The Beginning of Natural Disaster, I Won by Hoarding Tens of Billions of Supplies
The Beginning of Natural Disaster, I Won by Hoarding Tens of Billions of Supplies | Chapter 417: Sea Storm

More and more people were screaming. Some people had their arms bitten off on the spot, and their bodies were forcefully dragged to the bottom of the sea.

The moonlight was dim, and in addition to the screams. All that could be heard were the creatures swimming beneath the surface.

The blood spread quickly. Some people were bitten on their hands, some had their legs bitten off, and some were dragged to the bottom of the sea and never floated up again.

In the struggle between life and death, someone hit something hard, and it seemed round when touched.

A flashlight flickered for a moment, and in the dim light, a large spherical object could vaguely be seen.

It was an escape pod!

He couldn’t help but feel hopeful and patted the escape pod hard, “Help! Help!”

Jiang Ning felt the vibrations but they weren’t strong. The curtains on the glass were drawn, so neither the inside nor the outside could be seen.

The downgrade from a cruise ship to an escape pod was ridiculously quick.

Fortunately, the three of them and the dog were used to switching. Others were struggling to survive in the ocean and were at risk of death at any time, while they could eat hot meals and take a fragrant bath —a happiness that seemed too good to be true.

Doudou smiled and secretly fed the dog some ribs.

When she woke up the next day, she was in a soft and comfortable bed again, and there seemed to be the sound of seabirds.

The sun shone in through the window, soft and bright, as if warm hands were gently caressing her face.

Doudou got out of bed, changed clothes, and ran off to make breakfast.

As soon as she opened the door, the seabirds on the deck fluttered and soared under the blue sky.

Doudou had never seen birds except crows. She finally saw one at sea, and her sister-in-law reminded her to stay away.

The seabirds had mutated after eating fish from the sea and could potentially be dangerous.

Jiang Ning woke up late, and her whole body was sore and weak.

Huo Yishen, still drowsy, wrapped his arm around her waist and nuzzled her neck. “Sleep a little longer. Doudou and Coke will make breakfast.”

They had stayed up late into the night, so they were still very tired.

At around nine, the dog came knocking on the door. “Woof!”

No need to guess, Doudou had finished making breakfast.

The two got up, washed, and after Jiang Ning finished eating, she continued to study the instruments until she… fell asleep.

Only Huo Yishen persisted and took notes of the key points so that she could easily review them later.

In the evening, the dog came running to report, “Woof, woof!”

Huo Yishen had trained it well—two short barks indicate that he had found something!

The two were in perfect sync, and it was clear Doudou had sent the dog.

Upon reaching the deck, Jiang Ning learned that Doudou had spotted a submarine while surveying the sea.

Whether out of longing or tired of seeing people of different skin colors, Doudou asked excitedly, “Is it a submarine from the southern military base?”

It was far away, and only a breathing tube was exposed above the water, so it was really hard to identify it.

But what is certain is that since the submarine could surface, it meant that the sea here was deep enough.

She can finally take out her boat to play.

But compared to living in a cramped submarine, she still prefers the giant cruise ship.

If given a choice, of course.

But Jiang Ning had always been a jinx. Before sunset, the weather at sea changed.

The sunset was suddenly taken away, and the distance was instantly covered with dark clouds.

Jiang Ning was reading in her room and didn’t realize what was happening when she fell asleep.

Doudou, being particularly considerate, wouldn’t disturb her brother unless it was something important.

She was cooking with an apron on, and only the dog was dozing on the deck.

By the time the dog noticed something was wrong, it was too late.

It let out a sharp, urgent bark, “Woof woof woof!”

The light in the kitchen seemed to dim, and the ever-vigilant Doudou looked up but didn’t notice anything unusual.

But when she looked further away, she was so startled that she almost dropped the spatula.

She thought she was seeing things, but after blinking twice, nothing had changed.

Hearing the dog’s sharp cries, Jiang Ning was jolted awake from her dream and instinctively sat up.

She and Huo Yishen ran out, and when they rushed to the deck, they saw huge waves in the distance…

At the edge of the sea, towering waves dozens of meters high were rolling in with overwhelming force.

But the sea where Jiang Ning was located was still calm.

A sea storm!

There were dark clouds rolling over there, and the sky seemed to be splashed with thick ink, and it turned completely black in an instant.

Purple lightning tore through the heavy dark clouds and struck the sea with a crackling sound.

Lightning flashed one after another, and thunderbolts of green, blue, and purple intertwined continuously, as if it’s determined to shatter the sky. It was even brighter than the fireworks during the Spring Festival.

The thunderstorm crackled, and the giant waves advanced rapidly.

It’s growing larger and larger.

Like pages of a book being flipped, the waves rose straight up before curling over in an oval shape.

The sky was dark and gloomy, and in the distance, a ship could vaguely be seen being tossed high by the massive waves, then flipped over and swallowed by the sea.

The ship was not small, but in the face of the storm, it was as fragile as a paper boat made by a child.

It was a ship, but it was nothing in front of the sea storm.

There seemed to be a lot of survivors on the ship. They used all kinds of protective measures to survive, but in the face of the storm, they were as small as ants. They didn’t even have a chance to struggle. They fell into the raging sea and were swallowed up in an instant.

Jiang Ning had seen many disaster movies, but now that reality was unfolding right before her eyes.

Her heart clenched, and her body stiffened with fear.

“Brother.” Doudou ran out of the kitchen with a spatula, “The storm is coming!”

But soon, the storm had appeared closer, just a few hundred meters away. It rushed towards them like a devil with a gaping mouth, baring its teeth and claws.

The seawater rolled violently from the depths, and there was no wind, but the waves suddenly rose, shaking the three people and the dog so much that they almost fell out.

“Be careful.” Huo Yishen hugged his sister and held her in his arms.

In a split second, Jiang Ning pulled the entire ship into her space.

Just as the cruise ship disappeared, the storm struck.

The storm, as high as a hundred meters, was far more powerful than several tons of explosives and continued to sweep forward recklessly.

There were lightning and thunder, and heavy rain poured down. The entire sea turned into a madman waving a knife.

Inside the space, Jiang Ning pulled out the escape pod. Huo Yishen quickly pushed his sister inside, “Don’t be afraid, I’ll be with you.”

All three of them, along with the dog, squeezed into the pod. Jiang Ning was the last to enter, and she closed the hatch and pulled the curtains shut.

Doudou had never seen such a terrifying scene before and was momentarily paralyzed with fear. Huo Yishen held her in his arms and comforted her, “It’s okay. Even though it looks close, it’s still far away. It’ll turn away.”

Jiang Ning almost couldn’t hold back a laugh.

But deep down, she felt a cold sweat break out. After a few days of calm, she had become complacent.

How could she have been so careless at sea? She really was playing with fire.

Jiang Ning reflected on herself and secretly decided that she must change her ways and not rely on the space everytime.

Doudou drank some warm water and calmed down after a long time, “Brother, did the storm miss us?”

Huo Yishen, with a dramatic flair, deliberately pulled the curtains to look out, “Yes, it turned away.”

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
