Chapter 14: Joining Test
“Really disappointing, I thought the one who defeated Yuris would be some powerful newcomer, but it turns out to be just a coward. Maybe the rumors about winning with props are true.”
Another beautiful senior, Mona, rested her chin on her hand, looking disappointed.
“Mona, that’s not a nice thing to say.” The captain, Nathan, tried to mediate.
A typical provocation, but it didn’t work on him; Leo ignored it completely.
“In that case, I will withdraw too. I will follow you.”
Yuris said, making the others even more anxious.
At that moment, there was another knock at the door.
“Strange, there shouldn’t be anyone coming, right? Jin, go open the door.”
“Yes, yes!”
It’s always Jin who opens the door; being so diligent must mean he is trusted by his teammates.
Leo followed along, leaving as well.
The person outside walked in, accompanied by a fragrant breeze, and Leo clearly saw the figure of the newcomer.
A pure white figure gracefully walked in, wearing a white priest’s robe, with striking silver long hair flowing, her eyes ethereal and clear, and her posture light; she was a fairy-like beautiful girl.
Leo couldn’t take his eyes off her, and of course, neither could the others.
“I am Michelle Restina, and I would like to apply to join the Crimson Flame team, with the role of support, profession: priest.”
Michelle handed over her application, and Nathan finally realized what was happening.
“The newly appointed candidate saintess of the church, Michelle, do you really want to join our team?”
Nathan couldn’t believe it; a candidate saintess with such a noble status in the church would want to join the Holy Radiance team, how could she choose to join them? So he confirmed again.
“Yes.”
Michelle gently nodded, every frown and smile making her look so charming, dignified and elegant.
“Welcome, welcome!”
At first, Nathan couldn’t believe it, but he quickly accepted it; it was their luck that such a big shot wanted to join their team.
The captain was very happy; three people joined at once, and he couldn’t let Leo and Yuris escape, he would tie them up if necessary.
Just as he was about to act, he saw Leo had somehow sat back down and was drinking tea.
Damn! I was clearly moving forward, how come my body is retreating?
Leo was filled with regret; he wasn’t attracted by Michelle, it was just that his legs weren’t listening to him.
Leo didn’t leave, and Yuris also sat down; he was the only one present who didn’t notice Michelle’s beauty, instead, he kept staring at Leo, afraid he would run away.
“Finally, a newcomer has joined; let’s have a celebration!” Heles said.
Leo: “Let’s skip the celebration; there’s still the joining test.”
“Yuris and Michelle’s abilities are beyond doubt, but as for you, Leo, everyone still can’t see your strength clearly, so the joining test is specially prepared for you.”
Nathan was determined; even if Leo was a waste, he had to let him join, after all, he was bringing Yuris along, which was worth it.
So, am I leaving?
Leo felt the thick barrier between them; can’t there be a bit of trust between people?
“That won’t do; I also want to participate in the joining test.”
Michelle hated being treated specially; at least it was unfair to Leo.
“Everyone has to participate in the joining test; we mainly want to see Leo’s strength, after all, the rumors are too exaggerated.”
“No doubt, this guy is a monster; otherwise, how could I lose so badly?” Yuris said unwillingly.
Leo pouted; is it my fault for being too weak?
“Let me be clear, I will join for a month first, and if I’m not satisfied, I will leave.”
The joining test was just a small matter; Leo missed the best opportunity to leave and had to agree for now.
“The mission has been accepted; let’s go now.”
Heles took out the mission list, “This mission will be handled by the three of you, of course, we will be watching from the side; is that okay?”
“Probably.”
For the first time, Leo wasn’t so confident; he used to work alone, but now with three people, they needed to cooperate, and he really didn’t know how to do it.
The mission Heles accepted was a C-class mission, and the team’s average level was B-class; C-class was the easiest mission. If Leo and the others couldn’t even complete this, there would be no need for them to join.
Moreover, besides Leo, Yuris was a well-known genius, and Michelle was a candidate saintess of the church, so her strength was naturally not weak. Together, the three of them could complete a C-class mission.
However, they also knew about the conflict between Yuris and Leo; they just didn’t know if they would set aside their grudges and cooperate.
Heles’ eyes darted between the two; this was going to be interesting.
“Isn’t C-class a bit difficult?”
Nathan hesitated; most newcomers were F-class, and even most of Class A were E-class, with very few D-classs, and almost no C-classs. Was it a bit too much to ask Leo and the others to handle a C-class mission?
“I will do my best!” Michelle cheered herself on.
“I am C-class.”
Yuris didn’t say much, but he revealed a sense of pride; after speaking, he looked at Leo, wanting to know his level but feeling embarrassed to ask.
“Just barely D-class.”
Leo casually replied; Yuris was a famous super student, more renowned than Caroline, and his talent was naturally not bad, but when it came to swordsmanship, Yuris was still a bit lacking.
“I am also D-class,” Michelle said.
Ratings don’t determine strength; Leo believed Michelle was not as simple as she appeared, just like himself.
“That’s impressive; it seems we were only E-class when we enrolled, no wonder you are a newcomer from Class A.” Mona said with a slightly sour tone.
“Is there no S-class?”
Leo seemed to have never heard of any S-class newcomers since he enrolled.
“There is only one S-class among the five academies, but the members have not been determined yet; they will select the most talented group from all newcomers, and everyone has a chance. Someone like you shouldn’t be content with staying in Class A,” Yuris replied.
Leo really wasn’t interested in S-class.
“Without further ado, let’s set off!”
Heles was already prepared, eager to try with her great sword.
“Senior Heles, what are you doing? The newcomer test doesn’t require you to take action.” Mona hurriedly stopped her.
After a simple preparation, Leo and the others set off.
To complete the mission, they naturally had to leave Nidlan Island. The missions accepted by students were basically the same as those of adventurers, but the missions sent to the academy had been strictly screened and couldn’t have any mistakes.
Sometimes students would also interact with adventurers, but adventurers generally wouldn’t take the initiative to communicate with students; in their eyes, the students of Nidlan Academy were a bunch of noble young masters, whom they couldn’t afford to offend, so they avoided them, which also reduced the risks for students going out.
Even the most desperate criminals wouldn’t dare to offend Nidlan Academy at great risk.
Crossing the Nidlan Bridge, Leo and the others arrived at the Holy City of Eirland again, heading outside the city.
“Those noble young masters and ladies are out to play again.”
In the eyes of the public, the adventure internship at Nidlan Academy was just like a game.
“What a beautiful girl!”
“Hey! That’s a priest; don’t cause trouble.”
“……”
“Ignore them.”
Heles’ expression turned cold as she led everyone away.
