At the Feng family’s headquarters, Feng Chengye lay in his tent.
His face was covered in sweat, and he gritted his teeth, enduring the pain as medical personnel removed the bullet.
Su Jiang had fired a blind shot at the tent before he arrived, and the bullet had struck Feng Chengye in the waist.
Fortunately, the bullet hit a relatively safe spot and hadn’t gone deep.
“Clang!”
“Done!”
The medical personnel pulled out the bullet and placed it on a tray.
Then, they quickly wrapped a bandage around Feng Chengye’s wound to stop the bleeding.
“Whew…”
Feng Chengye gasped for air. He had been so close to death in that moment.
At that moment, someone lifted the tent flap and rushed in, saying, “Master, after counting, we have very little food left.”
“Ha…the remaining food…how many days can it last?” Feng Chengye asked in a low voice.
“If we calculate based on the lowest consumption…it’s less than two days.”
Hearing that they only had two days worth of food left, Feng Chengye nearly choked.
He clenched his fists tightly, his eyes bloodshot. “Have you found out who did this?”
The man shook his head. “We suspect it’s the An family…”
“Bullshit!”
Feng Chengye roared, “Does An Mingjie have the ability to pull this off?”
“You saw it yourself. Not only did that person detonate explosives, but they also managed to almost kill me through the tent with a sniper shot, even after Rose’s counter-sniping.”
“And the only sniper in the An family is Li Cai.”
“You mean, all this was done by Li Cai?”
The man remained silent when he heard this.
The Feng family and the An family had been at odds for so long, everyone knew the truth.
Li Cai didn’t have the skills for such a thing.
“Master, it’s not good!”
Another person rushed in, panicked, and said, “An…An Mingjie is gathering the An family and heading towards us!”
“What?”
Feng Chengye stood up, ignoring the pain in his waist, and gritted his teeth, “Everyone, prepare for battle.”
He hadn’t expected An Mingjie to act so decisively.
But on second thought, it made sense. An Mingjie, once he seized an opportunity, would never let it go.
“Master, we’ve already sent people to chase after the sniper.”
“Use the walkie-talkies, call them all back!”
“Yes!”
…
In the dense forest, the Feng family members who were pursuing the sniper received the message and quickly withdrew.
Rose hid behind a tree, frowning, “Where are you going?”
“Our master is in danger, we’re going back to support him.”
“Damn it, don’t go!”
The Feng family members ignored her and continued to retreat, returning to support Feng Chengye.
“Damn it!”
“Rose cursed under her breath, but she couldn’t do anything about it. She wasn’t Feng Chengye, nor was she Wei Tian.
She couldn’t command these people.
Quickly, the original squad of dozens had dwindled to just eight, including Rose.
The remaining seven were Wei Tian’s private soldiers.
Xue Zhuang was their captain.
Now that Zue Zhuang is dead.
Rose took a deep breath. They were only eight, facing the elusive sniper.
From afar, Su Jiang observed Rose’s predicament through his scope.
“One, two, three… seven, eight!”
“Tsk, I was supposed to only deal with Rose. By this count, I’ve helped An Mingjie by taking out seven more.”
“One person, ten thousand yuan. I’ll have to ask An Mingjie for seventy thousand later.”
“Adding An Rou’s fee, I can get seventeen thousand.”
Su Jiang’s eyes lit up. He should really thank the God of Fortune!
Only a few days had passed, and he’d already earned so much money.”
“Holding his breath and focusing all his attention, Su Jiang kept his eyes fixed on the eight people. If even one of them dared to move, a bullet would be delivered immediately.
The people were familiar, the scene was familiar.
The only difference was that this time, there were eight people being put through the drill.
“You few, listen to my instructions,”
Rose instructed the others. As a sniper herself, she knew the terror the other one posed.
To take him out, someone had to sacrifice themselves.
Then, Rose took a deep breath, bent down, and met the eyes of one of the seven.
The person understood Rose’s meaning. Despair filled their eyes as they closed them, then slowly peeked out their head.”
“Bang!”
Su Jiang fired a shot.
Rose seized the opportunity. She immediately sprinted a long distance towards Su Jiang’s location.
While running, she even managed to fire a shot at Su Jiang.
Although her aim was off, and she didn’t hit him, it was close enough.
“Damn!”
Su Jiang exclaimed, quickly changing his position.
Meanwhile, Rose had already taken cover behind a tree.
The distance between them had narrowed considerably.
“This woman… wants to get close?”
Su Jiang frowned. Was she trying to engage in close combat since she couldn’t beat him at sniping?
She even used her teammate as bait, forcing him to fire, creating an opening for herself.
“Tsk, she’s ruthless.”
“Su Jiang clicked his tongue, lamenting Rose’s cold-bloodedness.
Not far away, Rose turned her head and gave another subtle wave of her hand.
Another person emerged, running towards Su Jiang, firing shots as they charged.
They were a complete suicide squad member.
“Damn!”
Su Jiang cursed under his breath and without hesitation turned his head and fired another shot.
“Bang!” Another person fell.
He knew Rose was deliberately making him fire, but Su Jiang had no choice.
Otherwise, the suicide squad member would have been right in his face.
This brief pause allowed the distance between Rose and Su Jiang to close even further.
Even worse, Su Jiang noticed that as the distance shortened, Rose’s shots became increasingly accurate.”
After Su Jiang fired his gun, the time it took him to shift positions became shorter and shorter.
Rose took a deep breath. There was a crucial reason why she was doing this.
She was betting that Su Jiang’s gun was empty.
Throughout the chase, Rose had already anticipated that Su Jiang’s bullets were running low.
They had eight people, and the number of bullets in Su Jiang’s gun wouldn’t exceed that number.
What’s more, he had wasted a bullet on Xue Zhuang earlier.
A glint of sharpness flashed in Rose’s eyes. In her estimation, Su Jiang had at most five bullets left in his gun!
And she still had five people she could use!
Sacrificing another person, Rose moved forward a bit more.
“This position… is enough!”
“He should have four bullets at most!”**
Rose judged that at their current distance, she could definitely kill him with her marksmanship.
She took out her walkie-talkie and commanded the remaining four to move.
“Bang, bang, bang…”
The four remaining members of the suicide squad emerged from behind the trees, firing continuously.
Rose leaned against the tree, her eyes cold and emotionless, silently counting the number of bullets Su Jiang had left.
“Bang!” One fell.
Three!
“Bang!” Only two members of the suicide squad remained.
Two!
“Bang!” Only one left.
One bullet left!
“Bang!” The last member of the suicide squad fell.
Now!
A gleam of determination flashed in Rose’s eyes. She raised her sniper rifle and quickly peeked out from behind the tree.
With a hint of a cruel smile, she aimed.
The game was over.
However, before she could steady herself, the smile on her face froze.
Rose’s eyes widened, her index finger hovering over the trigger, frozen in time, hesitant to fire.
Less than two meters in front of her, Su Jiang was holding his pistol, aiming at her forehead.
“Hey, after sniping each other for so long, we finally meet face-to-face?”
Su Jiang greeted her with a bright smile, as if he had encountered an old friend.
“How… is that possible?”
Rose’s lips trembled. She couldn’t comprehend it.
When did Su Jiang get so close?
