Chapter 4 The Green Tea Su Miaowen
Su Maoyu put down his chopsticks and looked at Su Xiwan, “Xiwan, your mother is talking to you. What’s your attitude?”
Su Xiwan didn’t show any fear. She looked straight at Su Maoyu with calm and determined eyes and said slowly, “Mom? Mr. Su, don’t you know? When I was very young, Mrs. Su forbade me from calling her Mom. I didn’t know the reason before, but now I finally know. It turns out I wasn’t born into this family. Mrs. Su, did you already know that I wasn’t your real daughter?”
After Su Xiwan asked this question, a flash of panic crossed Fang Qinghui’s eyes. But she quickly regained her composure and pretended to be angry. “How could that be? I… It’s just that I thought I couldn’t get pregnant again because of the difficult labor when I gave birth to you, so I took it out on you.”
A mocking smile curled Su Xiwan’s lips. She sneered, “Oh? Is that so? Then now that Mrs. Su knows you were wrong about me, do you feel a little guilty? And the one who caused you to have a difficult labor and be unable to have children again is your real daughter who you just found!”
Su Xiwan hadn’t missed the panic in Fang Qinghui’s eyes. She had also looked at the face of the real daughter who had just returned, and the doubts in her heart finally had an answer. She finally understood why the Feng Shui of the Su house had changed so drastically overnight!
It seemed that the Su family’s life would become more and more lively. Su Xiwan thought mockingly. People shouldn’t do too many bad things. What goes around comes around. We’ll see who Heaven spares and who Heaven punishes!
Fang Qinghui was speechless after hearing Su Xiwan’s words. For a moment, she didn’t know how to respond. Then, her face became slightly angry, and she raised her voice, “How can you compare yourself to our Miaowen? How can you be so malicious? You took Miaowen’s identity for eighteen years, and not only are you ungrateful, you’re trying to drive a wedge between Miaowen and us. You have such a vicious heart!”
As soon as Fang Qinghui finished speaking, Su Miaowen also pretended to be wronged and her eyes turned red as she asked, “Mom and Dad, shouldn’t I have been born? That way, Mom’s body would have been fine. It’s all my fault. It’s all my fault!”
Fang Qinghui’s heart ached when she saw Su Miaowen’s tearful eyes. She thought that her daughter would have a good life in that family, but she didn’t expect her to be lonely and suffer for over a decade in an orphanage.
The more Fang Qinghui thought about it, the angrier she became. She felt even more sorry for her daughter, who had just returned to her side and looked so much like her. She hugged Su Miaowen and comforted her gently, “Good daughter, how can you blame yourself? Don’t listen to her nonsense, Su Xiwan.”
After hearing Fang Qinghui say this, Su Miaowen first gave Su Xiwan a smug look, then pretended to be moved and said to Fang Qinghui in a sweet voice, “Mom, I’m so glad I found you. When I was in the orphanage, I envied those children who had parents who loved them the most.”
Hearing her daughter say this, Fang Qinghui felt even more sorry for her. She patted Su Miaowen’s back lovingly. “Good Wenwen, you have parents and brothers who love you now. You are the most cherished little princess of our Su family.”
Looking at the two people who were acting like they were deeply attached to each other, Su Xiwan found it incredibly ridiculous. At this point, she was too lazy to watch their hypocritical performance. She turned to Su Maoyu and said, “Mr. Su, I’m leaving. Oh, right, I’d like to give you a friendly reminder. The Su family might not be so smooth sailing in the future. Mr. Su, you’d better find a Feng Shui master to take a look.”
Su Xiwan said this and then left the Su family with her backpack. Fang Qinghui, who was comforting Su Miaowen, saw Su Xiwan leave. Although she was a little unhappy, she couldn’t help but feel relieved when she thought that the person she had hated for over a decade was finally leaving this house. Their family was finally truly reunited, and no outsiders would bother them anymore!
Thinking about this, Fang Qinghui said to her two sons, who were eating while playing on their phones, “Hexuan, Heming, now that your sister is back, you have to be nice to her, okay?”
Hearing Fang Qinghui’s words, Su Hexuan and Su Heming replied impatiently without looking up, “Okay, we’ve already bought clothes and jewelry for our sister. We haven’t bought anything for that Su Xiwan.”
Su Hexuan and Su Heming usually hung out with their friends and spent money recklessly. So, they knew that if they wanted to get more allowance from their parents, they had to please their mother.
So, after Su Miaowen was brought back, they saw how much Fang Qinghui cared about her. To please Fang Qinghui, they also took the initiative to buy some jewelry for Su Miaowen.
Hearing her sons’ assurances, Fang Qinghui felt relieved. She pulled Su Miaowen to sit down and continue eating. After Su Xiwan left, Fang Qinghui felt that the food today was particularly delicious. She also ate more than usual today.
Fang Qinghui called over the few servants who were in the dining room that day, “Zhang Sao, the food you made today is very good. Your bonus this month will be an extra two hundred!”
Zhang Sao was overjoyed when she heard Fang Qinghui’s words. She repeatedly thanked her, “Thank you, Madam, thank you, Madam!” The other servants also thanked her when they heard this.
Fang Qinghui was very satisfied with the servants’ performance. She just liked this feeling of being superior and being able to control the fate of others.
“You can go now. As long as you work hard, our Su family will never treat you badly.”
After hearing Fang Qinghui’s words, the servants, ignoring the pain in their mouths, repeatedly said some flattering words and praised Fang Qinghui before leaving.
They didn’t know what was going on. Many of them had suddenly developed various mouth problems the night before. Some had severe mouth ulcers, some had tonsillitis, and some had swollen gums…
If it had been one or two people, it wouldn’t have been a big deal. But when seven or eight people all had these problems, it was hard not to suspect that something was wrong with their food.
———-
Su Xiwan put on her backpack and walked out of the Su house. She turned her head and looked at the Su house, which was faintly shrouded in black mist. She finally felt a sense of liberation. The family affection that had troubled her for so many years was finally severed.
Su Xiwan walked out of the neighborhood with light steps and got on the subway back to her rented apartment. She had rented a two-bedroom apartment near the school. The Su family didn’t know about it.
It seemed that after junior high school, the Su family had stopped caring about her. She was grateful that she had gotten this mysterious space and learned the skills inside. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have known how to support herself back then.
When she returned to her rented apartment, Su Xiwan tidied up briefly. There was still half a month left before the college entrance exam. Now that she had left the Su family, she could finally stop hiding things, like her grades and her appearance!
Thinking about her appearance, Su Xiwan went to the bathroom mirror. She looked at herself, with her thick bangs and heavy glasses. She slowly took off the ugly glasses and then used hair clips to hold up her thick bangs. The person in the mirror had completely changed.
The girl in the mirror no longer had bangs to cover her forehead. She looked bright and elegant. Her eyebrows were long and curved. Her big, intelligent eyes, no longer hidden behind glasses, seemed to twinkle with thousands of stars. Her nose was high and straight, her lips were red, and her teeth were white. She was so beautiful that it was hard to look away.
Su Xiwan looked at herself in the mirror, familiar yet strange. Her heart felt a sense of relief. She could finally be herself. She could also openly earn money with her own abilities and pursue the life she wanted.
After packing her backpack, Su Xiwan sat down at her desk and started reviewing some practice questions. Even though her memory was extraordinary, she didn’t dare to take the college entrance exam lightly. She wanted to go to Peking University and choose the Xuanfa major that had just been opened in the past two years.
After all, her knowledge of the mystic arts was self-taught from the space. She felt that she still had a lot to learn. So, she wanted to go to Peking University to further her education. She also wanted to learn and exchange knowledge with experts in the field to see what level her knowledge of the mystic arts was at in the professional field.
