Chapter 123 : Feeding Rations
Snow fell softly, quickly covering the mountains and village in a layer of white.
As Yan walked in through the door, he first removed his coat, shook off the accumulated snow, and waited until he warmed up a bit before lifting the curtain and entering the inner room.
After the New Year, the weather had only grown colder. The two little treasures at home were feeling the chill, so thick curtains had been added between the door and the beds, somewhat like northern wind-blocking curtains, but not exactly the same.
Inside the room, the stove was burning warmly. Yan had only put on a sweater and felt comfortably warm, but he could still feel the cold. The surroundings were quiet, and he thought everyone was still sleeping, so he moved very quietly. However, as soon as he entered, he saw Qingqing, half-reclining against the head of the bed, feeding the baby.
For convenience, Qingqing had taken off her coat and was wearing only a shirt with buttons undone. The buttons had slipped open, exposing large areas of her snowy-white skin, with her black hair spread out on the pillow, forming a beautiful flower-like spread.
Her eyes were focused and gentle as she gazed at the baby in her arms, lightly patting the baby’s back. The dimples on her cheeks and her red lips and white teeth made her look even more beautiful. Although her body had returned to some degree of its former shape after giving birth, she was still full-figured, especially with her chest, which was even softer and fuller than before.
Having not been affectionate for a long time, just a spark would ignite the prairie.
Yan found it difficult to pull his gaze away from the charming scene. He swallowed hard, took a deep breath, and forced himself to regain composure. He walked forward, took the roasted sweet potato from Qingqing’s arms, and began peeling it beside the trash can.
“You’re back?” Qingqing slowly lifted her head upon hearing the movement. Seeing the sweet potato in his hand, her eyes curved into a crescent moon shape. “You roasted it?”
A few days ago, Qu Qingying had sent a large package of food from the capital. Qingqing had asked Yan to take some to his family and mentioned wanting to eat roasted sweet potatoes. Yan had remembered this, even though it was a small detail.
Yan smiled and nodded, though he continued his work. After a while, the sweet potato’s blackened skin was peeled off, revealing the golden flesh inside. He placed it in a clean bowl, washed his hands, and then walked to the bedside, bending down to look at the baby who was happily eating.
The plump little face, red and white like soft tofu, made Yan’s heart ache to take a bite. Noticing that he was watching, the baby’s long lashes fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes, his black grape-like pupils meeting Yan’s face.
The little bundle stared at Yan for a while, then suddenly grinned and reached out his chubby arms for a hug. Recently, he had gained weight, and his arms and legs were like little snow-white lotus roots. He was extremely cute, but Yan frowned slightly, “Don’t spoil him. He’s already gained two pounds in just a few days.”
Hearing this, Qingqing also lowered her head to look at the baby, pouting as she retorted, “At this age, children are growing, not gaining weight. It’s the extra chubbiness that makes them cute.”
After saying that, she mumbled softly, “Besides, I’m eating this because I’m hungry.”
The room was very quiet, and since they were so close, Qingqing’s words were clearly heard by Yan. He instinctively looked down at her, noticing her pale, flushed cheeks…
He struggled to suppress the seductive thoughts that resurfaced like a sky full of stars in his mind.
“I’ll take care of the baby while you eat the sweet potato while it’s still warm.” Yan quickly averted his gaze to hide his thoughts, took the baby from Qingqing’s arms, and placed him gently in the crib in the corner. The baby, full and content, was easy to soothe, requiring almost no effort from Yan.
Seeing this, Yan let out a sigh of relief and turned to leave quietly.
“Are you going to sleep?” Qingqing swallowed the sweet potato and asked. The room was filled with the sweet aroma, and before she could react to the temperature, the sweet taste was quickly stolen by Yan.
The hot, thick tongue and lips were in full attack, and there was only a little of the sweet potato left. Yan swiftly placed it on the nearby table and then became more aggressive, causing the sheets to get tangled and wrinkled.
After not having been this affectionate for a long time, their faces both turned red, and every touch made their bodies shiver with sensitivity.
Especially when I held her with both hands, which were still wet and sharp, I couldn’t help but scream, put my legs together, and called her name tremblingly, “Hello…”
“Do you want to stop? I can’t stop either.” He knew it was the day when Fan Jiuyan’s voice was already hoarse, his eyes were gloomy and he stared at her. That look made her bite her lower lip slowly, and she half-reluctantly hooked her calves around Fan Jiuyan’s waist.
From then on, things were difficult to manage, and the scent of milk gradually covered up the sweet aroma of the sweet potato.
“Don’t bite, sob, please, Yan,” Qingqing said, tilting her head back with a tearful expression. Her lips, red and slightly parted, showed the bite marks, and her voice wavered between pleading and desire, making Yan’s breathing even heavier.
His long fingers shifted slightly, letting Qingqing see the water glistening on his fingertips. With a slight smirk, he lazily whispered in her ear, “Qingqing, you should behave. Don’t bite me later.”
Qingqing’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Unable to continue looking, she turned her head and buried her face in the soft pillow, gritting her teeth to suppress the sounds about to escape her lips. Despite her efforts, Yan continued his teasing, making her tremble all over with frustration.
Unable to tolerate any longer, she pressed her palm firmly against his forehead and pushed him away.
Yan feigned confusion, looking at her with a puzzled expression. His pale lips were particularly striking, and for a moment, he struggled to find the right words. He ended up turning over and changing positions with her.
This time, Yan was genuinely surprised and raised his eyebrows, thinking that after such a long time, she would be shy and hesitant as before. He didn’t expect her to take the initiative and reverse their roles.
Seeing this, he realized he needed to adapt, and her potential was clearly emerging. Her pale skin turned rosy with slight arousal, her expression tender and seductive, as she looked at him with eyes that were almost enchanting.
He slowly adjusted his movements, but because he had not been exposed to this kind of thing for a long time, his lower body seemed unfamiliar, and no matter how careful he was, his soft palm would become even more fragile as soon as his nails touched the hard stone.
Yan was in pain, his brows furrowed deeply, his face turning pale and bluish. He silently regretted his self-inflicted suffering.
Eventually, Qingqing managed to find the right position, and at that moment, their bodies synchronized perfectly, their breaths coming in unison.
Qingqing supported herself on Yan’s abs, her tousled hair brushing against his face, causing occasional ticklish sensations. Despite her careful and gentle movements, they soon shifted positions again, this time without causing further distress.
The peak of their experience made Qingqing yearn to return to the previous, more torturous stage.
“Be good, don’t bite.”
“Mm, sweet. No wonder you eat it fresh.”
“I also eat it fresh.”
The absurd conversation ended with a loud cry.
Yan quickly put on his clothes, picked up the baby with a tired face, but his movements were exceptionally gentle. He skillfully hummed a lullaby, soothing the baby before preparing to return to their previous activity. As he turned his head, he saw Qingqing’s peaceful sleeping face.
The sight of Qingqing’s shoulders and neck covered in hickeys left her face flushed and her heart racing. The countless marks were written all over her body, creating a chaotic scene.
Yan couldn’t help but chuckle softly in resignation. He pulled Qingqing into his arms and held her close, the distance between them suddenly closing. Qingqing furrowed her brow and murmured, “You’re really…”
“Sleep now,” Yan said with a deep smile on his lips. He reached out to cover her with the blanket before slowly closing his eyes.
The pleasant New Year holiday eventually came to an end with Yan and Qingqing having to return to their normal routines. Although the couple had no work, they had decided to leave their baby in the countryside, so they had to impose on Ma Xiuzhi to take care of their child for a few days.
Though they felt guilty, Ma Xiuzhi was more than happy to help. Who wouldn’t want to live in the city? It was clean, comfortable, and convenient, a far cry from the rural areas. Although Qingqing didn’t say it, she actually valued this situation quite a bit.
Every time they had to leave their baby behind in the countryside and return to the city, Qingqing would feel the stark contrast. It’s a common thing in these parts having a daughter who can bring her family to live in the city is a privilege many don’t dare to dream of.
What’s the difference between sending a daughter to the city and throwing water away?
But for the Qingqing family, it’s different. Not only do they send money and gifts to their hometown, but now they directly bring their own mother to live in the city! Who would believe that such things would happen so close to them?
Ma Xiuzhi now stands tall and proud, strolling around the village every day, basking in the praise and flattery from the locals before heading back home.
But most importantly, Qingqing needed to be reassured about her beloved grandson. This young couple was parenting for the first time and was still quite young themselves. If anything were to go wrong, they might regret it later.
So, it was essential to have the experienced and reliable Ma Xiuzhi to oversee things!
Qingqing and Yan were relieved to know their child was in good hands. After happily settling in the provincial capital, Qingqing and Yan had no work during the day, so Ma Xiuzhi took care of the baby. In the evenings, they looked after the baby themselves, but due to their busy work schedules, they sometimes had to leave the baby in Ma Xiuzhi’s care.
After maternity leave and spring break ended, Qingqing and Yan were both extremely busy. Qingqing, in particular, was involved in a major project with Tian Fengchun, and they often needed to stay late at the bureau. In the later stages, there was more to handle, requiring frequent visits to the office.
Yan was also not much better off. The finance bureau was almost always open, and the work involved reviewing various tax documents was enormous. Not to mention the detailed and meticulous nature of the work.
In addition, Yan was preparing for a certification exam, so he spent his days studying and reading. Qingqing and Yan both needed to balance helping Ma Xiuzhi with taking care of the baby. Therefore, they decided to call in retired experts, Xiao jinhua and Qu Anming, to assist with babysitting.
The call was made on the first day, and by the fourth day, the retired experts were already helping with the baby.
With the help of the elders, Qingqing and Yan were able to focus more on their work.
