Xu Mo met with Gao Cai’er once, as she had requested the meeting.
Gao Cai’er played a very crucial role in this situation. Xu Junzhe trusted her, and she was the key to prompting Xu Junzhe to take action in the past.
Now, Xu Mo was also prepared to lay his cards on the table with Gao Cai’er.
From the very beginning, Gao Cai’er’s goal was clear: she wanted money.
Now, the money was tied up, and she was anxious to resolve the issue as soon as possible. She knew very well that only Xu Mo could solve it.
So, after meeting her, things became much simpler.
“If it’s a money problem, it can be resolved. I can give you the portion you invested in Fengxiang Jewelry. I don’t care about what happens to Fengxiang Jewelry.”
“And I don’t care about Xu Junzhe’s outcome either. What we’re doing now is just trying to end this.”
Gao Cai’er frowned. “Xu Junzhe can’t get out of this now!”
“I have enough evidence. He might indeed need to spend a few years, maybe even over ten years, in prison,” Xu Mo shrugged.
“Then what about me…” Gao Cai’er was stunned.
“You need to follow my instructions. Let Xu Junzhe continue on his path as he planned. I don’t want anyone else involved. The situation now is that he must take action himself.”
“That’s it?”
“That’s right! If he does it, I’ll give you the part you’re entitled to, and I might even give you an additional part, far beyond your expectations!”
Although Gao Cai’er wanted money, she wasn’t foolish. Trying to deceive her was out of the question; solid benefits were necessary.
She clearly understood the difference between fantasy and reality, knowing from the beginning exactly what she wanted. Xu Mo admired her for this clear attitude. However, her methods were somewhat lacking in sophistication.
Of course, her abilities were limited. She relied on her beauty to obtain the money she desired. Gao Cai’er was very aware of her strengths and knew how to leverage them skillfully.
“I’ll do my best to get him to act. In fact, finding someone else for this would probably be difficult. Xu Junzhe likely already has his own plan!”
“That’s good!”
Xu Mo didn’t say much more. Since Gao Cai’er agreed, the subsequent procedures would likely be straightforward. Xu Mo was tired of seeing the faces of the Xu family and decided it was best to let Xu Junzhe handle the dirty work.
After a brief farewell, Xu Mo returned to his company.
As he looked at the busy streets full of cars, he stood up and gazed into the distance.
He knew that once everything was set in motion, someone would die. And the one who would die was unlikely to be Xu Junzhe.
Thinking carefully, she had already reached the point where she deserved to die.
To kill someone, you must destroy their spirit first.
“Xu Mo, are you alright?”
“I’m fine!” Xu Mo turned around and saw Li Banzhuang’s delicate face. “Once this is all over, everything will finally come to an end. We can move forward without any more burdens. These past few years… they’ve felt so long.”
Li Banzhuang walked over and held his hand, asking, “Does she… really have to die?”
“She does! If we want everything to end, it must conclude with her death. I only hope that she dies in as much pain as possible,” Xu Mo replied coldly.
“Oh…”
Hearing this, Li Banzhuang felt a pang of sadness but didn’t try to dissuade Xu Mo. After all, he had endured so much for so long; he needed to release his pent-up emotions. Li Banzhuang also thought that it would be better if Xie Bingyan died sooner rather than later. Her life had already lost its meaning, and even her own son wanted to strangle her to death. She was so malicious that her death would be a relief, bringing her peace in the afterlife.
Once she was dead, Xu Mo would regain his sanity and focus entirely on his work, no longer concerned with the Xu family’s affairs.
“Then… let him do it,” Li Banzhuang and Gu Wanxi both agreed without trying to persuade Xu Mo otherwise.
…
“Let’s consider this scenario! If Xu Mo knew that it was Xu Junzhe who poisoned him, trying to kill him, what would Xu Mo want most?”
On the other side, Xu Xuehui was still secretly analyzing the situation with Xu Wanting, speaking in a hushed tone.
“Xu Mo knew someone had poisoned him a long, long time ago. That’s why he left the family! Neither you nor I knew, and Mom didn’t know either!”
“All these years, Xu Mo never brought it up, but he surely knew who was responsible for the poisoning. After discovering it was Xu Junzhe, his primary goal didn’t seem to be killing Xu Junzhe!”
“Over the years, Xu Junzhe has thrived, even taking control of Fengxiang Jewelry! Xu Mo only decided to act after Xu Junzhe had full control of Fengxiang Jewelry.”
“The money laundering issue clearly shows Xu Mo is pushing Junzhe to make a choice. He might have anticipated that Junzhe would go mad… and the next step…”
Xu Wanting, who was a top student and a former CEO, was stunned as she connected the dots.
“He wants Xu Junzhe to kill all of us! No, no, perhaps his real target is… Mom, or even Dad!”
“Maybe that was his plan from the start!”
Xu Xuehui also reached a conclusion.
“He… could it be that he’s trying to make Junzhe betray us, or even betray Mom and Dad…”
“If Junzhe was responsible for what happened to me, then he’s already lost all sense of morality. I have no doubt that he would harm our parents! He might have already started in the past few days!”
“So what do we do? Should we have someone arrest Junzhe first?”
“I don’t have any evidence—this is just speculation! We need to observe first! But no matter what, we need to increase security around Mom and Dad.”
…
On the other side, Xie Bingyan hadn’t found any specific documents at the Xu family villa. She didn’t want to leave the Xiahai City villa either and chose to stay in the empty house, motionless.
As time passed, her hair turned whiter, the wrinkles deepened, and she grew increasingly old and haggard.
A servant noticed Xie Bingyan had returned and tried to engage her in conversation, but Xie Bingyan only muttered to herself, “Who? Who could it be?”
Soon, her phone rang.
“Mom, I’m really worried about you, so I flew back to see you!”
“I bought two train tickets. Let’s go out and take a break!”
“Things at home are too chaotic right now, and I’m really concerned!”
It was Xu Junzhe on the phone, saying he was flying back. Upon hearing his voice, Xie Bingyan froze for a moment, her body trembling.
She didn’t respond, and before long, Xu Junzhe arrived at the Xiahai City villa. He brought a large number of gifts and quickly approached Xie Bingyan.
For some reason, Xie Bingyan suddenly found it hard to see his true face clearly.
“Mom, don’t stay at home alone! I’m really worried about you. The weather’s nice these days; let’s go out for a walk!”
“Why were you and Dad arguing? A few days ago, something happened to Second Sister as well. The police are saying it was Brother Xu Mo who did it! They claim he kidnapped her…”
“I don’t believe Brother Xu Mo would do such a thing, so I asked Fifth Sister to investigate! Mom, I just want to take care of you for now.”
His words, full of concern, sparked a faint warmth and comfort in Xie Bingyan’s heart.
Xu Junzhe had always been so obedient, always so caring.
“The car’s here, Mom. Let’s go for a walk.”
Xie Bingyan looked at him for a moment, thought it over, and then nodded.
