Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 10

Aunt Yu’s Matter 1

Ye Mo hugged the butler tightly for a moment. Even though he was just a robot, she still saw him as more than a machine because of his rich emotions.

“Uncle Guan, this is my grandmother!” Ye Mo said warmly, pulling the butler towards her grandmother and introducing them.

The butler bowed respectfully. “Greetings, Madam!” he said.

Grandma waved her hands dismissively. “No need for formalities! No need!” she insisted.

The butler then noticed the housekeeper robot standing nearby. Ye Mo quickly explained, “This is the nanny robot I just bought.”

The butler nodded. “The master left a housekeeper robot for the young mistress. Let this one serve Madam exclusively,” he said, gesturing to the new robot.

Grandma hurriedly replied, “No need! Really, no need!”

Ye Mo smiled gently. “Grandma, don’t refuse. We’re living in the wealthy district now, and it would be strange not to have a nanny robot around.”

Hearing this, Grandma stopped protesting. After all, she realized her granddaughter would continue living here and didn’t want her to lose face in their new environment.

The garden surrounding the villa was vast, covering hundreds of square meters. The villa itself was a grand, three-story building. Although there were rooms upstairs, Grandma didn’t want to live on the upper floors, so the butler arranged for her to have the largest room on the ground floor.

Ye Mo, on the other hand, chose a room on the third floor. There were two rooms on that floor—one of them had belonged to Ye Mo’s mother. Ye Mo didn’t touch that room, leaving it exactly as it was, including the five safes stored there.

Her own room had already been tidied up. According to the butler, Ye Mo’s mother had decorated it herself, creating a space that felt elegant and comfortable. Ye Mo immediately felt at ease there, loving the room at first sight.

The housekeeper robot that Ye Mo’s mother had prepared was also stationed in her room. Without hesitation, Ye Mo imprinted her genetic data on it, officially making the robot hers.

Meanwhile, the butler busied himself with arranging breakfast. He mentioned that Ye Mo’s mother had stored some food for her in the cellar. When Ye Mo followed him to the ice cellar, she found that, while the cellar was large, it only contained two boxes of potatoes and a box of dried fish.

The butler called for the chef robot and instructed it to prepare mashed potatoes for both Ye Mo and her grandmother.

Ye Mo couldn’t help but laugh. It seemed mashed potatoes were a staple food in this world.

She brought out a batch of sweet potatoes that she had grown in her game. “Butler, have them make mashed sweet potatoes instead!” she said. “They taste so much better than regular mashed potatoes.”

The butler nodded and passed the sweet potatoes to the chef robot.

According to the butler, in addition to himself, there were other service robots in the mansion, including chefs, gardeners, and cleaners. It was thanks to these diligent robots that the house remained spotless.

Ye Mo also ordered new clothes for Grandma online and handed them over to the housekeeper robot. Grandma, suddenly thrust into a life of comfort and luxury, didn’t quite know what to do with herself.

During breakfast, when Grandma tasted the mashed sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, tears welled up in her eyes. Ye Mo was a bit perplexed. Were these foods really that delicious? She personally didn’t find them so appetizing.

After finishing their meal, Ye Mo called her Aunt Yu. By now, her aunt should have left her in-laws’ house. Aunt Yu worked various odd jobs every day, sometimes earning money by helping wealthy people with their shopping, and other times returning home without a penny.

When Aunt Yu picked up the call, Ye Mo immediately sensed something was off. “Aunt, what’s wrong?” she asked.

“It’s nothing,” Aunt Yu replied, trying to hold back her tears.

“Aunt, where are you right now?”

Aunt Yu gave Ye Mo the address of a luxury store near the wealthy district.

“Aunt, wait for me at the entrance. I’ll come pick you up,” Ye Mo said, knowing that something must have happened.

Grandma, overhearing the conversation, became visibly worried about her daughter. Aunt Yu was a strong woman, not one to cry easily. Something serious must have occurred.

Ye Mo quickly set off in her aircraft. It was worth mentioning that the estate had a protective barrier around it, so aircraft couldn’t enter without permission. After passing through security, Ye Mo soon arrived at the luxury store Aunt Yu had mentioned.

“Aunt!” Ye Mo called out upon landing.

“Ye Mo, what are you doing here?” Aunt Yu was surprised, especially when she saw her niece arriving in an aircraft.

“Aunt, hop in!” Ye Mo said, smiling.

Aunt Yu quickly wiped away her tears and climbed into the aircraft. Ye Mo then piloted it back towards the villa.

“Ye Mo, this is the wealthy district!” Aunt Yu said nervously.

“Yes, Aunt. Grandma and I moved here. This property was left to us by my mother,” Ye Mo explained.

Aunt Yu was shocked. “Ye Mo, am I dreaming?” she asked.

Ye Mo chuckled. “No, Aunt, you’re not dreaming. If you want, you can stay with us as long as you like. We have a room just for you.”

As Ye Mo observed her aunt in the rearview mirror, she could tell that something was deeply troubling her. Aunt Yu’s worried expression said it all.

Her words brought Aunt Yu to tears again. She had just had a massive falling out with her in-laws after her mother-in-law brought another woman into the house, claiming that this new woman had better fertility. Aunt Yu knew they were trying to push her out. She had fought bitterly with her husband over it. He had even suggested having a child with the new woman and letting Aunt Yu raise it.

How could she agree to that? After their argument, Aunt Yu left the house, and her husband angrily told her not to return.

Aunt Yu didn’t know what to do. She never expected her own mother and niece to have moved into the wealthy district.

When Ye Mo brought Aunt Yu back to the villa, she, like Grandma, was mesmerized by the large garden.

It was worth noting that plants were rare in this world, and no one would have expected Ye Mo’s mother to have cultivated so many thriving flowers here.

After crying for a long time, Aunt Yu finally explained everything that had happened with her in-laws. Grandma was furious. “Leave him!” she declared. “Our family used to be poor and powerless, but thanks to Ye Mo, we now have this big house. We won’t be lacking for a place to live in the future. And I’ve just sold our old house for 6,000 star coins, so we won’t be short on money either. Leave him!”

At that moment, Ye Mo took out the latest model of a wristwatch. “Aunt, wear this,” she said, handing it to her. “If you leave him, you’ll need this to stay in touch with us.”

Aunt Yu’s eyes widened. “Ye Mo, this wristwatch costs 250,000!”

“Aunt, Grandma and I have already changed ours,” Ye Mo said with a smile.

Aunt Yu saw that they had indeed upgraded their wristwatches, so she no longer hesitated and put hers on.
