After finishing, Qin Ruqing looked up at the armor with a clear voice, “Master, I’m done.” Her eyes were full of anticipation.
How was that? Did it meet the criteria for a reward?
The armor didn’t respond, but deep within the divine tomb connected to the armor, a burst of laughter erupted.
“Haha, I knew this child was to my liking!”
The speaker was a powerful figure whose face was obscured.
She seemed to be wearing an ancient-style robe, with flowing hair and bare feet floating in the air.
Despite her evident feminine grace, she was so striking and brilliant that it was hard to look directly at her.
Wherever her gaze fell, it stirred a storm, and her laughter caused violent disturbances in space.
A sigh was heard, “Yue Ming, if you’re satisfied, give her the reward. If not, it’s fine; she might figure it out herself… Hurry up and make a decision, the path of inheritance is about to begin.”
The speaker was one of the two largest light orbs in the Immortal tomb, and other awakened spirits looked on with reverence and respect.
“Humph, floating life, you’ve been asleep for so many years, and still, you’re so dull when you wake up.” The ancient being called Yue Ming muttered, and the divine tomb gradually fell silent.
In the Trial Tower, or rather, the Xuanming Rule Domain, Qin Ruqing waited for a long time without hearing any response.
She wondered, could it be that this time her comprehension wasn’t good enough? Had she misunderstood something?
It shouldn’t be the case.
As Qin Ruqing puzzled over this, she suddenly heard the armor’s voice directly in her mind: “You have received the final reward of the Trial Tower, the Absolute Realm. You may now leave.”
Before Qin Ruqing could respond, she found herself outside the Xuanming Rule Domain.
Everything in the Trial Tower seemed to have become a thing of the past.
“I’ve already received the Absolute Realm…” Qin Ruqing pondered, but didn’t sense any immediate change.
“Could it be false advertising? There’s no extraordinary sensation…”
She shook her head. “The inheritance trials are a significant matter; the big figures behind this wouldn’t deceive me with something trivial. If I don’t feel anything now, it must be because I haven’t used it yet. Besides, after the previous trials, I have some understanding of what the Absolute Realm is.”
Qin Ruqing left one Rule Domain and, as usual, checked the leaderboard.
She sighed with relief—since Fifth Feathers had likely come out earlier, her name was no longer associated with any confusing effects.
Now that she was out, her name was simply crossed off the leaderboard.
Qin Ruqing felt reassured.
If every time she came out there were effects, even the most arrogant prodigies would be on their guard.
Now it was better; they might just think it strange that she was moving through the Rule Domains, but they wouldn’t necessarily think it related to her strength.
“Speaking of which, I thought the inheritance selection was meant to have us chosen young talents compete against each other, a sort of elite contest. But it seems that, after so many Rule Domains, it’s more about nurturing talent, like a training ground in a secret realm.”
Qin Ruqing clicked her tongue. “I was so excited before, thinking of making a grand effort. Now, it seems there’s no opportunity to compete with them in the Rule Domains. I wonder if this entire selection process is like this or if it’s just the Rule Domains.”
Shaking her head, Qin Ruqing decided not to waste any more time on this.
“There are only two left. Let’s finish them in one go. I see others are also coming out of the Rule Domains; I don’t want to be the last one.”
As if to confirm that the Rule Domains had a time limit, shortly after Qin Ruqing spoke, light and shadows appeared deep in the Immortal Tomb.
It was a gentle yet vast energy fluctuation. Everyone turned their gaze toward the source of the energy.
The deep voice announced: “There are three days remaining for the Rule Domains to remain open. After three days, the Rule Domains will close, and those who have not passed the trials will be teleported out of the Immortal Tomb.”
Being teleported out meant elimination.
Qin Ruqing immediately became alert: The Azure Lutos Cave requires me to clear all the Cave.
If I don’t complete the remaining two within three days, will it be considered a failure and lead to elimination?
That won’t do!
Having cleared the most difficult Origin and Xuanming Domains, the remaining two should be manageable if she just pushes through.
Qin Ruqing no longer dared to delay.
She glanced around the Rule Domains representing Fortune and the Dao of Destiny and chose Fortune.
The Dao of Destiny was associated with the Buddhist sect, which seemed a bit mystical, and Qin Ruqing didn’t quite understand it yet.
Fortune, on the other hand, was something she could work with, even though she was not inherently lucky… but bad luck is still a form of luck, right?
That said, Qin Ruqing was extremely nervous as she entered the Fortune Rule Domain.
There was no helping it; it was like asking an African chieftain not to be nervous when drawing cards.
The cave of destiny was very quiet, and Qin Ruqing didn’t feel any influence related to luck or destiny—well, it might just be that she couldn’t feel it…
As she wandered around, Qin Ruqing suddenly spotted a familiar figure.
Her eyes lit up; seeing someone she knew in this situation was a good thing.
She waved and called out, “Hey, Master Rui!”
Yes, the person ahead was none other than Fenhua.
The Rui Fenhua was still dressed harmlessly, with a pink flower in her ear and an innocent expression.
Qin Ruqing was initially excited to reunite with an old friend, but halfway there, she suddenly stopped.
Noticing something strange, Qin Ruqing furrowed her brows.
She made a hand gesture and looked again, only to be stunned.
To her, Fenhua was now in a perilous situation.
One step forward would send her into a matrix of sharp spikes; one step back, a giant boulder was ready to crush her; to the left, a ferocious ancient beast was waiting with its mouth wide open, ready to devour her; to the right, a ghostly soul was staring hungrily at her.
Yet, Fenhua was perfectly positioned in a safe gap.
Qin Ruqing thought, Fenhua really has good luck.
Just as she was about to shout a warning, Fenhua, deep in thought, took a step forward, as if she intended to proceed.
Qin Ruqing’s eyes widened, and she almost shouted, “Don’t go that way—!”
But Fenhua stopped mid-step, adjusted her position slightly, and once again precisely landed in the safe gap.
Qin Ruqing was stunned: …Is this even possible??
Fenhua seemed to finally notice Qin Ruqing.
She exclaimed with a wave, “Fairt Ruqing! What are you doing here?”
Qin Ruqing responded, “…What a coincidence.”
She adjusted her expression and couldn’t help but ask, “Are you here for the trial? Haha… Have you encountered any danger?”
Rui Fenhua said casually, “No, not at all. This cave feels very safe and suitable for me.”
Qin Ruqing asked, “…Then why were you closing your eyes earlier?”
Fenhua replied, “I was feeling the guidance of fate. It tells me where to go, and I just follow. In simpler terms, I’m comprehending the rules.”
So, there really are rules in this cave?
Is it something we can’t touch?
Not sure how to respond, Qin Ruqing found her intended warning about “danger ahead” seemed unnecessary.
She awkwardly forced a smile and said, “Well… you can, um, continue comprehending?”
Fenhua responded with a cheerful, “Oh!”
Qin Ruqing awkwardly retreated from Fenhua’s area.
Once she was far enough away, she pinched her face and tried to calm herself.
Qin Ruqing said to herself, “No sign of envy or anything like that! We shouldn’t compare our weaknesses to others’ strengths—such comparisons are meaningless!”
“Hmm, I just need to figure out how to get through this place.”
Qin Ruqing wandered around the cave of destiny again, feeling nothing, as if the cave was ignoring her.
After a moment of thought, Qin Ruqing gritted her teeth and sat down: she was going to start drawing lots.
—She would use magic to defeat magic!!
