can’t handle Fei Li and Luo Sang, so you’re taking it out on your partner? Is that all you’re good for, Wude?” Yin Lang’s mocking voice rang out, causing Wude to frown in displeasure.
Helping the trembling Bafu to his feet, Yin Lang whispered, “You should leave. I need to have a word with him.”
“What gives you the right to lecture me? Everyone knows you’re unhappy under Luo Sang’s command but don’t have the guts to challenge him. What makes you think you can mock me?” Wude sneered.
Yin Lang remained calm, moving closer to Wude.
“Since we share a common enemy, why not form an alliance? What do you think?”
Wude’s silence indicated his agreement with Yin Lang’s proposal.

Seeing the pitiful Bafu, he smiled and said, “Don’t worry, he won’t harm you now.”
Looking at Yin Lang’s walking away figure, Bafu felt cared for the first time.
—
Early the next morning, Fei Li saw a full water jar and was in high spirits.
After being here for so long, he could finally wash his face properly.
When Luo Sang woke up, he saw Fei Li holding a stone bowl, drinking the water and then spitting it out. He walked toward him, curiously.
“What are you doing?”
Fei Li startled at the sudden voice behind him.
After glancing at Luo Sang, he finished rinsing his mouth before responding.
“This is called rinsing. You do it in the morning to keep your mouth clean.”
Luo Sang was used to Fei Li’s “strange words” by now and was too lazy to bother asking further.
Remembering the mushrooms Luo Sang had brought back, Fei Li quickly made some mushroom soup with meat.
After a simple breakfast, he planned to go out.
As soon as he reached the door, Luo Sang stopped him. “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to check how everyone’s doing with making the stone pots and bowls.”
After saying that, he walked out of the house again.
Looking at his back, Luo Sang hesitated for a moment but then said, “Come back early.”
Fei Li paused, feeling a strange emotion growing up inside.
Was Luo Sang… worried about him?
Turning back to look at Luo Sang, he smiled. “Are you concerned about me?”
“I’m just worried you’ll die too soon, and there’ll be no one left to cook for me.”
“…” Fei Li was speechless.
‘Would it kill you to admit you care about me?’
