Would You Confess Your Love To A Mafia Heiress? Chapter 45

Chapter 45: A Sniper?

With the sudden appearance of the long-forgotten system mission, Su Jiang’s mouth twitched. “You choose this time to show up and cause chaos.”

However, this didn’t disrupt Su Jiang’s plan. After dodging Wu Chengren’s strike, Su Jiang quickly rolled forward a few times, creating distance between them.

“Hey, finally decided to make a move? Running around all this time made my legs sore,” Su Jiang remarked, getting up and brushing off the dirt from his clothes, then looking playfully at Wu Chengren.

As Wu Chengren’s carefully planned strike missed its mark, half of his confidence vanished. Seeing the triumphant smile on Su Jiang’s face, he felt even more uneasy.

He suddenly remembered that Lin Hui once warned him to be cautious of Su Jiang!

It dawned on him, why did Lin Hui warn him about Su Jiang out of the blue?

“Did you know I was following you all along?” Wu Chengren’s face turned grim. At this point, there was no turning back.

Even if he realized it was a trap, he had to go through with it, as he must eliminate Su Jiang.

“No, your tracking skills are top-notch. I didn’t notice your presence all this way,” Su Jiang responded.

Throughout the journey, Su Jiang had been attentive to what was behind him, yet he was surprised by the lack of any discovery, leading him to briefly question if Wu Chengren had not followed him after all.

“However, I am certain that you will try to kill me today at all costs because your secret must not be exposed, right? So, whether you actually followed me or not is irrelevant. Just knowing that was enough to lure you here,” Su Jiang remarked.

Upon hearing this, Wu Chengren sighed softly. He realized that he wasn’t cut out for playing mind games. Nevertheless, he couldn’t fathom why Su Jiang had the audacity to lure him here alone.

Next, he saw Su Jiang slowly draw a delicate small knife from his waist. The blade shimmered with a cold light under the faint moonlight. Wu Chengren could tell at a glance that it was one of those cheap knives sold at the supermarkets.

Since a long time ago, Su Jiang had been carrying this small knife with him as a precaution against unforeseen circumstances.

“Are you planning to use that toy-like knife against me?” Wu Chengren felt a mix of amusement and anger, feeling slighted. He continued, “I’m not trash like Scar, and I won’t underestimate you again.”

Su Jiang remained silent, the playful expression gone from his face, replaced by an unprecedented seriousness. He knew that Wu Chengren’s skills were not to be underestimated, especially triggering the system mission.

However, the biggest difference between him and Wu Chengren was that he had a trump card, room for error, while Wu Chengren did not.

In the darkness of the night, Su Jiang leaped forward, wielding the small knife with agility, charging towards Wu Chengren. The small knife in his hand seemed to come alive under his control, sometimes speeding like lightning, sometimes meandering like a gentle stream.

“A master!” Wu Chengren was slightly surprised, continuously evading Su Jiang’s attacks and swiftly counterattacking.

The clash of the dagger and the small knife produced crisp metallic sounds. While Wu Chengren’s dagger was fierce, under Su Jiang’s seemingly casual movements, it was repeatedly deflected.

Wu Chengren was starting to sweat. He couldn’t understand where Su Jiang had acquired such skills and why he seemed unaffected by the darkness, each strike precise and aimed at vital points.

As time passed, Wu Chengren’s brows furrowed tighter. He realized he couldn’t fully grasp Su Jiang’s rhythm, as every attempt to counterattack was deftly avoided by Su Jiang.

More importantly, would Su Jiang not get tired?

In such a high-intensity battle, even with exceptional stamina, there would typically be a period of fatigue. Yet, Su Jiang showed no signs of fatigue or even a drop of sweat, continuously launching relentless attacks and denying Wu Chengren any chance to catch his breath.

“How is this possible?!” Wu Chengren couldn’t believe it. He was being suppressed by Su Jiang. Was this how a university student should fight?

Little did he know that Su Jiang was also gritting his teeth to endure. Despite having an extraordinary physique that allowed him to engage in prolonged combat, his vision was clearer than Wu Chengren’s.

However, this was Su Jiang’s first real battle, lacking some experience. Several times, he narrowly avoided Wu Chengren’s fatal strikes.

Finally, he found a slight opening in Wu Chengren’s defense and decisively wielded the knife, aiming for his arm.

“Ah!”

Feeling the pain in his arm, Wu Chengren let out a soft grunt. He was about to retaliate when he noticed Su Jiang had already distanced himself, standing nearby panting heavily.

“System, please make a judgment now. I’ve won, right?” Su Jiang, nearing his limits, didn’t want to continue the fight. He could win, but it would come at a cost, and he didn’t want to get injured.

After a moment, the system notification finally sounded.

[Ding! System judgment completed. Congratulations, host, on defeating the opponent and completing the mission. You’ve received a random reward!]

[Random reward being drawn…]

[Congratulations, host, on obtaining the intermediate skill – Psychological Analysis!]

Instantly, a wealth of knowledge flooded his mind, but Su Jiang didn’t bother to delve into it.

With a wave of his hand, he casually tossed the knife aside and then raised one hand, extending three fingers.

Seeing this, Wu Chengren assumed Su Jiang was exhausted to the limit and giving up the struggle.

Not caring about the hand gesture, Wu Chengren decisively pulled out a gun, disengaged the safety, and aimed the gun at Su Jiang, a cruel smile on his face.

The confrontation with cold weapons had ended, and now it was time for firearms.

Ignoring the pain in his arm, Wu Chengren slowly approached Su Jiang, pointing the gun at him.

He had many questions he wanted to ask Su Jiang, especially about the An family. He believed he could extract valuable information from Su Jiang.

However, Wu Chengren noticed that Su Jiang’s eyes showed no fear but rather amusement as three fingers dropped one by one.

“I once told Lin Hui that I hate being pointed at with a gun,” Su Jiang stated.

With a cold gaze, Wu Chengren seemed unaffected by Su Jiang’s words. At that moment, Su Jiang’s fate was entirely in Wu Chengren’s hands. With a simple pull of the trigger, he could end Su Jiang’s life.

Just then, as Su Jiang’s last finger fell, a loud gunshot rang out. Wu Chengren’s hand holding the gun was instantly pierced by the bullet, the gun dropping to the ground, blood splattering around.

Wu Chengren, clutching his pierced palm, looked around in astonishment and turned to Su Jiang, shaking with anger:

“You arranged a sniper?!”

“Why not?” Su Jiang chuckled. “Do you think I’ve lost my mind to lure you here alone for a one-on-one showdown?”

If it weren’t for the damn system mission, would I even bother fighting you to the death?

I’d just take you out with a single shot.

Wu Chengren gritted his teeth, realizing he had no chance at all.

With Su Jiang’s skills, he wouldn’t let himself be taken hostage. Plus, based on that shot just now, Wu Chengren was certain the hidden sniper was a master.

With Su Jiang in the open and a sniper in the shadows, he had no room for resistance.

Frustrated, Wu Chengren glared at Su Jiang, a million curses running through his mind. You started a cold weapon fight, so why the hell did you have a sniper? And when the hell did you arrange for a sniper?
