It was January, the coldest time of the year. Even though there was heating in the hotel, Lu Ning’s lips were turning purple, and he was shivering uncontrollably, giving off a rather pitiful appearance. He hurriedly changed into the clothes that had been prepared beside him and dried his damp hair.
Lu Ning still had a vague recollection of what had just happened and belatedly realized how his body had reacted. As the hairdryer buzzed, his ears gradually turned a deep shade of red, and his cheeks were flushed as if he were drunk.
With these thoughts in mind, he hadn’t even finished drying his hair before he turned off the hairdryer and rushed to the living room. He didn’t dare to look at Fu Yunshen, keeping his head down as he endured the overwhelming sense of shame and said, “I’m sorry, sir. Did I… Did I enter the wrong room? Just now… I’ll leave right away!”
A little white rabbit is indeed a little white rabbit; he really looked like a frightened one. Fu Yunshen set down the document he was holding and said with a half-smile, “No, you didn’t enter the wrong room. Your manager brought you here.”
Lu Ning’s face instantly turned pale as he anxiously said, “I’m so sorry, sir! I didn’t mean to… I had already refused! I don’t know how this happened! I’ll leave right away!”
Fu Yunshen smiled leisurely, “You were brought here to do your homework.”
“What?” Lu Ning, on the verge of tears, was suddenly left speechless.
Even if Lu Ning was a bit slow, he could tell that the gentleman before him had an extraordinary appearance and demeanor, and his identity was clearly not simple. There was no way he would come late at night just to supervise someone doing homework. Was “doing homework” some kind of new code that he wasn’t aware of?
“Look.” Fu Yunshen calmly picked up one of the books from a stack of “Five Three” guides beside him and flipped through it. “Which one do you want to work on?”
System: 【Fifth Master, you really come up with the best ideas.】
Fu Yunshen pretended to lament, “For a child who has to earn a living at such a young age, his dream must be to sit quietly in the classroom and write Fifty-Three.”
Lu Ning stared at the stack of Fifty-Three, feeling stunned. Was he really supposed to do homework?
Well, if it’s just homework, then so be it. As long as it’s not something else. But Lu Ning was a straightforward child and said, “I’m sorry, sir, I’ve already done Fifty-Three. Is there anything else I can do?”
Fu Yunshen: “…”
System: 【Fifth Master, look at this. His dream isn’t about writing Fifty-Three; he has already surpassed his dream.】
Fu Yunshen said, “Perfect timing, I thought my assistant bought too many.”
He had pursued the route of applying for studying abroad and wasn’t very familiar with the domestic college entrance examination system.
He casually made a phone call to his assistant, saying, “No need to move out, just bring everything in.”
After a while, the door to the suite opened, and the assistant led a few people in, carrying several large boxes of materials.
The assistant nodded, saying, “Sorry, sir, I didn’t know what kind of information you needed for the third year of high school.”
Fu Yunshen randomly picked up a few books, “Tianli 45 sets? King of Queens? Intensive Practice? You can choose, hmm?”
Lu Ning stared blankly at Fu Yunshen. Even though he had already completed Fifty-Three, as a high school senior, seeing this pile of materials made him feel like the world had turned dark.
【Oh my… my Lord Fu, you finally show the courage of a wealthy mature man in this matter!】
【Now you should raise the chin of the little white rabbit, give a cold smile, and say to him, “This is what you asked for.”】
Fu Yunshen glanced at the upcoming intense plot, his mouth twitched, ignoring the system. In a normal tone, he asked Lu Ning, “Are you satisfied with what you see?”
Upon hearing this, the system burst into laughter: 【Hahaha!】
【Quick, Host! Make him sit on King of Queens and cry!】
Fu Yunshen was puzzled by the system’s sudden burst of laughter. He didn’t see anything wrong with his previous words and said, 【Shouldn’t you check for malfunctions?】
【What did King of Queens do wrong?】
“Thank you, sir,” Lu Ning tried to make himself look pleasantly surprised. He reluctantly moved his feet, picked a book, Intensive Practice, from the pile, and pulled out a neutral pen from a box. “So… I’ll go do my homework now?”
Fu Yunshen coldly replied, “Write it in the meeting room of the suite. I need to rest.”
The system finally stopped its laughter and said, “Excuse me, Host…”
Fu Yunshen calmly interrupted the system, “Let the child pursue his dreams. We old men should rest properly, right?”
【Staying up late will turn into a true wealthy mature man—Mediterranean, beer belly.】
Fu Yunshen glanced at Intensive Practice, feeling it was smaller compared to Fifty-Three, and added, “Looks like there’s a whole box of these. After you finish, there’s more. Help yourself.”
Lu Ning forced a professional smile and nodded.
Why did he even mention that he had finished Fifty-Three?
Late at night, Lu Ning sat under the lamp, diligently working on Intensive Practice, feeling pitiful. He finally finished one book, oh, there were still more in the box.
The eternal love has its time, but Intensive Practice has no end.
In tears, writing homework, enduring through the night until dawn breaks.
Lu Ning stayed up all night, and at half past six in the morning, exhausted, he finally saw Fu Yunshen wake up with longing eyes.
Fu Yunshen looked at Lu Ning with big dark circles under his eyes and fell silent. Did this silly child really stay up all night to do his homework? Wasn’t this too proactive in pursuing his dreams?
System: 【…Plot twist value at 16%.】
“Sir,” Lu Ning held a thick stack of Intensive Practice, “This is the homework I wrote. Would you like to check it?”
Fu Yunshen took out his checkbook, wrote a check for a hundred thousand, handed it to Lu Ning, and patted his head, saying, “Child, this is your reward.”
Puzzled by the unexpected ten thousand, Lu Ning stood there dumbfounded. Getting paid for doing homework?
The system made more of its strange remarks: 【Fifth Master!!! How could you only give ten thousand! Isn’t that far from your status as a wealthy mature man? Shouldn’t it be at least a million?】
【Your inflation rate is too serious. Do you think a million is monopoly money from the Bank of Heaven and Earth?】
【This is a reward from an elder to a diligent junior.】
Lu Ning held the check, feeling bewildered.
Considering the child’s self-esteem, Fu Yunshen said, “I’m not insulting you by giving you money. This is what a good student who works hard on homework deserves.”
【No, Fifth Master, as a wealthy mature man, you’re supposed to use money to insult him!】
Lu Ning’s eyes teared up suddenly. He had always studied diligently from a young age, but his parents had never praised him or rewarded him.
Sniffling, he said, “Thank you, sir. I haven’t asked for your name.”
Fu Yunshen had no intention of getting any closer to Lu Ning; he simply wanted to ensure that Lu Ning wouldn’t end up carrying his child. So he just replied, “My surname is Fu.”
Full of admiration, Lu Ning kept expressing his gratitude, “Mr. Fu, thank you so much. I’m sorry for disturbing you last night…”
Fu Yunshen interrupted, “Enough. What are you going to do about your agent?”
After thinking for a moment, Fu Yunshen realized that if Lu Ning didn’t get rid of this agent who drugged him, there might be a risk of similar incidents occurring in the future.
Naively, Lu Ning asked, “Zhang Ge? Wasn’t it Zhang Ge who sent me here to do homework?”
But Lu Ning also found the situation strange. Writing homework all night in a presidential suite with a gentlemanly figure like Mr. Fu – it didn’t seem like he and Zhang Rui were in the same league.
Upon hearing this, Fu Yunshen almost wanted to take back his reward. He smiled, “Do you think so?”
【Don’t they have any basic knowledge of personal hygiene, considering the drugging incident?】
【This is a necessary plot setting. Don’t wealthy mature men like this kind of innocence and purity in a young person?】
【What did the wealthy mature man do wrong?】 This misunderstanding is deeper than the Mariana Trench.
Lu Ning wasn’t lacking in intelligence; he just thought he was drunk last night. With Fu Yunshen’s implication, he finally realized the truth. His face paled again – so he had really walked into the wrong room last night?
Who was Zhang Ge planning to place him with? With Mr. Fu’s appearance and demeanor, standing at the entrance of a gay bar, anyone he wanted to sleep with would probably encircle the entire bar just with his looks. Why would he resort to such tactics?
“I… Should I terminate the contract?”
Although Lu Ning had earned more money in the two years since his debut than he had ever seen, Zhang Ge always wanted him to take “shortcuts.” He had refused many times, but this time seemed different…
【Fifth Master! It’s time for you to expose the truth! Let the naive little white rabbit’s company go bankrupt! Make his agent pay the price!】
In the original plot, Lu Ning did terminate the contract with the company forcefully. However, due to highlighting Lu Ning’s innocence, he lacked evidence of his agent drugging him. Additionally, with the confusion of the pregnancy, he didn’t have the energy to fight a legal battle, ultimately owing the company a hefty breach-of-contract fee. Eventually, after facing numerous setbacks and grievances, Lu Ning met Fu Yunshen again, who helped him reclaim his dignity and began showering him with affection.
After reviewing the plot, Fu Yunshen remarked, “At such a grown age, shouldn’t he handle his own affairs?”
Fu Yunshen handed Lu Ning a business card, saying, “This is my card. You can find the hotel manager, ask for surveillance footage to gather evidence, then find a good lawyer. Resolving the contract issue shouldn’t be difficult.”
Lu Ning’s eyes lit up with gratitude as he said, “Thank you, Mr. Fu!”
System: 【Plot twist value at 18%.】
【It seems that people cannot rely on others.】
Fu Yunshen realized that Lu Ning needed to become independent to prevent the scenario where Fu Yunshen would help him out later.
Fu Yunshen glanced at his watch and said, “I have to go now, you handle things yourself.” He then called his assistant to help pack up his things and left with his entourage.
After Fu Yunshen left, Lu Ning walked out, but to his surprise, his agent Zhang Rui appeared in front of him, resembling a eunuch guarding the door for a concubine.
Zhang Rui, smugly, said, “Lu Ning, you should be thanking me, right? I helped you climb up to the high branch of Fifth Master Fu.”
Lu Ning frowned, “What do you mean?”
Grinning, Zhang Rui teased, “Wasn’t Fifth Master Fu keeping you in the room last night to do your homework?” He emphasized the words “do your homework.”
“What’s wrong with doing homework?”
Lu Ning walked straight towards the elevator, determined to find evidence to terminate the contract.
“What? Are you going to act clueless with me?” Zhang Rui shook his head and tutted, “You’re so stubborn with others, but you agreed to Fifth Master Fu. What’s with the holier-than-thou act?”
As the elevator descended, Lu Ning had made up his mind to terminate the contract. There was no need to explain further. He innocently said, “I was just doing homework.”
Chuckling, Zhang Rui responded, “Doing homework, right, doing homework.”
When the elevator reached the hotel lobby, Lu Ning found the reception desk, handed over his business card, and said, “Mr. Fu asked me to find the manager.”
The receptionist glanced at Lu Ning and then called the manager to explain the situation.
While waiting, the receptionist seemed unable to control her expression. She covered her mouth with her hand and whispered to the colleague next to her, “Isn’t he the one who was doing homework in Mr. Fu’s room last night? He’s so good-looking! So cute! I want to…!”
“Isn’t he a celebrity? Didn’t he act in that idol drama? What was it called… ‘Summer Paradise’?”
“Mr. Fu is really interesting. I’ve never seen anyone bring so much exam prep material to a hotel before.”
Lu Ning blushed slightly, not knowing where to put his hands.
The hotel manager quickly arrived. He enthusiastically shook Lu Ning’s hand and said, “Are you the one who was doing homework in Mr. Fu’s room last night?”
Lu Ning was stunned. How does the whole world know that I was doing homework in Mr. Fu’s room?
….
Fu Yunshen was sitting in the van on his way to the airport when his assistant suddenly tried to suppress a laugh and said, “Sir, this trending topic seems to be related to you. Should we have it taken down?”
Fu Yunshen took the tablet and glanced at it. The trending topic was titled “#Lu Ning’s Late-Night Meeting with a Wealthy Patron at a Hotel#.”
Could this “wealthy patron” be referring to him? Fu Yunshen continued reading.
The post claimed that Lu Ning was doing homework in the patron’s presidential suite and that the patron had spent a fortune buying several boxes of exam prep materials for Lu Ning. The accompanying images showed the assistant and a team moving the boxes of study materials into the hotel.
Fu Yunshen was sipping coffee and nearly spat it out. Which genius came up with this trending topic?
He placed the coffee on the small table beside him and opened the comments:
【Is this wealthy patron a devil?!】
【Sorry, I can’t help but laugh! Poor Lu Ning, this is hilarious!】
【I shivered just looking at those boxes of materials. What kind of twisted mind came up with this torture for Lu Ning?】
【I can’t take it anymore, laughing so hard early in the morning that my stomach hurts. Is this competing for the funniest tweet of the year?】
【Who the hell makes someone do homework in a presidential suite? What kind of weird fetish does this patron have? Hahaha】
【Is this really about doing homework, or is it a censored version of “doing homework”? Is this like a euphemism for something else?】
