Chapter 55: Lu Xiaoxi Rubbed Li Mu’s Lips
The air was filled with a faint smell of dust.
The autumn rain fell continuously, and the tiny droplets seemed to form a layer of mist.
Li Mu’s raincoat was rather simple; as he walked along the road, the rain hit his face, and after just a few steps, his face was already wet.
The droplets on his face slid down, soaking the collar of his clothes.
Having just taken a shower and changed into clean clothes, he would have to do it all over again when he got home.
Speaking of which, he had become an online writer because of a rainstorm.
However, that rainstorm was much heavier than this one.
“This area is a bit slippery when it rains; you should be careful with those slippers,” Lu Xiaoxi reminded.
“My pair is royal high-end slippers; they won’t slip,” he replied.
“Twenty yuan for royal slippers, right?” Lu Xiaoxi recognized the slippers at a glance; they were the same pair they had bought together while shopping at the supermarket.
She wore cloth shoes and walked carefully, only daring to take the next step after steadying herself, afraid of really slipping.
In contrast, Li Mu, wearing slippers, walked over without a care in the world.
“Not falling down is your good luck.”
“All thanks to these slippers.”
“Oh.”
“Walk slower; I can’t see the road.”
Li Mu’s raincoat was quite simple, with only a waterproof hood and no brim; as long as there was a bit of wind, the rain would blow onto his face.
Even trying to shield it with his hand was futile; after just a couple of steps, his face was drenched.
His long eyelashes were dotted with tiny raindrops, seemingly glowing.
Lu Xiaoxi turned to look at him and found it somewhat amusing to see him squinting as he walked. She took a tissue from her pocket and handed it to him.
“Want to wipe?”
“My hands are wet; you help me wipe.”
“You are so troublesome.”
Lu Xiaoxi complained as she randomly dabbed at Li Mu’s face, being careful when wiping his eyes, afraid of hurting him.
When she wiped his mouth, she was much rougher, using two fingers to rub his lips through the tissue, which felt soft and warm, an incredibly pleasant sensation, and she could even feel the warmth of his breath.
It was an unprecedented tactile experience that made Lu Xiaoxi feel somewhat addicted.
“Rub any more, and they’ll swell up like sausage lips.”
“Who rubbed? I didn’t rub; don’t say that!” The little girl would never admit it.
“Alright, alright, you didn’t rub; I bit them myself, is that okay?”
As Li Mu said this, he actually bit his lips.
“Wait, this isn’t the tissue you used after going to the bathroom, is it?”
Just thinking about that possibility made Li Mu feel uneasy.
“…Is that all you can think about, those disgusting things?”
The two of them went to pick up their parents.
On the way back, they ended up together again.
When the two families met, there was naturally no shortage of lively conversation.
Men’s topics were always quite strange.
In the short distance, Li Changheng and Lu Ming went from complaining about their boss to discussing world wars.
Which country to attack today, which one tomorrow, deploying planes today, and nuclear bombs the day after.
Li Mu also got interested and joined in their conversation.
The three men’s discussion then shifted from world wars to the Three Kingdoms.
“Wow!” Li Mu exclaimed, originally walking steadily when his foot slipped, and he unexpectedly fell hard, landing on his backside.
His left slipper flew off.
The water from his raincoat splashed onto the others, and some muddy water even splattered onto Lu Xiaoxi’s pant legs.
“Are you okay? How can you be so careless on a rainy day?”
Su Wen stepped forward to help him up, her face filled with concern.
Although she often scolded her son, it was all in jest; she cherished her precious son dearly.
“A little fall on my backside is nothing,” Li Mu said, grimacing in pain as he struggled to stand up, rubbing his rear vigorously.
“Go home and apply some ointment.”
“Mom, it’s nothing.”
“I told you to be careful…” Lu Xiaoxi helped him pick up his other slipper.
Li Mu noticed the little girl’s furrowed brows and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
…
Night fell.
Li Mu could only hug his little pig plushie, lying on the bed playing games.
That fall in the afternoon had been quite hard; not to mention his sore backside, he had landed on his hands, scraping the skin on his palms and bleeding quite a bit, which he only noticed while showering.
On the table, there was a bottle of ointment and some medicated oil.
It was still raining outside, but the rain was light, even less than the drizzling rain of spring.
After raining for half a day, the clouds were ready to clock out.
Such prolonged rain was rare in autumn.
As one game ended, Lu Xiaoxi happened to send him a message.
[Little Pig Lu]: Did your backside bloom?
[Idiot Li]: It’s all done.
[Little Pig Lu]: (Keep a distance from idiots.jpg)
[Little Pig Lu]: (Middle finger) (Contempt)
[Little Pig Lu]: Did you apply the medicine?
[Idiot Li]: Not yet, it was just a fall, it’s nothing serious.
[Little Pig Lu]: You should at least apply some; if there’s bruising, you can use ice to compress it, and tomorrow use a hot egg to apply, it will heal quickly.
[Idiot Li]: Too much trouble; it would be great if someone could help me apply the medicine.
After sending this message, Li Mu braced himself for the barrage of scolding emojis from Lu Xiaoxi.
Unexpectedly, Lu Xiaoxi did not bombard him with emojis but sent a voice message instead.
It seemed she wanted to explode in anger but was afraid of being overheard by others, deliberately lowering her voice.
A muffled, gritted-teeth “pervert.”
At that moment, Lu Xiaoxi was definitely lying in bed, tossing and turning, roughly squeezing and kneading her little dog plushie, and perhaps little Fei was lying beside her.
Li Mu took a photo of his scraped and bleeding palm and sent it to her.
[Idiot Li]: (Image)
[Idiot Li]: It hurts so much.
[Little Pig Lu]: Serves you right.
[Idiot Li]: Be a person.
Li Mu glanced at the time; it was already twelve-thirty, his bedtime.
[Idiot Li]: I’m going to sleep; you should sleep early.
[Little Pig Lu]: Oh.
[Idiot Li]: Where’s the voice message?
[Little Pig Lu]: Those who take advantage should be punished!
Li Mu chuckled, feeling his eyelids getting heavier.
He imitated Lu Xiaoxi’s previous tone and sent her a “good night” voice message.
After charging his phone, Li Mu hugged the little pig plushie and went to sleep.
His backside was a bit sore, so he could only sleep on his side.
Lu Xiaoxi held her phone, her big eyes blinking as she listened to the voice message Li Mu sent, her finger gently tapping, and Li Mu’s soft, tingling voice came through.
She casually grabbed her little dog plushie and hugged it to her chest, her breath a bit warm.
So strange, let me listen again.
Let me listen again.
Perhaps feeling annoyed, little Fei jumped onto the table without making a sound due to its cat-like body structure.
Little Fei meowed a couple of times in displeasure, its ears drooping down, curling up like a cotton ball to continue sleeping.
Its owner was probably sick.
